Episode 2

A dozen years ago.
It was a day when rain poured down heavily.

Se-ah was sitting at her desk in the student council room, cutting out a large paper whale with scissors.

The festival is almost over. The student council members gather here and there to do chores. Today is the day to gather. but everyone has left early. perhaps because of the heavy rain.

He asked Se-ah to go too, but she said goodbye and said that her parents would come pick her up.

‘My parents will freeze to death.’
Se-ah smiled bitterly and this time she picked up a cute seahorse.

“hungry.”
Se-ah muttered quietly.
Now that he thinks of it, he didn’t even eat lunch. He was so sleepy during the 4th period class that he just slept.

“I’m really hungry.”

The moment he turned his gaze away, muttering, the scissors cut the seahorse’s body in two.
“Oops!”
Se-ah scratched her head with her left hand.

‘I was really bad at this kind of thing. Of course. there’s nothing better than doing something like this to take your mind off things.’

It was then that the door to the student council room opened.

Se-ah opened her eyes and saw a tall man. He was holding bags in both hands and water was dripping from all over his body, as if he wasn’t using an umbrella.

“Han Se-ah.”
It was former student body president Seonghan.

His term ended last year, but even this year, when he is a senior in high school., he often shows up to buy food for his juniors in the student council.

He walked slowly towards Se-ah.

“What about the other kids? Are they all gone?”
“It’s raining like this.”

A delicious smell came from the bag containing the incense.

“Don’t talk nonsense. you guys.”

Seonghan sat down.

“You?”
“Why didn’t you go? Seonghan asked with his eyes. Se-ah stretched out the corners of her mouth.

“Because I don’t really want to go.”

There is no such thing as a family where other people live. I am just avoiding it now. It is the most comfortable to be like this.

Seonghan and Se-ah weren’t very close, but they weren’t on bad terms either.

When they worked together on student council, Seonghan would always tease Se-ah. and Se-ah would always fight back.

So, rumors started to spread within the student council. saying, “Are they dating?” and “We’re secretly dating.” However, Se-ah had never met Seong-han alone.

Se-ah said in a calm voice,
“I’m not afraid of rain.”

Seonghan slightly avoided Se-ah’s eyes that were staring at him. Then he placed the bag on the desk.
“Eat.”
“What is all this?”

Se-ah asked as she quickly sat down with the bag.

Tteokbokki. sundae. kimbap. pizza, chicken, fried chicken. There was all kinds of food there. It was enough to feed ten people.

“This senior is telling me to burst my stomach and die before our festival.”

“I don’t know what you’ll like.”

“Are you a chaebol (big company)? That comment is a bit old-fashioned.”

Seonghan’s face, which had momentarily froze at the word ‘chaebol’. relaxed again at Se-ah’s innocent smile.

“I just need one tteokbokki.”

“Eat some more? Don’t be ashamed of the chaebol you brought.”

Se-ah burst into laughter again at Seong-han’s words.

“Are you really a chaebol?”

Seonghan didn’t respond to those words.
Seonghan opened a restaurant selling kimbap. sundae. and tteokbokki.

“This place has delicious kimbap.”
Se-ah picked up a piece of kimbap and put it in her mouth. Seonghan stared blankly at her trembling mouth.

“Senior, you eat it too,”

“okay.”
Seonghan also put a piece of kimbap in his mouth. The way he chewed slowly was somehow different. There was no squeaking sound. and the way he moved his jaw was elegant.

Are you a real chaebol?

Sea smiled brightly. It seems like it was influenced by the recent trending song. “You Are More Beautiful than Flowers.” Anyone can sing along.

Seonghan, who had been eating silently, opened his mouth again.

“Do you have an umbrella?”
“no”
“It’s raining, how are you going to get home?”

Se-ah had an ambiguous expression on her face as if she hadn’t thought about it before answering with a calm expression.

“Can’ t I just stay here? I don’t want to bother changing into my uniform.”

“You’re going to be here until tomorrow morning?”

Seonghan laughed as if he was amazed. but Se-ah didn’t say anything else.

After eating and cleaning up, seonghan gave the uneaten food to the teachers who happened to be at school. After that, the hallway became completely dark.

Only then did Seonghan speak with a serious expression on his face.

“I called a taxi. I’ll stop by your house on the way so I’ll drop you. Let’s ride together.”
“Really? I won’t refuse.”

