Chapter 421: Creation Law
"No, this is different," he thought.
After the reset, his chaos body had broken through, and just like his theory had predicted, he had gained the chaos law.
He summoned the chaos law in his hand, then thought to himself that the absolute source concept was different than this. It didn't feel like a law but like something else entirely. Well, it made sense. After all, it was the source of all the other concepts.
He raised his other hand, summoning the absolute end.
Instantly, the space around him was destroyed. But it wasn't just destroyed to unveil the void beneath - it was completely erased, leaving just pure nothingness like the one inside his spiritual sea. Not even the usual space auto-repair worked.
It just stayed like that, as if the space had never existed there to begin with.
He waved his hand again and the void and space was repaired.
Xiang Yu thought to himself that this ability, although powerful, was extremely costly.
Just now, using it like this had left him feeling extremely tired.
It seemed he couldn't completely capture the ability as he had anticipated. He thought to himself that usually, the laws and other abilities relied on energy to activate. The way he had expected the absolute source to work was by itself - after all, it was in the basis of its concept to be able to create something from nothing.
When using it, it was more like creating something from energy, which was somewhat similar to the law of creation, just with more freedom.
After some thought, he came up with a plausible explanation. He was going about it entirely wrong. What he had here was the absolute source law. But in reality, the absolute source wasn't a law at all. This meant that he was just imitating the absolute source and recreating his understanding of it through energy.
He came up with a theory. At the lowest levels, there were the domain concepts. Above that was the law, and beyond that, at the peak, was the dao.
Looking at these concepts, where would something like the absolute source concept fit? Of course not in any of them, because it was the source of all these. This could only mean one thing - there was another level above.
He decided to name this level "source."
It would be the level above the dao-level concepts.
He thought to himself that a source-level concept was a concept that affected existence itself, like the absolute source concept. At the moment, he only knew of one such concept, and he doubted there were more out there.
He thought to himself that only the true source-level absolute source concept could do what he had seen - creating concepts out of nothing and all that. This meant that for him to wield such power, he needed to level up his absolute source concept to its true level.
He then sighed, shaking his head. He thought to himself that even though he didn't have the original source-level concept, it didn't mean that it was useless. It was still extremely powerful.
He just needed to pay the price for what he was doing in energy, just like the other laws.
Speaking of other laws, Xiang Yu smiled. Since the absolute source was the source of all other concepts, then could he get the other concepts through it? Could he use it to upgrade his other domains to law level and gain the other three thousand laws?
…
Xiang Yu drew all energy from his body and began concentrating it into the absolute source law.
He remembered when he was grasping the law, where he had seen the original absolute source create all the concepts in existence and destroy them. Focusing hard on that, he tried to recreate the scene.
On his hand, a small light began shining.
He concentrated hard on the light. "Just a little more," he thought, and suddenly, he felt something snap inside him.
He clenched his open palm, crushing the light.
He had a smug expression - he had unlocked another law.
Using the absolute source, he had tried recreating the law of creation. He wasn't successful in completely recreating the entire concept like he had seen before, but he was able to push his creation domain to law level.
The only problem was that the energy required had almost completely drained him.
He breathed heavily, absorbing lots of energy to stabilize himself.
He wondered if he should try another one. He was really tempted but eventually decided against it. He needed to be more careful.
Actually, he didn't have that much energy - well, he did, a few stars' worth.
But all this energy was being used by his body to maintain all sorts of crazy reactions. If he were to lose his energy and be unable to control the reactions, he really might blow up in a supernova explosion and completely annihilate everything around him.
And considering most of the stars were close to where his soul was, he might not even have a chance to enter the river of reincarnation.
Now that he thought about it, he was really a walking disaster. If he was killed, the people around him might not even be able to survive. Just thinking about it…
"Oh well, I just have to not die…"
He decided to limit himself to just a law a day.
As time goes on, he should be able to do more and more. With his growth rate, he might even be able to get all the three thousand laws in just a month. He smiled. Yesterday, he hadn't had any laws, but now, not only did he have two laws, he also had one super OP law as a trump card.
He summoned his system to look at the law progression.
From the empress's teachings, he knew it advanced by percentage.
He didn't think his system would just let him double percentages, but it also wouldn't give him an exp meter for every single percent - that would be too low even for the system.
He wondered how it was classified.
As he checked out the system screen, information about law classification instantly flew into his mind. As he was about to check it out, he heard muffled voices behind him.
"Hmm, what's that strange sound?" He turned around, noticing the tentacles protruding from his back and binding Li Yao in a strange position. He facepalmed. Well, she wouldn't calm down no matter what, and he had to resort to this.
He had almost forgotten about her.
He unsealed her mouth but didn't release her completely. "Have you calmed down now?" he asked.
"I have, but..." she blushed, "I think I've discovered something else in me."
