I’m the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon

Chapter 1245: One Person Takes All

Once inside the new Ecopark, Amina began observing her surroundings, trying to find something extraordinary, but she was destined for disappointment.

However, seeing the abundance of rare Pokémon in the Ecopark, Amina couldn't help but marvel inwardly. If she weren't from another world, she might have already been tempted to steal a few.

With so many rare Pokémon, it would be hard for any trainer not to be enticed. What Amina didn't know, though, was that all the Pokémon in this Ecopark were of low potential Pokémon and would be of no use to a trainer of her caliber.

While searching the area, she inevitably alarmed some of the resident Pokémon. They appeared anxious at the sight of a stranger, with some even preparing to chirp noisily to alert the Raticate outside.

To prevent them from ruining her plans, Amina quickly subdued them all using Jumpluff's Sleep Powder.

Since the Pokémon in the new Ecopark were of low potential Pokémon, they naturally had limited strength and were no match for Amina and her Jumpluff.

After searching for a while, Amina found nothing unusual. Feeling time slipping away, she grew frustrated. Having gone through so much trouble to sneak in, she couldn't leave empty-handed.

Her gaze finally landed on the massive Never-Melting Ice block in the Ecopark. Deciding she couldn't leave without something valuable, she resolved to take it.

She didn't plan to keep it for herself, but to give it to Anya, whose Abomasnow could use it to train.

Since Amina wasn't from this world and didn't plan to stay, she didn't intend to take anything back to her own world either.

Amina carried a spatial backpack and, with some effort, managed to stuff the half-human-sized block of Never-Melting Ice into it.

With everything packed up, Amina exited the Ecopark. However, just as she stepped out, one of the Raticate woke up.

For a moment, the intruder and the Raticate locked eyes.

"Chiiiiiii~!"

The Raticate let out a sharp, piercing cry, waking the other Raticate immediately.

Amina hadn't expected them to recover so quickly and froze in surprise.

What she didn't know was that these two Raticate were mutated Raticate with a special adaptation, making them less susceptible to Sleep Powder than ordinary Pokémon.

After raising their alarm, the Raticate lunged at Amina without hesitation. Luckily, Jumpluff reacted quickly, using Cotton Guard to create a barrier of cotton to block the Raticate.

Realizing her cover was blown, Amina quickly pulled out a mask and put it on. If her identity were discovered, it would spell disaster.

Though the two Raticate were Elite-level Pokémon, they were no match for Jumpluff, who was at Champion level. Still, their tenacity and fearless aggression managed to entangle Amina and delay her escape.

This delay was precisely what the Raticate intended.

In two days, YoYo Day Care was scheduled to deliver Pokémon to its partnership Day Care. Today, Yuga happened to bring Audino to inspect the new Ecopark in preparation.

On his way, he heard the Raticate's distress calls and alarm signals. Immediately, he turned to Audino and said, "Something must be wrong at the new Ecopark. Let's hurry!"

With that, he sprinted toward the new Ecopark.

When Yuga arrived, the two Raticate were already battered and bruised from their fight with Amina, but they continued their efforts to stall her.

Seeing this, Yuga was consumed with fury. His gaze fell coldly on the masked woman. In that instant, he recognized her as the black-clad figure who had lurked outside his house that night.

Motioning for the Raticate to retreat, Yuga spoke icily to Amina. "I don't know what kind of grudge you hold against me that drives you to provoke me again and again, but since you've come this far, don't blame me for being merciless."

With that, he released his Florges and Lapras.

"Florges, Moonblast! Lapras, Ice Beam!"

With Yuga's command, a silver pillar of light and a bluish-white beam shot toward Amina and Jumpluff. Jumpluff dodged swiftly, while Amina rolled across the ground to evade the attack.

Amina was frustrated. Those two Raticate—what was their deal? Was it necessary to fight this hard?

Getting back on her feet, Amina released her second Pokémon, a Cacturne, which was also at Champion-level and even stronger than Jumpluff or the Bellossom she had used earlier.

Seeing yet another Champion-level Pokémon, Yuga was genuinely puzzled. Who was this person? With such strength, it was impossible he had never heard of her.

The Cacturne immediately launched an Energy Ball toward Florges, while Jumpluff used Acrobatics to charge at Lapras.

Florges opened its mouth and emitted a series of mesmerizing soundwaves. The Energy Ball dissipated mid-flight, and Jumpluff cried out as it was forced back.

Even Cacturne and Amina were affected by the soundwaves, clutching their heads in pain as if their skulls were splitting.

