Infinite Harem System: I Grow Stronger From Every Female Lead

Chapter 149: Past And Present (1)

(Three minutes ago)

After the eight wives of the Val Arcain family parted ways, Sylvia found herself in the same area as Nathira.

It wasn't as though they wanted to work together, but the space around them had shifted the moment they landed on the ground.

Sylvia's gaze swept through the dark space like a hawk.

After a moment, her eyes locked onto a figure with blonde hair, red eyes, red horns streaked with gold, and two golden wings on her back.

"Nathy?"

Nathira, who had just transformed into her demi-human form, opened her glowing crimson eyes and glanced at Sylvia.

"Seems we ended up in the same area." The beautiful dragon muttered, her aura soothing.

The blonde-haired goddess nodded twice. "If I were to guess, this would most likely be a spell from my mother, and your…"

She paused briefly before continuing. "And your brother, the demon god."

Nathira turned her face away, as if knowing that looking at Sylvia for too long would stir memories she didn't want to recall.

"Don't talk about that bastard."

Sylvia forced a small laugh. "Sorry, I shouldn't have brought him up."

Before she could finish, Nathira raised a hand to silence her. "Someone's coming."

They drew closer together as the sound of soft footsteps echoed in the empty space.

After a brief silence, a figure emerged from the darkness.

White hair, white lashes, icy-blue eyes, and twin frost-colored horns.

The figure blinked once. "Nathy?"

Nathira narrowed her eyes, then her expression hardened. "Big sis."

The figure, Echidna, smiled faintly. "I didn't expect to see you here, my lady."

Nathira rolled her eyes. "Cut the act, Arthur isn't here."

Echidna chuckled. "But I like it, my lady Nathira and my lady Sylvia."

Sylvia exhaled sharply. "Echidna, stop it. You're Arthur's sword; the least you can do is follow the orders of his wives."

Echidna clicked her tongue and waved dismissively. "You two are no fun."

She surveyed the area for a moment. "Seems big bro is at it again with his tricks."

Nathira nodded. "He always did love trapping people in spatial rifts."

"So, are you going to do it, or should I?"

The blonde-haired dragon glanced at her sister. "I'll do it."

It had only been about a week since Nathira regained her memories.

As Mi-kyong had said before, she only knew Arthur from his gaming days, and Sylvia had once trapped her for reasons she hadn't fully understood.

Well, not entirely unknown. It was more that Sylvia believed she had betrayed her and sided with her brother.

At the dawn of the world, there was a man called God.

A being formed from primordial energy and the desires of future generations.

When he was created, he had one wish.

For the world to be beautiful and to flourish.

To make that possible, he created the seven main gods of each universe.

After that, he shaped the first races of each world, beings with potential equal to the first gods.

Once his work was done, God perished, dispersing his consciousness into the world as mana and force. At least, that was what Sylvia had heard from her mother.

The first races soon birthed offspring, filling the world.

Among them, the dragon queen, capable of creating her children alone, bore a son.

Ariel Val Archaian.

When he was born, the world reacted to him just as it had each time Arthur awakened.

Ariel was strikingly handsome, unnaturally so. He was kind and cherished nearly every creature and race. This was years before Nathira's birth.

Ariel had many lovers, not only from mortal races but also from among the gods, particularly Tessia, the ruling goddess.

From the day she met Ariel, Tessia fell in love with him. Though he was still a teenager and she was over five hundred years old, appearing no older than twenty, they began a relationship.

And soon, they went all in.

It didn't take long for Tessia to realize she was carrying a child.

But there was a problem.

At the dawn of her era, Tessia had commanded all gods to avoid marrying or falling for mortals, as it would disrupt the divine order.

Yet she was the first to break her own law.

Back then, she had intended to eliminate the child, but Ariel stopped her, insisting he couldn't allow his daughter to die, especially one he shared with her.

So, they devised another plan.

They both knew that if Tessia confessed to the other gods, she would be stripped of her throne, perhaps even killed. And Tessia refused to apologize for love.

