In unOrdinary as John Doe

Chapter 5: Chapter 5

(Two years later)

Not much has happened, at least apart from what was planned.

I let myself go wild when it came to bullying, beating up any memorable faces that gave Adrion, Claire and me a bad time, even losing control once and putting one in the hospital.

I quickly created a rule that prohibited violence in the school, with the only exception being rank matches that would take place in the courtyard or on turf war grounds.

The staff didn't all fully agree with me, especially the elite-tiers such as the principal and other highly placed staff.

They couldn't do shit though, since they had no way of really controlling me.

I even managed to convince the principal to let me utilize an unused classroom as a safe house club's location, not unlike Remi's future safe house in Wellston.

It had rather simple rules:

No bullying in the classroom

No fighting of any kind in the classroom.

Members are not allowed to mistreat each other.

Any members of the club would be under my protection.

You could do various activities inside as long as you didn't mistreat your classmates.

If any member of the club broke those regulations, or any other student disrespected them, then they would get banned or be prevented from joining it for a month, along with a very severe beating from me.

I would also occasionally help out any low-tier victims I encountered, by beating up their oppressors.

It made my day much longer, but I felt it was worth it since the bullying and other violence lessened.

Besides, it provided extra training due to me trying to sense any active abilities indoors.

Now came the interesting part of what happened.

After becoming king, it was my right and duty to partake in turf wars.

In fact, it was one of the main reasons I even thought about dethroning Zirian.

Turf wars were the source of my growth after I had become king a year earlier than in Canon.

I struggled at times, especially since I had fought a few high-tiers and a god-tier.

Only one though, they were extremely rare (A/N: For every thousand humans there are only around one or two god-tiers).

I felt my strength growing every day, my sensing range being around fifty meters in diameter.

And me learning new things like being able to utilise five copied abilities in combat and memorizing their blueprints, so to speak.

I could basically store 5 abilities and enhance the two highest stats of those copied abilities by 1.75 as opposed to canon John only being capable of enhancing the highest stat of a copied ability by 1.5, reinforcing my belief that I had become stronger than canon John.

After school, while taking my materials from my locker, I saw a note from Zirian telling me that the neighbouring school had challenged us again and that they were waiting for me at Turf War grounds.

There even was a little good luck at the end, since I was the only royal that went to turf wars, courtesy of me monopolizing the event for practice.

Any good luck coming from him, especially directed towards me, is kind of out of character for him but I welcomed the change without questioning anything.

I called my dad and told him that I had to go to Turf Wars for king business and warned him that I might come home a little later than usual, asking him not to worry about me.

After that, I took the train to my destination.

Our neighbouring high school never learned from their mistakes, always challenging us despite the cruel defeats I kept inflicting on them.

After stepping out of the train, I climbed the stairs towards the open sky, expecting to find my next adversaries.

I never expected those to be the hundred most powerful students of the student body, except for me and Zirian who I didn't see among the small crowd.

"John, you're a bad king. You know that right?"

One of them spoke out.

"On whose behalf are you saying that? And you better not say low tiers 'cause they are the ones that are benefiting the most from my system." I answered.

Is this some kind of rip-off of the canon's 'betrayal' of John by Claire?

"That's not how the hierarchy works though," someone else pitched in.

"I don't give a single fuck about hierarchy! I suffered long enough under it and now it's time to help those who weren't as lucky as me and who still suffer from this garbage of a system imposed by the waste of space that the Authorities are." I yelled losing my cool.

"You aren't happy with my rules!" I continued.

"Then please be my guest and fuck off! Change to a school where you could potentially be a king or a queen. Or for a school whose ruler is a massive dickhead that is obsessed with this trashy system. Except when you realise that the guy or girl beats your asses for the fun of it and does other injustices that low-tiers are subjected to on a daily bases, don't come back crying because I won't take you!" I shouted.

"You're the one who should stop crying about not being born as a high-tier, it makes you immature!" I heard someone's day making my blood boil.

"Who said that? I dare you to come and say that to my face!" I yelled to them acting like the typical impulsive and somewhat arrogant high-tier that the canon John was at this point in time.

"Don't be scared guys, he's alone we can take him," was the last thing I heard before they all charged at me at once.
