[41] The Sail of Ohara…!
Chapter 41: The Sail of Ohara…!
—
The moon was bright, and the beautiful sky was filled with countless stars. This scenery was most enjoyable by the seaside, where both the sea and even the sand reflected that light to create a sort of celestial glow.
The sea was a tranquil and peaceful place at this moment. The sound of waves crashing against the shore was soothing and the cool sea breeze was refreshing.
The forest near the seashore was illuminated by the light, and if anyone was present there they would not want to sleep, unwilling to miss a single second of this scene.
However, Nico Robin wasn’t ‘anyone’ she was indeed sleeping. At least she was trying to. With her body laid on top of a hammock, Nico Robin had an open book resting over her face to stop all the luminous light from distracting her.
Yet, she couldn’t sleep.
“Can’t sleep?” Copy-rama noticed her hand twitching and said. “Don’t worry, the Main should be on his way here.”
Robin’s limp body regained all lost energy hearing that, and she jumped to sit up. Removing the book from her face, she looked to the side where Hashirama the clone was sitting by a campfire.
He was eating a large chicken dumpling; surprisingly Karoo the duck was sitting beside him and was also eating one.
“…You know what, I am not even gonna bother asking why a duck is eating chicken meat.” Robin sighed, just as the duck quacked. “What you said just now, is that true? How long will it take your Main to come here?”
“Mhm-mhmm!” Copy-rama tried to say something, but due to the food stuffed in his mouth, he didn’t make any sense.
Robin patiently waited for him to finish, her eyebrows twitching a little, as he finally spoke comprehensible words.
“I think,” Copy-rama raised a finger straight up at the sky. “He is already here.”
– Fhurr~

Vivi has seen the world from the sky before. When she was a child, she would often hop onto Pell the Knight’s back and he would take her around the city in the sky.
However, she had never left the city like this. This was her first time, more so in the embrace of someone she loved. So the experience was exhilarating.
Hashirama’s [Emerald Wings] was a direct result of a study of the Bird-Bird Fruit Model: Falcon. That was great for flying, even in its hybrid form. So Hashirama studied Pell in his hybrid form to make wings for himself.
At first, the flights were dangerous since he lacked vision like birds, therefore navigating was hard. But that was easily fixed with Observation Haki. In fact, Hashirama used this flight training rampage to train that side of his Haki.
However, it did cost him a few dozen broken limbs every time he failed. Thankfully, that’s where his healing factor came in clutch.
By now, this was a mastered Jutsu, so Hashirama could pop out these wings anytime anywhere. He was just like Pell, except he didn’t need a devil fruit.
The more time passed, Hashirama understood why this power was considered so mighty in the Naruto anime.
“Hey, is that a ship?!” Vivi suddenly reacted, her hand pointing at the large ship that was resting by the seaside. “Yeah, that’s a huge ship!”
Hashirama was flying over the forest at the end of Alabasta’s island. On the seashore near it, a large wooden ship, majestic in form, stood and wavered with the gentle waves.
“Yup. Let’s land now.” Hashirama nodded and lowered the flight.
Dropping to his feet near the campfire, the fire was blown out due to the wind from his wings. The clone gave him a deadpan look while his wings got retracted into his back.
Hashirama ignored the clone and gently dropped Vivi to her feet; her lips widened when she noticed Robin sitting on a hammock just to the side. But before Vivi could run forward to hug Robin, the duck sitting nearby jumped to cuddle with her with a quack.
“Karoo!”
“Oh, it’s Karoo!” Vivi hugged the duck back. “I’ve been looking for you for two days…! Hashirama said he sent you on a chore, and that I’ll meet you on the night of my birthday. Looks like he was on point!”
“Hello, Vivi.” Robin smiled as she too dropped to her feet. Vivi said a hi back, while Robin looked at Hashirama. “What’s this now?”
Hashirama ignored her. The clone approached him and raised his hand for a high-five. The high five happened, their two hands connecting, as the clone vroomed into the Main’s hand. In a second, nothing of the clone remained, while the Main received all the memories of the last two days.
With these new memories, Hashirama looked at the ship floating just nearby.
“Nice ship, looks majestic.” Hashirama smiled, turning to shrug as Robin was about to speak. “I know, I know. You’re welcome.”
Robin closed her mouth and sighed.
* * *
“Treasure Tree Adam” is a type of tree whose wood is considered the strongest, highest-quality wood in the world. Its immense rarity makes it highly valuable, being considered a great treasure.
As a tree human who could make any tree given he had enough knowledge of its structure and qualities, Hashirama surely wanted to be able to make this sort of wood. Sadly, the information about the Adam Tree was scarce, as the last living tree of this kind was obliterated two decades ago, on the island of Ohara.
Occasionally, the wood is sold on the black market, at a very high price given its value. The price easily went as high as 200 million berries, at the least. Hashirama had the money, for sure, but sadly he lacked connection in the black market to get his hands on it.
So until yesterday, he had never managed to create this sort of wood. Not once. Not until he reunited with Robin; who just so happened to be someone who used to live inside the same exact tree when it was alive.
“So you know, it is I who should say ‘you’re welcome’.” Robin said with a shrug, making her way up to the ship. “Without my intellectual expertise, without me explaining even the intricate details of this tree, you could never have recreated this tree and made a ship out of it.”
