Immortal System in Fantasy World

Chapter 5: I will handle this

Alex was startled when he heard that. He immediately let go of the princess and frowned, asking: "Is what you said true? Is Selvia okay?"

"She's fine, but… pretty badly injured."

After asking that question, Alex suddenly realized that the princess was still here.

He glanced at the princess; she looked at him with red, wet eyes as if she was about to cry.

What could be more painful than the husband she just married showing interest in another woman on their wedding night?

Alex also knew that what he had just done was wrong, so he tried to correct his mistake by asking again: "Are you sure Roland is a monster? He is just a useless person, without any talent; how could he be a monster?"

"Hero Alex, Miss Selvia herself told the story before she passed out."

Alex gritted his teeth upon hearing this: "I know; I will go to Miss Selvia's castle."

He stood up and hurriedly got dressed. But when he saw the princess crying, he sighed and said, "Princess, don't be sad. Because this matter involves one of the people who summoned me here, I have to go and deal with it."

"Really?" the princess said, crying.

"Of course." Alex smiled and spoke as he reached out his hands and caressed the princess's beautiful face: "I love you; you know how much I love you, right?"

"Moreover… Selvia already has a fiancé; even though her fiancé is missing, her engagement was bestowed upon her by the king; it cannot be annulled."

When the princess heard that, her face broke into a happy smile: "Uhm! I know…"

"Okay! I need to go; you shouldn't be sad, understand?"

"Uh! I see, you have to be careful, Alex."

Alex smirked, bowed his head, and kissed her forehead before leaving the room.

Alex rode his horse, rushed to Selvia's castle in just thirty minutes, then went straight to her room.

As soon as he entered the room, he saw Selvia lying on the bed, her body bandaged everywhere, and he was angry.

Alex hurriedly went to Selvia's side and asked, "Is she okay? Is she seriously injured?"

A servant standing beside spoke up: "Miss Selvia is quite seriously injured and needs to rest for about a month."

At this moment, Selvia suddenly opened her eyes and looked at him: "Alex, finally… you came."

"I'm here…" Alex hurriedly grabbed Selvia's hand, his face filled with worry.

"Alex… Roland… Roland…" Selvia cried and said: "He is a devil… He wants to take me with him."

"But… I… I didn't accept it; that's why he wants to kill me."

"Luckily the guards appeared in time; otherwise… otherwise…"

Alex gritted his teeth before Selvia could finish speaking, the veins on his forehead clearly popping out: "Damn it! That piece of trash Roland…"

"Alex… don't look for him…" Selvia suddenly grabbed Alex's hand, trying to say: "He is terrible; he is a devil. If you look for him… he… he will kill you."

Alex smirked, his smile filled with disdain: "Huh! Can he kill me? Selvia, you should remember, I am a hero. Would a hero be afraid of demons?"

"Don't worry; I will find him, bring him here to kneel down, and apologise to you. Then, I will cut off his limbs, hang him in front of the city gate, and leave him to die in the sun."

Selvia smiled happily: "Thank you, Alex. You are really very kind. What a pity… I am already his fiancee… I… I…"

"Alright!" Alex quickly interrupted Selvia: "You don't need to say anymore; I know. Don't worry about the engagement; I will talk to the king again; he will definitely revoke your engagement."

"I promise you, I will bring you happiness and help you become the happiest woman in the world."

"Thank you, Alex." Selvia smiled happily, then gasped tiredly.

Alex saw that she was still tired and immediately said: "You rest first; I will find him very soon."

"Uhm! I believe you." Selvia nodded and smiled, her expression extremely docile like a kitten, making others want to just hold her in their arms and pet her.

As Alex went out, his face filled with murderous intent to the point that the surrounding soldiers did not dare to go near him.

"Hey! What happened that made you so angry?" A blond young man walked up to Alex, smiling as he spoke.

Beside him was a lovely black-haired girl and another black-haired young man wearing glasses.

"Where is the other one?" Alex frowned.

"Rebecca? She went hunting monsters in the forest; she probably won't be back until next week." The blond youth shrugged and said.

"Alex, what really happened?" the girl suddenly asked.

Alex gritted his teeth and said, "Anna, do you still remember Roland?"

"Of course." The girl named Anna nodded and said, "He was also summoned to this world like us; it's just… he wasn't as lucky as us."

