Chapter 4
Traveling from Er Bai Peak to other immortal mountains by foot was impractical. The sect regularly distributed Swift Travel Talismans, which, when powered by spiritual energy, could significantly speed up the user’s movement.
“Alright, Third Sister, you’re the richest among us. Without your spirit stones, the two of us wouldn’t have enough,” Cang Yu Ling said unabashedly, stretching out her delicate hand, her eyes forming crescent moons.
Cang Yu Ling and Xuan Yu needed most of their monthly allotment of spirit stones for cultivation, so naturally, they didn’t have as many as Han Xian’er.
Han Xian’er nodded in agreement.
Xuan Yu sighed: “If we spend all our spirit stones, how will we manage our cultivation for the next month? If we don’t progress, Master might punish us again.”
Hearing Xuan Yu’s sighs, Cang Yu Ling rolled her eyes playfully. She felt her sister was too sentimental, always seeing the downside in everything.
“Stop worrying, Sister. Let’s go get the spirit stones and buy the healing pills. How else can we treat our eldest sister’s injuries?”
Cang Yu Ling pulled the taller Xuan Yu, running towards the thatched cottages in the residential area of the mountain.
Er Bai Peak had three residential areas. The first area was for new disciples and servants. The second area housed outstanding disciples, and the third was the residence of Shen Shi, the Golden Core True Person.
Xuan Yu, Cang Yu Ling, and Han Xian’er resided in the first area, receiving five low-grade spirit stones monthly. Yue Li, due to her Level 9 Qi cultivation, lived in the second area and received twenty spirit stones monthly.
Despite Yue Li’s good treatment, no one envied her; instead, they sympathized because she was closest to the third area and often tasked by Shen Shi. Any mistake would lead to severe punishment.
Compared to the perilous second area, the first area was a haven, albeit with fewer spirit stones, but without the constant fear.
Cang Yu Ling and Xuan Yu admired Yue Li for her strength and gentleness despite her harsh treatment, often helping them and secretly giving them spirit stones for cultivation.
The second area, unlike the thatched cottages of the first, consisted of refined small buildings with red bricks and green tiles, intended to motivate disciples to strive for better living conditions.
However, on Er Bai Peak, this motivation was absent, with everyone avoiding the second area, fearing to attract undue attention.
As Shen Shi walked, covering tens of meters in a single step, he quickly reached the elegant buildings of the second area. He knew these buildings, predating his time in the sect, were not his doing.
Inside these buildings, there were spirit-gathering formations, making the spiritual energy inside double that of the outside world, a precious place for cultivation.
“Why don’t Cang Yu Ling and the others strive to move to the second area?” Shen Shi wondered, pushing open the door.
Entering, Shen Shi was confronted with a sight that shocked him. Feeling a surge of injury in his body, he hastily suppressed it with his immense power.
After a brief exchange of glances with the person inside, Shen Shi turned and fled.
“Blissful bloodlight,” he mused, looking up at the blue sky, wiping his nose and sensing the sweet, metallic smell.
“What is bliss? Bliss is a cat eating fish, a dog eating meat, and Shen Shi opening a door to find a beauty bathing.”
Shen Shi gazed at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle, hands clasped, sincerely praising.
“But those scars on her body were indeed shocking,” he sighed after his admiration.
The scene was fragrant, but Shen Shi was disturbed by the dense scars on Yue Li’s body, some so severe they were open and bleeding, the room filled with a strong medicinal scent, indicating she was taking a medicinal bath.
Shen Shi knew Yue Li was the only one who didn’t abandon him when everyone else did, feeling pained seeing her suffer.
“Don’t worry, this won’t happen again,” he resolved.
In the cozy boudoir
Yue Li sat in a large tub, her head submerged, only her black hair floating on the surface. Occasionally, bubbles emerged.
Yue Li’s mind was in chaos, thinking, “Master saw everything. What if he gets angry and does something terrible?”
After a while, needing air, she emerged, her face like a lotus flower rising from water. But below her beautiful face, including her sensual collarbones, were three shocking scars left by Shen Shi.
Misty, Yue Li, weakened and shocked, leaned against the tub, her graceful form visible beneath the pale blue water, appearing even more enticing.
“Has Master left?”
Yue Li seemed both relieved and inexplicably regretful.
Just as she was about to get up, the door burst open.
Shen Shi strode in,
causing Yue Li to hastily sit back, trembling in fear. Was the worst scenario unfolding?
Yue Li looked despairingly at Shen Shi, who was reaching for his waistband.
“Master, no, don’t! I’m your disciple.” Her eyes were filled with despair.
As Shen Shi approached, his shadow blocked the sunlight, casting a terrifying darkness.
Yue Li curled up in the tub, the water still warm, but her body felt cold.
“Maybe I’ll die if mistreated again,” she thought, aware of her frail condition.
“Lift your head!”
Shen Shi’s voice was hoarse, as if suppressing something.
Yue Li looked up in despair. Was her master finally showing his true colors?
But instead of the expected scenario, Shen Shi extended a hand, holding a round pill.
“Open your mouth,” his hoarse voice seemed irresistibly charming.
Yue Li obediently opened her mouth, her lips slightly parted, enticingly beautiful.
Shen Shi placed the pill in her mouth and swiftly left, using spiritual energy to vanish.
“Master?” Yue Li was dazed.
As the shadow dispersed, sunlight streamed back in, warming her.
Before Yue Li could recover, a powerful medicinal force erupted from her stomach.
She immediately began cultivating in the tub, healing her wounds.
