Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Hospital Lab

The group pressed on after their victory over the mutated alligator, their steps echoing through the now eerily quiet sewers. Annette Birkin led the way, her demeanor cold and focused. Azizah kept a close eye on her, knowing the scientist's motivations were far from altruistic.

"We're close," Annette said, her voice cutting through the silence. "The lab entrance is just ahead."

Azizah glanced at Leon and Kevin, who were both on edge. Claire kept Sherry close, shielding her from the filth and dangers of their surroundings. Ada, as always, walked silently, her calculating gaze flicking between Annette and the path ahead.

The Lab Entrance

After a few more tense minutes of walking, they reached a large metal door embedded in the sewer wall. Annette stepped forward, swiping a keycard through the reader. The door hissed and slid open, revealing a dimly lit corridor lined with sterile white tiles.

"This is it," Annette said, stepping inside. "Welcome to Umbrella's Hospital lab."

The group followed her, their weapons at the ready. The air inside was cold and sterile, a stark contrast to the filth of the sewers. Azizah's system chimed softly in her mind.

System Update:

New Objective: Retrieve the Vaccine

Challenge: Protect All Survivors During Lab Infiltration

Reward: 50 Points + 2 Gacha Spins

---

Azizah clenched her fists. This was going to be one of the most dangerous parts of their journey, and the stakes had never been higher.

The Lab's Secrets

As they moved deeper into the lab, Annette began typing on a console, unlocking doors and bypassing security protocols. The corridors were eerily quiet, the only sounds coming from the hum of machinery and the distant hiss of pressurized air.

"This place is huge," Kevin muttered, his shotgun at the ready. "How are we supposed to find the vaccine in all of this?"

"I know where it is," Annette replied curtly. "Follow me."

Leon frowned. "Why are you helping us? What's in this for you?"

Annette stopped, turning to face the group. Her expression was unreadable. "You don't understand. My husband—William—was a brilliant scientist, but his obsession with the G-virus consumed him. He's a monster now, and it's my fault. The vaccine is the only way to fix this. To save Sherry."

Azizah studied Annette carefully. There was a glimmer of truth in her words, but it was clear that guilt and desperation were driving her more than anything else.

"You created this mess," Ada said coldly. "Don't expect sympathy."

Annette's eyes narrowed. "And what about you? Are you really FBI, or are you just here for your own agenda?"

The tension in the room was palpable. Azizah stepped in before things could escalate further. "Enough. We don't have time for this. Annette, lead the way."

The Research Lab

Annette guided them to a large, reinforced door labeled "Bioweapons Research." Inside, rows of lab equipment and glowing test tubes lined the walls. At the center of the room was a containment chamber with a single vial of blue liquid inside.

"That's the vaccine," Annette said, moving to the console. "I need time to unlock the containment system. Cover me."

Azizah nodded, motioning for the others to spread out and secure the room. Her system chimed again, a stark warning flashing across her vision.

Warning:

Hostile Entities Detected

Entities: Lickers (x3), G-Type Mutants (x2)

Prepare for Combat

---

"They're coming," Azizah said, gripping her baton tightly. "Get ready!"

The first wave hit hard. Three Lickers crawled along the walls and ceiling, their razor-sharp claws tearing through the air. Azizah launched into action, her enhanced reflexes allowing her to dodge their attacks and counter with devastating kicks. Leon and Kevin provided covering fire, their bullets finding their marks with practiced precision.

"Keep them away from the console!" Azizah shouted, her voice cutting through the chaos.

Ada moved with deadly efficiency, her shots precise and lethal. Claire stayed close to Sherry, shielding her from the battle while firing at any creature that got too close.

As the last Licker fell, a guttural roar echoed through the lab. Two G-Type mutants lumbered into the room, their grotesque forms pulsing with mutations.

"Focus fire on the weak spots!" Azizah commanded, her system highlighting the creatures' glowing tumors.

The fight was brutal. The mutants were relentless, their massive claws tearing through the lab as the group struggled to hold them back. Azizah used her system-enhanced skills to land critical strikes, while Leon and Kevin unleashed a barrage of gunfire.

Finally, with a deafening roar, the last mutant collapsed, its body twitching before falling still.

The Vaccine Secured

"It's done!" Annette called out, her voice strained. She carefully removed the vial from the containment chamber and turned to the group. "This is it. The vaccine."

Azizah approached her, her breathing heavy. "Is it enough to stop the infection?"

Annette nodded. "Yes, but we need to get it to a secure location. If William finds us, he'll destroy it."

As if on cue, the lab shook violently, and a familiar roar echoed through the facility.

"He's here," Annette whispered, her face pale.
