Chapter 29: Bet
Chapter 29: Bet
Looking at the scene of how an average rank beat an above-average in an instant shook Reinhardt. He couldn’t believe how unbelievable the strength that the Young Lord showed. His swordsmanship was unique as if it came from another world. However, that was not the only thing that he noticed, his strength was nothing compared to his rank or his age. It was parred to that of a person who uses mana to strengthen his strength.
“What if he used sword aura…”
Reinhardt quietly whispered in a hesitant voice. Scared of how the above-average ranked knights could even deal with him. “At such a young age… this is unbelievable…” Reinhardt couldn’t stop but wonder why he didn’t notice Alfonso’s talent.
‘Was it because of how he got broken from the engagement?’
Reinhardt thought, and soon, speculated that Alfonso might have awakened his talent for swords when he realized how useless he is from how he was humiliated by Valentina. Which made him who he is today.
“Monster…” Reinhardt muttered, couldn’t help but also notice just how every pose and movement when he destroyed the knight was all difficult to perform.
Why? Because of how perfect Alfonso’s poses and stance are, the way he slashes his sword is doubled. Reinhardt could only think how painful it was for Alfonso to perform those powerful slashes because as far as he can tell, Alfonso’s body is being used beyond his limit. Yet because of how much he has done it, his body got used to it and now comes to fruition.
As he was deep in his thought, a desire inside of him to test Alfonso’s strength arose. “This is interesting…” However, as he whispered those words, “Who is next?” Alfonso uttered but this time his words carried a weight on them and the way the knights looked at him.
Without wasting more time, another knight moved forward in the stage of the arena, the difference this time though, was that the mock he had worn was now serious and full of anticipation.
“That knight let his guard down but that won’t happen this time” The knight yelled as he sheathed his wooden sword.
“Piercing thrust!” He continued. Soon a man with the speed of a cheetah ran toward Alfonso. In a blink of an eye, the man reached Alfonso as his sword started to approach him.
However, before his sword could even touch Alfonso, the boy suddenly twisted his body sideward spinning as it gained momentum on striking the knight’s face with the bottom of the wooden sword.
SPRUCK!!!
The man then stood back as he felt his head spinning from the impact of Alfonso’s handle sword. But before he could recover, the boy quickly attacked him again. In an instant, the knight immediately put all of his strength on his feet to jump back and dodge the boy’s attack. His effort was for nought though, because Alfonso quickly caught up to him. Realizing that he cannot get away. The knight raised his wooden sword to block his attack after he recovered a little.
PAAKK!!! PAAK!!!
The continuous sound of the wooden sword hitting his sword then echoed all over the place. The man could only grit his teeth and admit that the kid in front of him was strong. He thought that he was a spoiled noble because of the rumours but after witnessing and experiencing his strength himself. The man could not ignore but admit that Alfonso is talented. Realizing this, he couldn’t stop but inwardly mutter that the confidence that the boy showed earlier had reasons. He then whispered inside his mind, ‘No wonder he was able to defeat a grandmaster, so it was not all luck’.
But as Alfonso tried to attack him again, an opportunity to counter-attack appeared. The way Alfonso slashed again made his body vulnerable to attacks, because of this. The knight immediately took the chance to counter him.
But to his demise, as his sword moved toward Alfonso at the speed of light. The boy elegantly jumped as he kicked his chest to make his body fly and be out of the knight’s range. Which left the man baffled… However, the knight realized that the boy was in the middle of the air and vulnerable. With that in thought, the man grinned as his wooden sword suddenly glowed and was covered by a white aura.
Reinhardt who was watching the fight widened his eyes when he realized that the knight used sword aura toward a kid and at most just an average rank. He thought that it was overkill but looking how Alfonso showed how competitive he is and how strong he is. Reinhardt looked forward to how a boy could counter the knight this time.
“There was no rule that I can’t use sword aura only mana.” The knight muttered as he charged toward the defenseless boy who was in the middle of the air.
However, as his weapon moved closer to the boy’s face. Alfonso’s eyes that were closed suddenly opened and what followed was a thick aura covering his wooden sword.
His head which was about to fall from the ground swiftly went upwards as his feet touched the ground and at the same time, he used his slash skill to block the attack. The difference this time was that it contained aura, doubling the strength of his swing.
BANG!!!
The knight could feel his sword was struck by a huge hammer even though it was just a sword, in a result the grip of his sword loosened and he could feel his hand trembling from the impact of the boy’s attack. The sword aura he covered his sword with was eradicated in an instant. If it wasn’t for the aura he used, his sword could have been broken already.
The knight then slowly gulped his saliva as he tried to strongly grip his sword again and use sword aura. But before he could even flinch, the cold red eyes of the boy glared at him, his crimson pupils that shined resembled that of a devil.
At that moment, the knight knew he is fucked up if he doesn’t do something about the boy’s next attack. After experiencing how powerful his strike is with sword aura, he feared he would be obliterated.
In a panic, the knight used his mana to block the following attack of Alfonso who at the same time tried to slash him again.
In an instant, a huge bang of Alfonso’s sword hitting the knight’s body resonated and a scene of a knight flying emerged.
BAAANNGGG!!!!
Hitting a wall the knight then let out a groan as his feet touched the ground and lost the strength to stand up leaving him to sit on his location.
The knight then soon took a deep breath as he realized how dangerous the boy’s attack was. If he didn’t use mana to block his attack, what could have happened to him? That question haunted him as he tried to lift up his head to look at the boy who seemed as if he didn’t even sweat fighting him.
“Monster…” The knight whispered as the voice of an arrogant lord followed on the stage.
“Who is next?”
