Immortal Creed

Chapter 257: Flag and Sword

Liens and the other two did not respond to Alfred, merely watching him warily, while taking advantage of this rare intermission to quickly recover from their injuries.

Leaving aside the other two, even Liens, who could sense killing intent to predict an opponent's attacks in advance, sustained serious injuries during the battle to intercept Alfred.

After just a few exchanges, Alfred had a general understanding of Liens' ability, but he did not adopt the method of absolute power and speed suppression used by Earl Bard.

Instead, through his powerful swordsmanship, he forced Liens to choose to receive his attacks even if he predicted their trajectory, because not receiving them would have more severe consequences.

As a result, Liens was hit almost as many times as the other two, and coupled with his relatively weaker defensive capabilities, his injuries were actually the most severe.

As a bottle of high-grade Healing Potion went down, a faint green light emanated from Liens' body, and the wounds on his chest and limbs, temporarily sealed by elements, began to heal.

Alfred glanced at him indifferently, not stopping him, but his expression grew slightly solemn as he looked towards the phantom of the military banner forming in the sky.

That was the Rebel Army's military banner: a spear as its finial, a black and red pole, a black main flag with a broken crimson ring enclosing a white-gold balance in the center.

The meaning of the flag was—facing the dark oppression of the kingdom's nobility, only through bloody battle could the desired equality be achieved.

Under the delay caused by Liens and the others, the military formation finally reached its critical final stage; in a little while, the phantom of the military banner, gathering the spiritual will of nearly a hundred thousand soldiers, would be complete.

Although it was not clear why Alfred stopped, the plan had progressed to such an extent, so the Rebel Army naturally would not cease.

Suddenly, three figures in black, white, and gray robes broke free from the entanglement of the clones and swiftly moved around Alfred, forming a triangle to surround him in the center.

These three were divine envoys representing the God of Absolute Fairness; of course, they were slightly different from the divine envoys in Kara City.

As second-tier powerhouses, equivalent to the existence of bishops, they had a widely known title—Priests.

Priests, as individuals within a religious sect who can directly communicate with the god they worship, can borrow the authority of their god, and among them, the High Priest is even equivalent to a god's earthly clone.

To some extent, Ben was also considered a Priest chosen by the God of Absolute Fairness before, but the time was too short, and he was unable to deeply control that power.

Furthermore, with Liens' arrival resolving the trouble in Kara City, the God of Absolute Fairness conveniently used that power for the ritual.

Seeing these three Priests, a flicker of anticipation flashed in Alfred's eyes, but it quickly returned to calmness, as the figure he was expecting did not appear.

"Are you still not going to make a move?"

Alfred muttered to himself, then swung out a massive sword ki slash towards one of the Priests.

In response, that Priest's expression was serious, but he still did not dodge or evade, nor did he make any defensive moves; he simply clasped his hands together, and the other two Priests almost simultaneously made the same gesture.

"Clap!"

As this faint clap, barely audible amidst the roaring battlefield, sounded, an orange-yellow triangular light barrier instantly formed, with the three Priests at its vertices.

The newly formed barrier blocked Alfred's sword ki, then swiftly converged on him, ultimately trapping him within a closed triangular prism space.

"Court of Judgment."

The Priest in all gray softly murmured, like the concluding remark of a divine spell; having spoken, the three Priests quickly left their original positions, knowing that this divine spell would not hold Alfred for long.

As for Liens and the other two, while the three Priests were jointly casting the divine spell, they blocked Alfred's clones for them and simultaneously moved away from the area.

Because soon, something big was about to happen.

The phantom of the military banner, suspended above the Rebel Army's forces, solidified; intense elemental reactions warped the surrounding space, and countless elemental light particles continuously converged, making it increasingly dazzling.

When its light reached a certain intensity, a light spear, even more dazzling than the sun, stood above all beings, becoming another striking light source.

"Prepare!"

Balder defeated the clones and returned to the army to issue commands; then, under the will of all the soldiers, the light spear adjusted its direction, its tip aimed at the orange-yellow triangular prism at the junction of the two armies.

Seeing this, the Extraordinary Ones on the kingdom's side wanted to stop what was about to happen, but they were all blocked by the Rebel Army's people.

They could only watch as the light spear, radiating intense elemental reactions, aimed at Alfred, who was trapped by the divine spell.

To those outside, Alfred seemed to be confined in a very small, enclosed space, but in his personal perception, he was in a very spacious Court of Judgment.

He stood in the center, the sinner about to be judged, and the one delivering and executing the judgment upon him was a colossal figure positioned high above.

That massive figure wore a divine official's robe, had no face, yet it did not make one feel fear; it only evoked the solemnity of rules, as if it should be so, and indeed must be so.

"It's a pity, just a phantom formed from broken authority, not the real person... Never mind, they should be ready, it's time to go out."

Facing this stern judgment, Alfred merely said this with a calm expression.

Having spoken, he swung his sword, slashing as if tearing through space, and the vast Court of Judgment shattered into countless mirror fragments falling into the void.

"Crack!"

This sound represented the shattering of the triangular prism light barrier, and also the dissipation of the "Court of Judgment"; along with it, Alfred's clones also dissipated.

As if knowing what was about to happen, Alfred recalled his external clones, gathering his power back to himself.

"Attack!"

Balder shouted the attack command, his voice, amplified by magic, simultaneously reaching the ears of all Rebel Army soldiers.

Immediately, the light spear, which had been preparing for a long time, erupted with an even more dazzling light, and a massive light cannon directly blasted towards the figure who had just broken free.

"Sword!"

A distant, serene voice echoed in the hearts of all beings.

In an instant, heaven and earth changed color.

The sky transformed into a lake surface, clearly reflecting all things and beings on the earth.

A colossal blue sword shape rose from the lake surface, meeting the massive light cannon.

Great sound is silence; an invisible shockwave warped space, spreading at a speed exceeding sound, clouds instantly dissipated, the earth continuously disintegrated, and a raging wind carrying dust obscured the world.

Then, a colossal, earth-shattering roar became the only sound heard by all living beings on this battlefield.

"Boom!"
