Chapter 399: It's Been A While
Since William would be waiting for Fria to reappear for who knew how long, he decided to reorganize the System Panel and consume his Element Fruits. He currently had 450 Order Fruits that couldn't be consumed, but other than that he had 350 Seal Fruits that hadn't been eaten, along with 300 Space and Fire Fruits.
It took him almost half a day to consume each Fruit, but by the end of it his Comprehension of the Seal Element had reached 40.6 percent from the original 5.6 percent. With this, his ability to restrict his own strength had been improved to an unimaginable level, only requiring twenty percent of the Seal Element to fully seal his Ability to the peak of the Tribulation Transcendence Realm.
Additionally, a small amount of text changed in the Seal Affinity's description.
-Primary Law of Sealing (40.6% comprehension): You understand some of this. Your Seal Element has been partially enhanced by your Comprehension and you feel like there may be additional effects. Comprehend the Seal Element or visit ??? to learn more.
His Fire and Space Elements didn't change in description yet, but William could still feel his Magic growing much stronger than it was before. While testing the Fire Element, William made a fireball that radiated heat so intense that the very ground beneath his feet started to melt.
When launched into the sky, the fireball became a raging sun that tore apart the first two layers of Space with no trouble at all, even igniting the third layer. Even after William canceled the Spell, the spatial fissures remained, still smoldering.
His Space Magic had improved by the same amount, but the effects were even more obvious. William hadn't needed to use his Reverse Domains to open a portal for a long time, but he felt as if he could teleport long distances even while the ambient Mana was overwhelming.
Additionally, William's teleport reached an incredible level of accuracy, down to the very meter.
If he wanted to teleport inside the Night Market right now, there would be no trouble at all. There was no distance that held William back across all of Efretta, and he could even wrap the world twice over with a single portal.
I can cover twice the distance of the entire world! William exclaimed as he cast many unique Spells of the Space Element.
While it was mostly used as a utility, Space Magic was meant for more than just traveling from one place to another. No, it was made for so much more.
With a point of his finger and a miniscule amount of Space Mana, William split a mountain in half, a thin line roughly two centimeters in width separating one half of the formation from the other. While splitting mountains was easily achievable by Tribulation Transcendence Cultivators, William had used but a single point of Mana to gain the same effect.
The Mana Dominator Talent pairs so well with my Space Magic now! William smiled from ear to ear. He continued messing around with both Space and Fire Magic, learning a few new things about both in the process.
The residents of a city on the Northern coastline of Azures were terrified. Not long after spotting a beautiful goddess with peak combat strength, a brute with Fire and Space Magic appeared, blowing holes in the sky and tearing apart the scenery. Enjoy new adventures at empire
Many wanted to confront William and plead for him to stop, but they were all too afraid of what he might do to them or their families in response. Peak Cultivators were incredibly unpredictable, and the rumors surrounding William's behavior were all terrifying.
Not only would he seal his opponents and lock them up for months, but he would also force them to work in the mines afterward and even steal all their valuables. If your clothes looked too shiny, he might even take those!
When the goddess with blue eyes and silver hair reappeared, the residents quickly approached her and begged for her assistance.
"Goddess Fria, Goddess Fria! Please help us, there's a demon destroying the mountains!" they cried out as she walked down the street calmly.
"A demon?" she asked. I haven't seen a demon in a while. The last one was pretty tough...
"Well... not really a demon... But he might as well be! Please help!"
"Hmm. Alright, take me there." she replied simply.
"This way!" they flew above the city and headed in William's direction. Their guidance turned out to be pointless as a shockwave followed by a muffled explosion caused the Tier 6 Arrays to appear around the city.
A frown appeared on her face as she spotted three massive holes in the mountain chain that weren't there before, dozens of vertical lines that looked laser-made, and a massive fifteen-kilometer-wide pit that stretched halfway to the core of the world.
Thankfully NPC William put up these barriers, otherwise whoever is causing trouble could have accidentally killed hundreds of thousands of people. What kind of idiot would be so reckless?
As she looked up at the back of a young man with tinges of grey in his hair, Fria's expression shifted.
"It's you!" she said angrily. "Do you know how long I've been tracking you?"
With William's Vision Talent, he could see 359 degrees around him, so he naturally would have noticed the girl approaching if his eyes were open. Even without seeing her, though, he could feel the Karma thread in his chest shortening meter by meter until Fria was only a few hundred meters away.
"It's me." he said softly, but he still didn't open his eyes or turn around. The memories from his life in the old world were flowing through his brain at high speed, a stark contrast from the life he lived now.
He didn't know why he was thinking about this just now, but William felt somewhat guilty. Guilty for his past actions. Guilty for how he treated human lives as nothing if they weren't on his side.
Would Fria still think of him as her brother? Even after all he had done in this World?
He had killed Magical Beasts, Cultivators, caused many innocent deaths by absorbing the World Cores. He had stolen, trespassed, battled with the local governments, and even enslaved his enemies to work in the mines.
The first few months living in Efretta were spent growing accustomed to inhuman strength, even being a little overwhelmed by it. He did whatever he wanted with no purpose but to have fun and use his power, and now was almost no different.
He had a purpose now, but the reasoning was still the same. William wanted to grow stronger, collect valuable items, and discover the secrets of the world. Other than the last reason, weren't the first two... selfish?
The fact that Fria was here meant something. It meant that Reius still existed. It meant that his adopted family was still around, and that he could return someday. It also meant that he might have to make a choice someday.
William shook his head. He was rambling for nothing. Why did any of that matter now?
He turned around and looked at his sister, "Hey Fria. It's been a while."
