Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 502: Joining The Sacred Azure Sect

The air snapped with tension as Necro advanced, dragging the captured spear of light in a lazy arc behind him. Each footstep echoed like a drumbeat upon the cracked platform, ripples of pressure rolling outward, pushing against the dense spiritual energy that saturated the floor and walls.

The guardian's eyes, glowing pale blue, never blinked, yet they shifted subtly, following the spear Necro held, assessing it, and by extension, assessing Necro himself.

Necro's own eyes were half-lidded, calm, yet within their depths, storms brewed, patterns of countless Dao principles swirling behind them. The layers of azure light within his aura expanded, folding seamlessly into the multicolored radiance that marked him as one who devoured and integrated, rather than rejected, what the world threw at him.

The guardian moved, so fast that only the faintest distortion in the air marked its path. It reappeared a breath away, palm extended toward Necro's chest, a vortex of blue inscriptions spiraling outward from its fingertips.

Necro did not flinch.

The spear of light in his hand flickered, shifting form, compressing into a needle-thin beam as he rotated his wrist, thrusting it forward in a subtle, unassuming motion.

The point of the compressed light met the center of the guardian's palm.

A single note rang out, clear and sharp, like the striking of a flawless bell.

Space around the impact twisted violently, the ground fracturing into geometric shards, but for a brief instant, everything was frozen, held in perfect balance between force and resistance.

Necro's lips curved into a faint smile.

Then, the stillness shattered.

BOOOOOM—!

A dome of force exploded outward, the inscriptions along the platform flaring to life as layered formations activated to contain the blast. Light fractured into rainbows, fragments of spiritual power spiraling upward like embers caught in a storm.

The guardian skidded backward, robes whipping around its form, feet scraping against the floor, its jade face tilting ever so slightly as it studied Necro anew.

Necro did not give it the chance to regain its stance.

His figure blurred, stepping into the space between them, the condensed spear shifting back into a broad blade of light, which he brought down in a descending arc.

The guardian's hand rose, catching the blade, and for a moment, the two stood locked, power vibrating violently between them.

But then Necro twisted his wrist.

The blade dissolved, flowing around the guardian's hand like water, reforming into a chain of multicolored light that wrapped around its arm, binding it.

Necro pulled.

The guardian staggered forward, and Necro's free hand came up, fingers extended in a blade shape, slashing down at the guardian's shoulder.

SCHING—!

Blue sparks flew as the strike bit into the jade skin, cutting a shallow groove that glowed with inner light.

The guardian's eyes flared, and a wave of azure qi burst from its body, tearing the chain of light apart, sending shards of multicolored energy scattering like glass.

Necro slid back, feet scraping lines into the cracked floor, his eyes narrowing in interest.

"Adaptive defense," he murmured.

The guardian's robes fluttered as it straightened, the cut on its shoulder sealing itself with a hiss of vaporized qi. It raised both hands, palms facing each other, and a sphere of blue light formed between them, expanding rapidly until it was the size of a boulder, layers of inscriptions folding inward upon themselves.

Necro's mind raced, his spiritual sense diving into the structure of the sphere, memorizing each rune, each flow of energy, while his body adjusted his stance, lowering his center of gravity.

The sphere of light compressed in an instant, shooting forward like a meteor.

Necro's aura condensed, layering upon itself until it was like a solid wall around him. His hand rose, forming a claw of multicolored light, and he thrust it forward.

The meteor met the claw.

Time seemed to slow.

The sphere pressed against Necro's hand, layers of blue energy peeling away as the inscriptions struggled to penetrate the layers of Necro's aura.

Necro's eyes shone with cold light as he twisted his wrist, hooking the sphere and diverting its path upward.

The meteor shot into the ceiling of the platform, exploding in a cascade of blue light that rained down like falling stars.

Necro stepped forward, slipping through the rain of light, closing the distance once more.

The guardian's head tilted, its eyes narrowing.

It raised its hand, and a blade of pure azure qi formed, humming with lethal sharpness.

Necro's own hand formed a similar blade, but his was multicolored, threads of different Dao principles weaving through it like veins of living energy.

The two blades clashed.

CRASH—!

A shockwave rippled outward, flattening the falling motes of light against the ground, the air ringing with the sound of clashing principles.

The guardian struck again, and again, each strike faster, sharper, the patterns on its blade shifting mid-swing, seeking weaknesses.

Necro matched each strike, his blade shifting forms—broad, thin, curved, straight—meeting each angle with perfect precision. His eyes glowed brighter with each exchange, consuming and integrating the guardian's techniques in real time.

