Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 504: First Day of the Sacred Azure Sect

The world around him faded, replaced by the deep inner landscape of his cultivation.

Necro's consciousness sank, descending through the layers of his spirit sea, where a swirling vortex of spiritual energy resided, colors weaving through the darkness like veins of living light. The principles learned from the Azure Guardian—forceful, adaptable, shifting like water yet unyielding as mountain stone—unfurled within him.

He guided these principles along his meridians, refining and weaving them with the concepts he had already comprehended, feeling how they responded to the spiritual qi saturating the Sacred Azure Sect. The azure threads within him pulsed, resonating with the land, drawing in the surrounding energy like a gentle tide.

Time passed, unmeasured, as Necro refined the resonance further, forming new patterns within his spirit sea—adaptive formations that could shift between offense and defense, calm cultivation and fierce combat, as effortlessly as breathing.

A soft knock came at the courtyard gate.

Necro's eyes opened, calm and sharp, as his aura receded into his body like a tide, the multicolored corona folding into the thin boundary of his skin.

He stood and stepped lightly toward the gate, pushing it open.

A young female disciple stood there, her azure robes neatly arranged, hair tied in a simple knot with a jade pin. She held a small wooden tray upon which a single jade slip rested, along with a pale blue talisman shaped like a lotus petal.

"Senior Brother Necro," she said, bowing with practiced respect, though her eyes betrayed the curiosity burning behind them. "Elder Yun has requested your presence tomorrow morning at the First Martial Platform for an orientation and demonstration."

Her gaze flickered to the faint shimmer of spiritual energy around Necro before she quickly looked down again.

Necro inclined his head. "Understood."

She placed the tray on a small stone table near the entrance and bowed again before turning and hurrying away, her steps light, the bamboo leaves rustling as they brushed against her sleeves.

Necro picked up the jade slip and swept it with his spiritual sense, reading the contents swiftly. It contained a map of the Sect's training platforms, a schedule for the orientation, and a note at the end:

"Given your trial results, some of the Inner Sect Elders may attend to observe. Do as you would normally. - Elder Yun."

Necro's eyes narrowed slightly.

Inner Sect Elders?

So, they truly wish to see what kind of disciple they have accepted.

He placed the jade slip aside and picked up the lotus talisman, which pulsed with a calm, soft light. When he injected a sliver of his spiritual sense into it, a gentle warmth spread through his meridians, balancing and calming the flow of spiritual qi. It was a meditation aid, used to harmonize qi flow before breakthroughs or before public demonstrations.

Thoughtful.

Necro placed the talisman in his sleeve, then turned back toward the stone platform.

It was still early in the evening, and the sky above the Sacred Azure Sect was painted with the colors of twilight, hues of purple and gold blending with the drifting mists and the faint glow of floating lanterns rising into the air like distant stars.

Necro stepped forward and began moving through a series of cultivation stances, each one precise, flowing seamlessly into the next, his body weaving between stillness and movement.

His movements were slow, but the spiritual energy around him stirred, rippling with each transition as the principles of the Azure Guardian guided the pathways of his qi, shaping it, refining it, tempering it with each breath.

Inwardly, he could see the new formations stabilizing within him, lines of blue light forming patterns within his spirit sea, like rivers cutting through the darkness.

His body, forged through harsh trials and tempered in the realms of death and comprehension, adapted seamlessly, the spiritual energy strengthening his meridians, reinforcing his bones, nourishing his blood.

Step. Breathe. Shift.

Each motion brought a faint pressure against the air, causing the bamboo leaves nearby to tremble softly, the waterfall's roar behind him providing a steady backdrop.

Hours passed as the sky darkened, the moon rising above the clouds, casting silver light across the courtyard.

Necro ended the sequence with a final stance, his hands coming together in front of his chest, his breath steady, the aura around him pulsing once before settling into stillness.

His eyes opened, glowing faintly in the moonlight.

The principles had been refined to the point where they now resonated fully with his core, the adaptive formations ready to be utilized in combat or cultivation without conscious effort.

Necro exhaled softly, allowing the last of the tension to leave his body.

Then, he turned and entered the meditation room, sitting cross-legged upon the formation-etched floor.

Activating the formation with a single touch, lines of soft blue light lit up beneath him, forming a lotus-shaped pattern that resonated with the spiritual veins under the mountain.

Necro closed his eyes and sank into a deeper cultivation state, the formation aiding in the gathering and refinement of the surrounding spiritual energy.

Within his spirit sea, the vortex of spiritual energy rotated slowly, drawing in the dense qi of the Sacred Azure Sect and transforming it into usable essence. The blue threads within the multicolored vortex pulsed, weaving with the gold and violet lines already present, strengthening his foundation.

His spiritual sense expanded, brushing against the flow of the spiritual veins beneath the mountain, sensing the way they pulsed like a living network, providing nourishment to the entire Sect.

Necro's awareness moved along these veins, observing how certain nodes aligned with cultivation fields, martial platforms, and meditation groves. Each location was positioned deliberately, drawing upon the energy in unique ways to support different types of cultivation.

'This Sect is meticulous,' Necro thought.

He pulled back his awareness, focusing once more on his cultivation.

The energy refined within him coalesced into a denser form, sinking into his dantian, where a small, multicolored core pulsed steadily.