Instead, they began poisoning the minds of the other gods, asking if they were ready to die under God's prophecy and whether they truly wanted the world in their hands.

They knew well the greed festering in the gods' hearts and exploited it, driving them into a divine war with other universes, gathering strength in preparation for God's first return.

Amid the chaos, Tessia successfully gave birth to her and Ariel's child, Sylvia.

She was beautiful, with her mother's face and hair, and her grandmother's eyes.

But the two couldn't keep her. Instead, they entrusted her to a human household.

The Kim family.

They were strong and prosperous, in need of an heir, and Tessia gave them both a child and the responsibility of raising a goddess.

Around this time, Echidna was born, and the divine war escalated.

Years later, the gods succeeded in killing the second coming of God.

It was then one of the seven gods noticed Tessia's innocence had vanished.

The goddess of light exposed her.

It didn't take much for the others to piece things together and realize Tessia had deceived them, using the war as an excuse to pursue her forbidden love.

But lacking proof, they descended to the mortal world, visiting the Kim family in secret.

As they suspected, Tessia had indeed loved a mortal dragon and borne him a daughter.

Yet the gods spared the child.

Their true target was her mother. They would not kill innocents.

When Tessia discovered this, she annihilated the entire Kim family and reclaimed Sylvia.

That single act ignited the fire in Sylvia's heart, the fire that would one day burn the system itself to the ground.

Tessia, alongside her lover Ariel, whom she appointed Demon God not because he was of the demon race but because he subjugated them and ascended to Monarch rank within a hundred years, began the war later known as the Holy Grail War.

It was Tessia and her supporters, drawn from both their own universe and conquered ones, against the gods who rallied under the goddess of light.

Before the war began, Nathira was born, the last child of the dragon queen in her final life, as Ariel had used her as a vessel for his growth.

The war soon erupted. As most expected, the tide favored Tessia.

She was a monster on the battlefield, and with her husband, the Demon God, and their daughter Sylvia, the goddess of purity, their power was unmatched.

But just as Tessia was about to claim victory, Sylvia betrayed her.

The one who guided Sylvia was none other than the goddess of light. She revealed everything, how Tessia had slaughtered the Kim family, abandoned her, killed God her father, and intended to create a perfect world for Ariel and herself.

Sylvia didn't question how the goddess of light knew so much. All she knew was that she wanted revenge for what Tessia had done to her and to the Kims.

Thus began another divine war, Sylvia's chosen warriors against the gods under her mother.

The war raged for fifteen years, with neither side gaining ground.

Until the dark horse of Sylvia's side appeared, her closest friend.

The last daughter of the dead dragon queen, Syr'Nathira Val Archaian, the peerless dragon.

She was just past twenty, yet on that blood-soaked battlefield, she ascended to Supreme rank, unleashing draconic flames that burned the enemy to ash.

That feat alone gave Sylvia the momentum to end the war, sealing the gods she wanted to torment in an eternal abyss.

But before the celebration of her triumph, shocking news spread.

The peerless dragon had betrayed Sylvia.

And Sylvia, devastated, sealed her beneath a mountain under the watch of her secret squad.

The one who planted the idea in her mind had been the goddess of light.

Her words were simple:

"Nathira is the last child of the dragon queen. Once she longs for her kin, she will turn against you and release her brother. You cannot stop her."

Even so, Sylvia couldn't bear to seal her friend outright. She offered Nathira the chance to bind her soul to her, but Nathira refused.

Thus, Sylvia had no choice but to use her as the seal for the imprisoned gods.

Afterward, she revived the Kim family, choosing members from their bloodline and branch families as her chosen defenders.

That was everything that had happened.

Nathira and Sylvia both knew this truth and had revealed it to Arthur during their time in the demonic dragon territory.

But now, it was time to confront those who had sparked the war for love.

The main pawns of the goddess of light, herself a pawn of the false God, Mi-kyong.
