Immortality Starts From Making Money.

Chapter 234: Each With Their plans.

"What do you mean you haven't found the owner of the restaurant?" A thick, cold voice erupted inside the Zhou clan grand hall.

A couple of feet from the Zhou clan patriarch, a fat middle-aged man was kneeled, his head hitting the ground. His back was drenched in cold sweats.

Anyone who knew this man would be stunned. This was the manager of the Nine Star Restaurant.

In the imperial capital, many would do anything just to gain the attention of this man. Yet, here he was, kneeling and trembling in front of the Zhou patriarch.

Unknown to many, the fame and wealth the man enjoyed was given to him by the Zhou ancient clan.

As one of the seven ancient clans, the Zhou clan could command wind and rain in the imperial capital.

The Nine Star manager was nothing but their puppet in charge of one of their businesses.

For many years, the Zhou clan had a tight control over the restaurant business. Especially over Spirit Food.

The recipe for a Spirit Food was strictly guarded. But now, some unknown restaurant appeared out of nowhere trying to take food from the lion's mouth.

To the Zhou clan, this was a slap in their face.

With the Assembly summit about to start, how could the Zhou clansmen raise their heads proudly during the summit.

"I'll give you one more day…." The Zhou patriarch paused and squinted his gaze. "If you fail, just kill yourself."

Whoosh!

He waved his hand and a powerful force threw the Nine Star manager out of the Zhou clan estate.

Bang!

He crashed heavily on the cold hard ground and rolled a couple of meters before he came to a stop.

He got on his feet and dusted off the dirt as if nothing happened. But the sharp glint in his eyes spoke volumes of what was going on in his heart.

Meanwhile inside the Zhou clan grand hall, a seductive woman had already entered.

She looked at the patriarch and a sweet mesmerizing smile played on her lips.

"Oh, Hubby, you don't have to stress yourself." She said and reached out to hold his hand.

The Patriarch looked at her and a slight frown on his face melted. He had many wives but he loved spending time with her the most.

"Do you have any solution?" He asked.

She sat on his lap and smiled coquettishly. "Just some unknown restaurant. Just send someone to hold back Broken Blade and you can have the chance to deal with them. It's that simple."

The Patriarch creased his brow but did not respond.

"Hubby, you don't have to think too much." She rested her head on his chest and continued.

"After we kill them and find out the secret of their Spirit Food recipe. We can easily give Broken Blade some reward. I don't believe he would go to war for a mere restaurant."

"Besides, our clan is not scared of him. Moreover, we can invite many powerhouses to pressure him into submission." She raised her head and looked at the Patriarch with the same enchanting smile.

"You see, you don't have to sweat it."

"Hahahaha. I know you will have a solution. That's my beautiful, adorable wife." He grinned and wrapped his strong arm around her thin waist.

"For your reward, let's go to my room."

Hearing this, her face reddened with shyness, lowering her head.

"You're too bad…" She slapped his chest.

Such an endearing action made the patriarch unable to control himself.

Whoosh!

The patriarch vanished from the grand hall, ready to quench the inner fire that was ready to consume him from inside out.

….

Tens of miles from the Imperial Capital, a secluded courtyard stood at the edge of a cliff.

Strong howls of wind echoed like beasts rampaging. Everywhere was strangely quiet.

However, inside the lone quiet a young man was facing an old man dressed in a worn-out black robe.

The old man had sparse hair and his eyes were hollow. He stared vacantly at the young man as if he was dead.

"What do you think is stopping me from siphoning life out of your body and feeding your body to my pet?" His voice was hoarse, dangerous, filled with killing intent.

"Elder Ghost, you might be cruel and dangerous but I'm betting on your curiosity." Mo Jian responded confidently.

"Do I think you can kill me? Yes." He continued, his voice calm and casual. "I'm just a weak ant, nothing compared to you."

"But I have one thing you so desire. One thing that might give you a chance to pursue the dao further and increase your lifespan."

Mo Jian continued, standing confidently before one of the dangerous old monsters on the continent.

The Ghost Palm.

He was much more terrifying than Broken Blade. The Ghost Palm was a crazy powerhouse that could do and undo.

His ghost palm could siphon life out of his opponent in seconds. According to legend, many powerhouses had tried to kill him for his cruel technique and cultivation.

Yet, they were injured under his terrifying Ghost Palm.

His Ghost Palm could devour lifeforce. A tiny Ghost Palm energy could kill tens of thousands of mortals.

The energy could multiply like parasites.

It was after repeated battles that the powerhouse came to an agreement. They banished outside the Imperial Capital and would not harm the people from the capital.

With the agreement, all the powerhouses turned a blind eye to Ghost Palm's cruel cultivation technique.

Many complained why the various powers would leave such evil cultivators alive. However, no one responded.

And after many years, everyone accepted the presence of Ghost Palm.

But now, a young man who was still green behind the ears was trying to reason with him.

If any of the powerhouses saw this. They couldn't help but pity Mo Jian.

Yet…

Mo Jian stood confidently before him with no fear.

"I don't know if you're stupid or arrogant. But before I decide." Ghost Palm brought his head closer to Mo Jian's face.

"Kid, tell me what do you think I need that will make me not to kill you right now?"