"Luck?" Alex suddenly shouted: "This is the talent we possess; why do you say it is luck?"

"Oy! Oy! Do you have to be so angry?" The bespectacled youth spoke up, standing in front of Anna as if to protect her.

"Simon, you don't know what that bastard Roland has done." Alex gritted his teeth: "He sold his soul to the devil."

"Heh?! Impossible!" Anna suddenly shouted: "A gentle and friendly person like him, how could he do such a thing?"

"Anna, if you continue to protect him, you will be accused of covering up for the devil."

"Enough, Alex!" Simon spoke up: "Tell me clearly, what exactly did Roland do?"

Alex clenched his fists so hard that the veins on his hands stood out like tree roots.

"He became a devil and came back here to capture Selvia. However, she didn't want to go with him, so he wanted to kill her."

"Fortunately, the guards discovered it in time, so Selvia is still alive. However, Roland ran away, and his whereabouts are still unknown."

"What?!" Anna was startled, her hands covering her mouth, her face filled with horror: "Impossible! How could Roland do such a terrible thing?"

"Why not? Do you think Selvia is lying, did she hurt herself?" Alex shouted angrily, causing Anna to step back in fear.

"I… I didn't mean it like that. I…" Anna stammered.

"Okay, you don't need to yell like that." Simon frowned and said.

"Hahaha… how funny." At this moment, the blond youth laughed loudly: "It seems he is really jealous of us to the point of insanity."

"Lewis, now is not the time for you to joke around." Alex said angrily.

"Lewis is right," Simon said. "It seems… Roland was so jealous of us that he signed a contract with the devil."

"Heh?!" Anna asked in surprise: "Is there such a contract in this world?"

"That's right." Simon nodded and explained, "There is a type of contract that can be used by even ordinary people. However, it requires a lot of blood and life to be sacrificed."

"After the sacrifice conditions are met, a demon will be summoned, and they will bestow upon the summoner some kind of evil power."

"The person who received the power not only became stronger, but half of his soul turned into a demon."

"After a while, that person will completely become a devil. However, in order for that person to maintain his power, he needs to continue to sacrifice more blood and the lives of others."

"Perhaps… Roland came back not only to covet Selvia's beauty, but he also wanted to kill more people to sacrifice to the devil."

Anna covered her mouth with both hands, tears suddenly flowing out, her mouth stammering: "Impossible! How could he do such terrible things?

Alex didn't care about Anna; he gritted his teeth and said: "Even now, you still defend him, Anna?"

"I… just…"

"Ah! I see…" Lewis sneered at this moment: "Anna, you like him, right?"

"No! I don't like him." Anna quickly retorted.

"So why do you defend him?"

"It's just… I… I didn't think he would dare summon a demon." Anna stuttered.

"Alright." Simon sighed and said, "We don't need to stand here arguing. Everyone, remember, we are heroes, heroes who will destroy demons and the Demon King."

"Moreover, this matter is related to our group. No, it's not really related, but he came to this world with us; we also have to bear some responsibility."

Simon pushed his glasses up artistically and continued, "We will destroy him. who agrees?"

"Don't joke!" Alex said harshly: "I alone am enough; you don't need to interfere in this matter."

"Alex, even though I know you're angry, I also know you like Selvia." Simon frowned and said.

"How did you know I liked Selvia?" Alex was a little surprised; he looked at Simon and asked.

"Look at your expression right now and the fact that you secretly talked to her at your wedding this morning."

"You…" Alex gritted his teeth, wanting to say something, but Simon's voice rang out again, interrupting his words.

"Don't think I'm spying on you. Blame yourself and Selvia for being so obvious. Now, quite a few nobles have started spreading this story."

"Tsk!" Alex clicked his tongue: "Those trash are jealous of me, so they want to use this to smear me?"

Simon shook his head: "We don't need to care about that; our mission is only one, which is to destroy the Demon King and the demons."

"Although Roland was originally a useless, trashy person, he has turned into a monster; we need to be careful."

"He was able to leave Selvia's castle without being stopped by her soldiers, which proves how terrifying his power is."

"Huh!" Alex snorted in disdain, then walked past everyone and said, "I will handle this; you guys don't interfere."

Alex suddenly stopped, turned around, and glanced at them: "If you dare to interfere with this, I… will consider you as enemies."
