In Game of thrones with Sci fi Military system

Chapter 12: new mission

Morning light streamed through the cracks in the wooden shutters, illuminating the sparse room. Alex stretched, his muscles aching slightly from the previous day. As he opened his eyes, he noticed Leon and Raven silently donning their armor. Despite being summoned from the system, they still required basic sustenance and rest to function effectively.

Their movements were precise, almost ritualistic, as they strapped on their greaves and secured their swords. Alex sat up, watching them for a moment before a familiar chime echoed in his mind.

[New Task Issued!]

Objective: Eliminate the Magistrates of Pentos and establish your own rule over the city.

Rewards:

10,000 Credits

Finance Management Team

Laws Management Team

Small Warship (Equipped with 30mm machine guns, standard navigation and defense 8features, and a fully trained crew)

Time Limit: 3 Months

Alex's eyes widened as he read through the task. The rewards were beyond anything he'd received so far. A warship with a crew? Credits that could purchase nearly anything in the system? Teams to manage an entire city's finances and laws? It was an offer he couldn't ignore.

But the task was monumental. Pentos was ruled by powerful magistrates, men of influence, wealth, and armies. Taking over a city was no small feat, and the three-month time limit added even more pressure.

He rubbed his temples, excitement and nerves battling for dominance in his chest. "This is insane," he muttered to himself.

Raven turned slightly, his voice deep and steady. "Master, is everything all right?"

Alex nodded slowly. "Yes… just thinking about the next step."

He turned his attention to Daenerys, who was still asleep on the bed, the dragon eggs carefully tucked beside her. She looked peaceful, her youthful face free from the worries that usually shadowed it.

"Not for long," Alex thought grimly. He approached her and gently shook her shoulder.

"Daenerys," he said softly.

Her eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at him with a mixture of grogginess and confusion. "What is it?" she asked.

Alex sat on the edge of the bed, his tone serious. "There's been a change of plans."

Daenerys frowned, sitting up. "What do you mean?"

He sighed, choosing his words carefully. "The city we're in—Pentos—it's ruled by corrupt men called magistrates. They control everything, from trade to laws, and they answer to no one. If we're going to survive here, we can't just hide and hope for the best. We need to take control."

Her eyes widened. "Take control? Of the whole city?"

Alex nodded. "Yes. It's not just about survival anymore. If we do this, we'll have the resources and power to protect ourselves, to move freely without fear of being hunted. And for you, it's a chance to learn what it means to rule."

Daenerys hesitated, her hands instinctively reaching for one of the dragon eggs. "How? There are so many of them. And we're just…" She trailed off, glancing at the knights. "You and your magic can't be enough, can it?"

Alex smirked. "I've got more than just magic," he said. "The system has given me a plan, and it's going to take everything we have—and more—to pull it off."

He stood, pacing the room. "We'll need soldiers. I can recruit more knights, unsullied, and even modern soldiers if necessary. We'll need to gather intelligence, find their weaknesses, and strike when they least expect it."

Daenerys watched him, a mixture of fear and admiration in her eyes. "And me?"

"You'll learn," Alex said firmly. "You'll see what it takes to rule a city, to make decisions that affect thousands of lives. This will be your first step toward becoming the queen you're meant to be."

Her expression hardened, a flicker of determination replacing her doubt. "I'll do what I can," she said.

Alex nodded, satisfied. "Good. We'll need to move carefully and quickly. The magistrates won't see us coming, but when they do, it'll be too late."

He turned to Raven. "Stay here and guard Daenerys. Leon will be back soon with food. Once he's here, we'll start planning our next move."

As Alex opened the system menu to explore more options, he couldn't help but feel the weight of the task ahead. But the rewards were worth it.

Alex sat at the wooden table, the dim light of the lantern flickering over the room. Daenerys sat nearby, quietly contemplating the plan, her fingers gently tracing the smooth surface of the dragon egg. The knights, Leon and Raven, were standing guard at the door, silent but ready.

He opened the system interface in front of him and navigated to the Intel section. His eyes skimmed through the various options, finally settling on the Magistrates of Pentos.

