Chapter 141: Beginning Before The End (2)
Once Arthur entered the room, he felt a sudden surge of memory, as if his entire life was flashing before his eyes.
But something felt wrong.
Something was very wrong.
Before Arthur's consciousness went blank, he caught sight of a few words written in the glowing room.
DON'T LOOK DOWN!
And beside those words was another warning: Only those who never look down can reach divinity.
The message was far too vague for him to grasp.
Was it about being stuck-up and uncaring toward others?
Or was it about chasing strength endlessly, never looking at his—
Arthur's thoughts fractured as his consciousness slammed back into his body.
With a sharp start, he sat upright, his chest heaving for air.
His hand pressed to his head, fingers digging into his hair. "What the hell was that?"
Ellie and Nathira, who had been slicing apples for the remaining girls, immediately set down the knife and fruit before hurrying over to him.
"Art..." They both called in unison.
Arthur turned toward them, fear etched deep in his eyes.
Nathira froze, taking a step back. "Art?"
As if compelled, her gaze followed Arthur's, finally settling on the closed door.
She parted her lips to speak, but Ellie quickly raised a trembling hand in front of her. "Unnie..."
The hospital door creaked open, revealing a beautiful young woman.
She smiled warmly at them.
To others, it might have looked like a simple greeting. But to them, chills ran down their spines.
The emotion radiating from her was one they both recognized all too well.
Obsession.
Her heels clicked softly against the floor as she stepped inside.
"Hello, Bemmy."

(Five minutes ago)
"Do you think Husband has woken up yet?" Elizabeth asked, her voice laced with worry.
Amelia's expression had been shadowed all day. She hadn't even been able to focus in class, despite the new concept of spirit zones catching her interest.
After a pause, she replied. "I hope so."
Cassie clenched her paper bag. "That idiot's too stubborn to die."
Sylvia nodded. "He could have been gone a long time ago if he really wanted to die."
The four girls raised their heads to see Isabella and Eira standing outside the hospital with large bags in hand.
"You guys are late," Isabella remarked.
Eira pouted slightly. "I wanted to run ahead and see Art, but you all had to—"
She cut herself off, leaving the others frowning.
Amelia's breath caught. "Eira... what happened?"
Beads of sweat gathered at Eira's temple. "I just felt an energy like Husband's... but it wasn't him."
Sylvia gave a nervous laugh. "Don't joke, Eira. I'm the goddess—I would have felt—"
They all stopped, the same instant a familiar scent drifted into their noses.
Slowly, they turned toward the figure behind them.
There was a saying that soulmates truly existed. Even if one person had several, there would always be a perfect match—a soul so intertwined with yours that the line between "you" and "them" blurred.
The woman walking toward them moved with elegance. She was undoubtedly feminine, but the aura she carried felt eerily similar to Arthur's.
And her face... was hauntingly familiar.
"A—" Cassie nearly stumbled back. "Anna...?"
Amelia knew it. Cassie knew it. Isabella knew it. Sylvia knew it.
The woman before them was supposed to be dead.
Arthur had reset the world, yes.
But now they were back in the normal world. So why was she alive?
And why did something about her feel... different?
By the time they snapped out of their daze, the woman had already passed them, heading straight into the hospital.
All eyes followed her as she walked.
After passing a few rooms, she stopped.
Room number: 1/1/567
"How ironic," she muttered, pushing the door open slowly.
It had been so long since she had seen her lover.
But one question lingered—why was he still alive?
They were meant to die together.
She had even killed the body she now inhabited just to tear open his trauma again.
Smiling faintly, she stepped into the room. "Hello, Bemmy."
The young man lying in the hospital bed froze, eyes wide in horror.
'Bemmy? Did she just say Bemmy?'
There was only one person who could call him that...
His first love. His only family. His teacher. His best friend. His entire world.
And the one his life had once revolved around.
Ellie, standing protectively by Arthur's bed, asked cautiously. "Anna, how are you alive?"
Nathira's expression darkened, her voice low and sharp. "Anna, I gave you a chance. And yet, you dare show yourself before me again?"
But the young woman only smiled.
A sickly sweet, seductive smile—like she already knew everything.
Like the world itself was just a game to her.
She raised a finger to her lips, tilting her head. "Who's Anna?"
Her gaze shifted toward Arthur. "Bemmy, didn't you tell your side chicks about me?" She pouted. "I'm disappointed."
The rest of the girls rushed into the room, surrounding the mysterious woman.
"But you know what?" She lowered her hand. "I'll forgive you, my dear Bemmy."
Her eyes locked on Arthur, trembling in his bed. "Come, let me pat you," she cooed. "You know I love cute things."
The room fell silent.
Those words...
They had heard them countless times before.
Every time Arthur found something remotely adorable, or when they acted foolish, he would always say it.
He'd pat their heads and murmur: I love cute things.
The woman's eyes widened in feigned surprise. "Bemmy, were you using what I taught you to pick up girls?" She shook her head slowly. "I'll have to discipline you when we get home."
Nathira's glare sharpened. "Who the hell are you?"
Even though she had watched Arthur since his days on Earth, she only knew him from the moment he began playing The Magic Academy's Genius Scholars.
Anything before that remained a mystery.
But one truth was undeniable—
The woman before them was Arthur's trauma.
The young woman placed a hand over her chest and declared:
"I am Lee Mi-kyong, Arthur's first and only true love."
