Chapter 20: Fight against the upper moon
"Human, what's your name?"
At Akaza's words, Lin Cheng finally broke his silence.
"Lin Cheng."
"Lin Cheng..." Akaza smiled broadly. "Now the real battle begins. Don't let me down!"
"Destructive Death! Compass Needle!"
Suddenly, a twelve-pointed snowflake formation appeared beneath Akaza's feet. The demon's already overwhelming aura intensified drastically, causing the ground around him to tremble.
Lin Cheng frowned as he watched the technique. If everything up to now had been a simple warm-up, this was proof that Akaza was beginning to take the fight seriously.
The true power of the demon was being revealed.
Lin Cheng was not far behind. The muscles in his body began to tighten and swell, as if dragons and snakes were dancing beneath his skin. His training clothes, already worn out, tore completely and hung like rags from his body. With a casual movement, he tossed off the remnants.
Lin Cheng's skin, originally pale, took on a reddish hue that quickly turned dark, almost black. Near him, one could even hear the rush of his blood flowing like a raging river.
On his bare back, the muscles were marked with clear lines, forming the image of an evil face that seemed to smile in the moonlight. Every movement of his muscles made that face seem alive.
Boom!
Lin Cheng crouched, flexed his legs, and stomped on the ground with such force that it cracked, sending debris and dust flying into the air. Without waiting for Akaza's move, he charged first, launching himself toward his enemy like a cannonball.
"That's it!" Akaza roared, filled with excitement.
Lin Cheng raised his right fist, aiming directly at Akaza's head with brutal force.
Boom!
Akaza blocked the blow by crossing his arms in front of his face. The impact's strength dragged him several meters back, leaving two deep grooves in the ground from his feet.
Despite his opponent's resistance, Lin Cheng showed no hesitation. His attack didn't stop there; his fists rained down like an unrelenting storm, each punch releasing shockwaves that echoed through the air.
Akaza laughed enthusiastically as he dodged and blocked. "That's it, Lin Cheng! This is how true warriors fight!"
Under the snowflake formation, Akaza could clearly sense every move Lin Cheng made. His technique not only enhanced his strength but gave him near-absolute precision.
It was as if he could foresee every attack, as if guided by an invisible magnetism.
"Destructive Death! Compass of Chaos!" Akaza exclaimed as he unleashed a series of rapid and precise attacks, each designed to exploit any opening in Lin Cheng's defense.
Boom!
The clash of their attacks caused the ground beneath them to explode, sending up a cloud of dust and debris. Even the nearby dojo trembled under the force of their battle.
As the smoke began to clear, Akaza, with a wild grin, shouted excitedly, "Become a demon, Lin Cheng! Abandon your human fragility and join me in the pursuit of eternal power!"
Lin Cheng raised an eyebrow, letting out a faint smile. He brought both hands to his chest and assumed a fighting stance. "That's my answer".
Akaza bared his fangs in a ferocious grin.
"I see. Then, if you won't join me, I'll kill you. Of course, you can always change your mind... if you survive!"
Akaza launched himself forward with overwhelming speed, the ground beneath him splitting apart. Lin Cheng barely had time to register the blow coming straight for his chest.
The wind generated by Akaza's punch was so dense it felt like a boulder pressing down. But Lin Cheng, with his gaze fixed and muscles taut, was ready.
Just when it seemed Akaza was about to strike, he abruptly changed direction, twisting his body and launching an upward kick straight at Lin Cheng's head.
"Destructive Death! Crown Splitter!"
The speed and force of the kick were like a dragon rising from the water, its roar echoing through the air.
However, Lin Cheng reacted with astonishing swiftness. He blocked the kick with his crossed arms, absorbing the impact and immediately countering with a left-handed punch aimed directly at Akaza's abdomen.
The demon laughed, even as he was sent flying backward.
"Incredible! But that won't be enough to defeat me, Lin Cheng!"
The fight continued, each move more intense than the last. Both combatants were completely immersed in the art of battle, every strike and counterattack raising the tension to a breaking point.
The battle had only just begun.