He knew the next step had to be intelligence. To attack without knowledge was suicide, and with three months on the clock, he couldn't afford any mistakes. His credits were still plentiful from the previous missions, but he had to be smart about how he spent them.

"System," Alex muttered, almost to himself. "How much would it cost to get the names and locations of all the magistrates here in Pentos?"

[Cost: 50 Credits]

The price wasn't much, and Alex didn't hesitate. He confirmed the payment.

Immediately, the system responded.

[Intel Accessed]

Magistrates of Pentos:

Magister Belven – Location: Eastern district of Pentos, near the docks. Known for his connections to various traders and smugglers, particularly in the import of exotic goods.

Magister Faldor – Location: Central Pentos, near the main square. Faldor's family has been in power for generations. A conservative ruler, but feared for his ruthless dealings in law enforcement and taxes.

Magister Tiber – Location: Southern Pentos, by the Old Quarter. A man of mystery and intrigue, rumored to have ties to the criminal underworld. He's known for his lavish parties and excessive spending.

Magister Phaeros – Location: Western Pentos, near the Great Temple. A religious zealot who controls access to Pentos' most sacred sites. Often seen as a figurehead in the city, but his influence is deeply rooted.

Magister Orven – Location: Northern Pentos, near the outskirts. A recluse, rarely seen in public, but said to control much of the city's defenses.

Alex studied the list for a moment, absorbing the information. It was a solid start, but the key to success lay in understanding not just their locations but when they would be vulnerable.

"System," Alex asked, his mind already formulating plans. "What's the best time to strike?"

The system responded almost instantly.

[Recommended Time: Night before the Festival of the Maiden of Sea]

The Festival of the Maiden of Sea is an annual event that takes place in a month, celebrating the maritime history of Pentos. During this time, the magistrates will gather to celebrate, making it the perfect opportunity for an attack. However, be warned—while there will be fewer private guards, the city will be swarming with festival guards and mercenaries hired for the event. It is a time of great security, but also the best chance for you to act unnoticed amidst the chaos.

Alex's mind raced. The festival would give him the perfect cover to eliminate the magistrates. The gathering of so many influential figures in one place would make it difficult for anyone to suspect that the city was under attack. But, as the system warned, the guards would be in greater numbers. He'd need to be prepared for a fight, and that meant more than just using his system's tools—he'd need to think strategically.

"A month," Alex muttered. "I've got a month to get ready."

He looked at Daenerys, who had been listening intently. "The Festival of the Maiden of Sea," he explained. "It's when most of the magistrates will gather. I'll take them out one by one, but we'll need to move quickly and quietly."

Daenerys nodded, but there was still hesitation in her eyes. "And after that? What will we do once we've taken control of Pentos?"

Alex sat back, taking a deep breath. "Once the magistrates are out of the picture, we'll need to fill the power vacuum. We'll need to establish our own rule, and that means we'll need more than just force—we'll need allies. We'll need to be strategic, not just in taking control but in keeping it."

He stood, pacing the room. "I've already got a plan. I'll recruit more soldiers, more knights and unsullied, and I'll use the rewards from this mission to keep us funded. We'll need to buy weapons, recruit people, and prepare for the chaos that's sure to follow" He thought.

Daenerys looked up at him, determination creeping into her voice. "What about the dragons?"

Alex paused, his eyes locking with hers. "The dragons are key to all of this. Once we've established control, we'll need to train them and use them wisely. They're a symbol of power, but they can also be weapons if used correctly."

Daenerys smiled slightly, her confidence growing. "Then I'll learn. I'll do whatever it takes to be ready."

Alex nodded. "Good. We don't have a lot of time, but with the right planning, we can do this."

He glanced back at the system interface, reviewing the information on the magistrates again. "One month. We'll need to be ready by then. But before we can strike, I need to prepare—recruit soldiers, gather resources, and plan the attack. And I'll need to stay under the radar, keep it all as quiet as possible."

Leon and Raven had finished their preparations and were now standing at attention, awaiting further orders.

"All right," Alex said, turning back to them. "We've got a month. Let's make the most of it."

As the knights nodded and began their duties, Alex stood by the window, staring out at the sprawling city of Pentos. The plan was set in motion, and there was no turning back now.

The city would soon be his.