Then, during a brief opening between strikes, Necro stepped inside the guardian's guard, his hand releasing the blade of light to form a simple, open palm.

He thrust it forward.

The palm met the guardian's chest.

BOOOOOOM—!

The guardian flew backward, slamming into the far wall of the platform, cracks spider-webbing outward as the force of the impact echoed through the structure.

Necro exhaled softly, steam rising from his lips, his aura pulsing as the absorbed principles settled within him.

Across the platform, the guardian pushed itself out of the crater, its jade face expressionless, but its eyes were brighter now, the blue glow intensifying.

It stepped forward, and the inscriptions on its arms and legs flared, forming into rings of light that spun around its limbs.

Necro tilted his head, studying.

The guardian moved.

Its body flickered, reappearing above Necro, a knee descending like a falling star.

Necro raised his arms, crossing them above his head.

BOOM—!

The impact drove him to one knee, the ground beneath him fracturing into dust. The pressure was immense, but Necro's aura flared, and he pushed upward, throwing the guardian off balance.

He stood, sweeping his leg in a low arc.

The guardian's body twisted, avoiding the strike, and countered with a spinning backhand, its palm glowing with a compressed sphere of blue light.

Necro's hand shot up, catching the wrist, and he pulled, yanking the guardian off its feet.

With a twist, Necro spun the guardian and slammed it into the ground.

The platform cracked further, light leaking from the fractures.

The guardian rolled, coming to its feet in a blur, its head tilting as it regarded Necro.

"You are worthy," it said, its voice echoing through the chamber.

Necro's eyes narrowed, his breathing steady. "Then let's end this."

The guardian's body began to glow, its jade skin becoming translucent as streams of blue light poured from the inscriptions, coiling around it like dragons of pure energy.

Necro's auras condensed once more, the multicolored lights folding inward, becoming sharper, denser, until it formed a corona around him, shimmering with the power of absorbed Dao.

The two faced each other in silence.

Then they moved.

The world blurred as they clashed, their movements too fast for the eye to follow, each strike a collision of Dao principles, each counter a weaving of spiritual threads into new patterns.

Necro's hand clashed against the guardian's fist, blue and multicolored light bursting outward in violent waves.

The guardian's knee met Necro's thigh, the impact sending shockwaves through the floor.

A palm strike met an elbow block, a spinning kick was deflected by a rising knee.

The air was filled with the sound of cracking space, the platform beneath them a shattered mess of glowing lines and floating fragments.

Necro's eyes glowed, patterns flashing within them as he adapted to each strike, each movement, learning, integrating, evolving.

The guardian's eyes glowed brighter, its strikes becoming more refined, sharper, its movements smoother, faster.

They were mirrors, each reflecting the other, each adapting, evolving, pushing past their limits with every exchange.

Then, as they clashed once more, their hands locking together, the guardian spoke.

"You learn… too quickly."

Necro's eyes flashed. "That's the point."

He stepped in, twisting his body, and pulled the guardian off balance.

His free hand shot up, two fingers extended, glowing with multicolored light, and he thrust them forward.

They met the center of the guardian's chest, pressing into the jade surface.

A crack formed, spreading outward in a spider-web pattern.

The guardian's eyes widened, the glow within them flickering.

Necro's lips curved into a cold smile.

"Break."

With a final push, the crack expanded, and the guardian's body shattered, breaking into shards of glowing jade that floated in the air before dissolving into streams of blue light.

The light flowed into Necro, merging with his aura, the blue threads weaving seamlessly into the multicolored corona around him.

The platform was silent, the only sound the soft hum of the formations resetting.

Necro stood, his aura pulsing, the power of the guardian settling within him, integrating into his pathways, expanding his foundation.

Above him, the ceiling split open, revealing a spiral staircase of light leading upward.

Necro looked up, his eyes calm, the storm within them quiet for now.

He stepped forward, ascending the stairs, leaving the shattered platform behind.

As he rose, the air grew denser with spiritual energy, each step forward like wading into a sea of power.

He exhaled softly, his senses expanding, reaching upward toward the presence he had felt before.

The final secret trial. It finally came to an end.

Next was entering the Sacred Azure Sect.

Necro's eyes glinted as he ascended, his aura flaring with new blue filaments weaving through it, the echo of the guardian's power harmonizing with his own.

Then a joyous voice suddenly pierced through, accompanied by the warping of Necro's vision as he appeared in the outside world.

"Congratulations on passing every test, Junior Brother!"