The power of the guardian trials, the principles of adaptability and resilience, merged with the power he had already accumulated, forming a foundation that would allow him to advance further when the time was right.

His meridians pulsed, stronger, clearer, the flow of energy more stable than it had ever been.

When the first light of dawn began to glow along the horizon, Necro opened his eyes, standing smoothly as the formation beneath him dimmed, the lines of light fading back into the floor.

He stepped out into the courtyard, the morning mist swirling around him, cool and refreshing, carrying the scent of bamboo and fresh water.

With practiced movements, Necro cleaned and readied himself, donning the azure robes of the Sacred Azure Sect, adjusting them so they fit properly over his tall, lean frame.

The jade slip provided by Elder Yun pulsed softly, reminding him of the orientation at the First Martial Platform.

Necro secured the slip at his waist, along with the Outer Disciple token, before stepping out of the courtyard and closing the gate behind him.

The Sect was already alive with movement.

Disciples moved along the pathways, some in groups, others alone, each carrying an air of determination and focus. Some glanced at Necro as he passed, eyes lingering on the faint, pulsing aura that surrounded him, a quiet yet undeniable sign of his difference.

Necro ignored the stares, his steps calm, silent, as he made his way along the winding paths toward the First Martial Platform.

As he approached, the sounds of the waterfall behind him faded, replaced by the low hum of conversation, the crackle of spiritual energy, and the rhythmic sounds of weapons clashing as disciples sparred on smaller platforms nearby.

The First Martial Platform itself was a wide, circular structure of polished jade and black stone, inscribed with formation lines that pulsed faintly with blue light.

A small crowd had gathered, mostly Outer and Inner Disciples, with a few Elders standing along the edges, their robes marked with distinct emblems denoting their roles within the Sect.

San Xianying was there, standing near the center of the platform, his eyes bright as he spotted Necro approaching.

He raised a hand in greeting. "Junior Brother Necro! Right on time."

Necro stepped onto the platform, feeling the slight shift in spiritual energy as the formation beneath him recognized his presence.

San Xianying gestured toward a stern-looking Elder standing nearby, his long hair streaked with silver, eyes sharp as they studied Necro.

"This is Elder Wu, one of the instructors for the Martial Platform training sessions," San Xianying explained.

Necro bowed politely. "Elder Wu."

Elder Wu nodded, his gaze weighing, assessing. "You are the one who shattered the Azure Guardian during your trial?"

"I am," Necro replied simply.

The Elder's eyes narrowed slightly, but he gave a thin smile. "Good. We will see if your skill matches the rumors."

He turned, gesturing to the gathered disciples. "Today's demonstration will allow you to showcase your understanding of martial applications of Dao principles, as well as your control over your aura and spiritual energy. It is a standard orientation, though I suspect for you, it will be… informative."

Necro inclined his head. "Understood."

Elder Wu stepped back, raising his voice so that all could hear.

"Begin when ready."

Necro stepped toward the center of the platform, allowing the formation lines beneath him to connect with his aura.

He exhaled, letting his aura unfold, the multicolored corona pulsing outward, shimmering with hues of blue, gold, violet, and silver.

A ripple passed through the crowd as the disciples felt the pressure of his aura, sharp and clear, yet controlled, like the edge of a blade held just at the threshold of striking.

Necro raised a hand, focusing, and the blue filaments within his aura pulsed, weaving through the other colors, forming lines of force that resonated with the principles of adaptability and resilience.

With a single step, he moved.

The platform responded, the formation lines lighting up as he moved through a series of stances, each movement precise, flowing seamlessly into the next.

Each strike of his palm sent ripples through the air, waves of controlled spiritual energy extending outward before dissipating just at the edge of the platform.

The disciples watching could see how the energy shifted, changing forms, adapting to each stance, sometimes flowing like water, sometimes striking like a hammer, sometimes still and immovable like a mountain.

It was a dance of power, control, and understanding, a silent demonstration of Dao comprehension and martial intent woven together.

When Necro ended the sequence, the platform's light slowly dimmed, and his aura folded back into his body.

Silence fell over the Martial Platform.

Then, quietly, the whispers began.

"That control… it's like he's one with the formation…"

"Did you see how the energy shifted? He changed the force mid-strike…"

"It's like the principles themselves are alive within him…"

Elder Wu studied Necro for a long moment before giving a small nod.

"You will do well here, Necro," he said, his voice quiet but carrying a note of genuine approval.

Necro inclined his head. "Thank you, Elder."

San Xianying stepped forward, a wide smile on his face, eyes bright with excitement.

"Junior Brother, that was incredible!"

Necro's gaze remained calm, though a faint glint of satisfaction passed through his eyes.

"It was necessary."

He turned his gaze toward the Sect, toward the mountains, waterfalls, and drifting clouds.

A forge for those who sought to reach for heaven.

Necro's journey within the Sacred Azure Sect had truly begun.

And with the 7th Petal of his Red Lotus already lit up, there wasn't much more to go before the Red Lotus achieved a completed state. After that, a breakthrough to the Foundation Establishment Realm, with a Green Lotus, was imminent.

Even the strongest of Golden Core Realm powerhouses might not be his match by that point…