Se-ah didn’t want to go in even at night. but she was afraid that Seonghan would get suspicious, so she answered obediently.

Just as she was about to leave after cleaning up the student council room.
Suddenly there was thunder and lightning.

“Mom.”

Se-ah was so surprised that she unconsciously grabbed Sunghan’s shoulder. Sunghan stood still but didn’t push her away either.

“Ugh. I’m sorry.”

Sea quickly came to her senses and backed away from Seonghan.

“Are you okay?”

Seonghan looked at Se-ah blankly and asked.

Se-ah quickly closed and opened her eyes
In an instant. hot and humid air flowed between them. What is this?

Seonghan’s handsome face and tall height were always prominent. There were times when her heart would pound at the smell of his scent as he passed by.

When they teased her for no reason. She would pretend like nothing happened and accept it. but when her student council friends asked, ‘Doesn’t your senior like you?’, she would blush for no reason.

“Yes, it’s okay. What else could be wrong?”

Se-ah deliberately avoided his eyes as she spoke. pretending as if nothing had happened.

As she passed through the main entrance, the floor was wet. It seemed as if rain had poured in through the half-open door due to the wind.

Se-ah intentionally walked quickly to avoid awkwardness. but her body tilted again because she stepped on water.

This time, Seonghan caught Se-ah’s staggering body.

She fell over and almost got her skirt wet. but luckily it was okay.

However, the degree to which Sunghan’s body was in closer contact with hers was more severe than before.
Shoulders, back. and legs.

‘What should I do with this atmosphere?’ A careless voice was heard in Se-ah’s ear as she slowly left Seong-han’s body.

“To this extent, isn’t it intentional?”
At those words se-ah, who had been resisting his existence, suddenly moved away from him, she grumbled.

“No. That’s not true. You’re the one holding me back right now!”
“You spilled water here.”
“Am I God? Can I make it rain?”

Seonghan smiled silently at those words.
The pouring rain. the low laughter. and the warmth that lingered all over her body.
Something I’ve never felt at home.

What is this feeling? Se-ah felt her heart beating faster than usual. Even though she hadn’t fallen or run.

Se-ah’s short bob hair swayed back and forth in the wind and rain. Her half-wet hair scratched her face, causing her to frown, but Seonghan raised his hand.

Is it because of instinct?
As Seonghan’s hand came closer. Se-ah unconsciously flinched.

But instead of hitting her like those who Se-ah was used to would do, Seong-han straightened the hair that was stuck to her face.

Se-ah’s eyes turned to Seonghan.
The moment their eyes met.
Suddenly. Seonghan messed up her hair that he had been tidying up with his hand.

His vision was immediately obscured.
“What are you doing!”
Seonghan’s low laughter was heard mixed with Se-ah’s voice.

After that, Se-ah couldn’t hear the sound of the rain anymore. For a moment. She felt as if she was very far away from the rainy world.

Before she knew it. Seonghan’s lips were close to hers. and Se-ah closed her eyes without saying a word.

Seonghan licked her lips once with his tongue and buried his lips in Se-ah’s.
It wasn’t a deep. passionate kiss. It was just a light brush of her lips.
And yet. She felt that only her body was covered with warmth in this rainy world.

It was a time that felt like eternity

Se-ah looked at Seonghan’s outstretched hand.
Like a lie.
He was a tycoon. It was after he left that I learned the truth I had never known.

After playing with people’s hearts like that, he went to study abroad without saying a word.

Se-ah didn’t extend her hand.

She bowed deeply in front of Seonghan.

“Our teacher Han Se-ah. She’s the pride of our school. She won the Excellent Teacher Award last year too. Haha. her college grades were top. and she graduated as the topper as well. I think?”

Se-ah’s face turned red.

The university she went to was a local national university. Because she couldn’t afford tuition, she had to go to a place that provided scholarships and dormitory fees.

Se-ah lowered her eyes.

“I feel relieved that we have such an excellent teacher at our school. Please teach us a lot in the future, teacher.”

Seonghan slowly lowered his hand, which was not touching Se-ah.

Then he looked at Se-ah’s shaking hands. Seonghan’s lips drew a soft curve.

“In that sense. I would like to ask the teacher to give me a tour of the school.”

Se-ah opened her eyes.
“Before work, shouldn’t we know where things are? So. I would like Teacher Han Se-ah to give us some guidance.”