“Hey, but you also have to consider the emotional factor right? Without me, even that knowledge wouldn’t have let you see what you saw.” Hashirama followed behind her and said in a matter-of-fact voice. “Doesn’t this feel very nostalgic? You’re going to live inside something made out of the Adam Tree, just like the library of Ohara. I believe I am the one who should be thanked.”
“….”
Unlike what he expected, Robin didn’t argue. She just paused in her path, at the end of the stairs that led up to the ship. After a moment, she continued her way up, setting foot on this ship that looked so much like her home.
Hashirama dropped to his feet behind her and apologized. “Sorry if my joke went a bit too far.”
“No, you’re right,” Robin turned around to look at him. As the moonlight shone over her head, the tears in the corner of Robin’s eyes glowed. “I really am thankful.”
“That’s reassuring,” Hashirama smiled. “With that, may I announce the name of this ship? I was thinking of naming it… The Sail of Ohara.”
Robin blinked and a wide smile appeared on her face. “That sounds… fantastic.” She quickly wiped the droplets before they could grow. “By the way, when you said I am going to live here, did you…”
“You’re going to travel with me, even after we rescue Mikita. Do you not want to go to Wano with me, and see just what’s up with that place?” Hashirama didn’t wait for her to answer and instead turned around to the stairs.
Gently, he reached out a hand. A pale hand accepted his hand as Hashirama pulled Vivi up at the deck.
He said, “Along with this princess, one day we are gonna travel to Wano and more.”
Karoo the duck jumped up behind Vivi, as both it and Vivi screamed.
“Wait, what?!”
“K-karoo?!”
Hashirama frowned. “What? Why are you so surprised?”
“I-I just thought we were taking a stroll around the country?!” Vivi questioned too, “I thought you were going to say something romantic like ‘Hey, this is the ship we will roam the sea by on our honeymoon…’ or something like that!”
“Oh.” Hashirama blinked.
“You two got married?” Robin asked with a surprised face. “Congratulations to Hashirama, and my condolences to Vivi.”
“Please shut up,” Hashirama ignored Robin and looked at Vivi.
For a moment, her face was agape and pale.
Seeing that, he sighed and pulled her towards him by the waist. “If that’s the case, fuck you and fuck Alabasta. From today onwards, I am a pirate, and I have you kidnapped.”
Hashirama’s hand grabbed both of Vivi’s wrists together, and just as he yanked his hand back, a round cuff was left on her wrist. This was his take on a certain Marine’s Cage-Cage Fruit.
“Wait- Hashirama, let’s talk this through-”
Vivi was shocked, and as she tried to say something Hashirama shoved his forearm horizontally ‘through’ her face. It left a thin, almost paper-like wrapping around her mouth.
“Mhmmm!!”
With her arms chained behind her and her mouth shut, Vivi realized Hashirama wasn’t joking. She kicked the deck and tried to escape by running down the stairs. Her movement was so fast that Robin’s eyes lost her, she seemingly vanished as she jumped up to run.
However, Hashirama grabbed her by the leg that was in the air and pulled her down, slamming her face to the floor.
“Mghhk-!”
With his other hand, Hashirama brought her ankles together. She struggled but didn’t manage to stop him from locking her legs in a similar fashion.
“K-Karoo…!” The duck was left confused, unsure if it should attack its ‘father’ for domestic violence against its ‘mother’. Hashirama gave it a gentle gaze and nodded, as the duck calmed down. “Karoo…”
“Viv, my inseparable love.” Hashirama pulled her by the leg and threw her against the outer wall of a room that was on top of the deck. Seeing her groan in pain, Hashirama helped her sit straight and smiled. “I still love you, but you have to stay like this until we are far from the land. Okay?”
“Mhmm-mhmmm!!!!” Vivi’s eyes shook with lights of anger and betrayal. When a hurt look appeared on Hashirama’s face, hurt that she would think he was betraying her, only then did Vivi’s look vanish. “…Mm-mmh!”
That meant ‘fuck you’ no matter how Hashirama looked at it.
“Not yet, Luv.” Hashirama stood up. “I have someone to rescue. We can fuck and do more, after that. Alright?”
“You are a fucking bastard. I am telling you just in case you didn’t know yourself.” From the back, unfitting to her character, Robin cursed as she gave Vivi a pitying look. “Once again, my condolences.”
“Thank you, but I reckon I am a much better man now.” Hashirama smiled and ignored her.
He turned to face the sea, and clasping his hands, he released his chakra.
– Shiuuuung!
Robin nearly fell to her ass due to the sudden spike of invisible energy. Hashirama’s hair fluttered upwards as if a fan was beneath him, and his green eyes shone brighter and brighter.
With a loud shift in the sea, the ship that was being poured chakra into began to move. Robin’s eyes were wide as she watched the huge thing move even with wind working opposite it, and her surprise only grew when the ship began to take a speed beyond belief.
“GodSpeed to me, you, and my kidnapped Vivi,” Hashirama said and stopped clasping his hands. “Let’s hope the journey goes far smoother than the start.”
From Vivi’s spot on the ground, she watched his large back loosen a bit. The moon shone right ahead of him, huge in size, and his hair fluttered with the wind.
At last, as the ship continued sailing, Vivi sighed and noted to punch him in the face at least once after she was freed.