Florges had used the Fairy-type move Disarming Voice. While it wasn't particularly powerful, it was difficult to defend against and targeted the opponent's mental state.

Amina wanted to escape and avoid further confrontation. Enduring the throbbing pain in her head, she instructed Jumpluff, "Use Cotton Spore!"

But as soon as she gave the command, a light drizzle began to fall from the sky. The fluffy spores scattered by Jumpluff became damp and heavy, dropping uselessly to the ground.

It turned out that Lapras had activated its Drizzle ability.

Having previously suffered from Amina's Cotton Spore tactic, Yuga was prepared and wouldn't fall for it again.

While Amina was momentarily stunned by her failed strategy, the two Raticate suddenly appeared behind her using Dig. They pinned her shoulders from either side, slamming her to the ground.

Yuga gave them a thumbs-up.

"Let me go!!!" Amina struggled violently, but no human could match the strength of two Elite-level Pokémon.

Seeing their trainer captured, Cacturne and Jumpluff immediately turned back to help. However, as soon as they moved, vines emerged from the ground and wrapped around them. Lapras and Florges took the opportunity to block their path.

The Raticate, clever as ever, didn't just restrain Amina—they also snatched her Poké Balls and space backpack, tossing them over to Yuga.

Picking up the items, Yuga thought to himself, Not only are my Raticate brave, but they're also smart!

In her struggles, Amina's mask fell off, revealing a familiar face. Yuga gasped in surprise, "Are you Anya's mother? Or her relative?"

The resemblance was uncanny, though Amina's face appeared older, befitting her middle age.

Yuga wasn't lacking in experience, but anyone seeing this would naturally assume the two were mother and daughter—or at least related. It wouldn't occur to him that they were actually the same person.

Suppressing his curiosity for now, Yuga turned his attention to the ongoing battle. Finding the Poké Balls for Jumpluff and Cacturne, he returned them to their balls.

Even though the Pokémon resisted, worried for their trainer, they had no choice once Yuga held their Poké Balls.

To ensure they couldn't escape again, Yuga locked the Poké Balls tightly.

Seeing that the situation was beyond saving, Amina stopped struggling. However, she glared at Yuga with unrelenting fury. Yuga laughed at her reaction. "You came looking for trouble with me. I've never provoked you. Why are you acting like I'm the one at fault?"

Amina remained silent, her glare intensifying.

Yuga ignored her and instructed Florges to bind her with Vine Whip. He then released Chimecho to heal the two Raticate.

The Raticate had sustained serious injuries holding off Amina.

To speed up their recovery, Chimecho used Heal Pulse, and Yuga applied medicinal spray to their wounds.

"You two are so stubborn! If you can't stop her, then don't try so hard. Someday I'll catch her myself. Look at you, all injured—what if something serious happened?"

As Yuga applied medicine to the Raticates, he kept nagging. The Raticates listened quietly without a word.

Once their injuries were no longer a concern, Yuga began inspecting Amina's belongings.

There wasn't much to check in the Poké Balls, so he focused on her backpack.

Opening the backpack, Yuga immediately noticed a giant Never-Melt Ice taking up most of the space. He sneered at Amina and said, "I was thinking maybe I couldn't pin a major crime on you for simple theft, but now I see you stole my Never-Melt Ice too."

Though Yuga had casually placed the Never-Melt Ice in his new Ecopark for the Ice-type Pokémon to use, it didn't mean the item wasn't incredibly valuable. In fact, due to its size, this chunk of Never-Melt Ice was a rare treasure.

If Yuga wanted to press charges, no matter what this woman's identity was, he could ruin her. If the Never-Melt Ice had actually gone missing, she might've been looking at a life sentence.

Hearing Yuga's words, Amina's face turned extremely pale.

In her world, she was at least a League Champion. To be caught red-handed as a thief was beyond humiliating.

If Yuga knew what she was thinking, he would've spat in her face: You already stole it, so quit pretending! A thief trying to act honorable—what a joke.

Aside from the stolen Never-Melt Ice, Yuga didn't find anything that could confirm Amina's identity in the bag—just some miscellaneous personal items, some of which were so private that Yuga, as a man, felt embarrassed to look at them.

After inspecting the bag, Yuga walked over to Amina. "Don't you have anything to say? Like your name? Your identity? Why you've come after me again and again?"

Amina gritted her teeth and remained silent, adopting a nothing can scare me attitude that made Yuga's teeth grind in frustration.

"Fine, if you won't talk, I'll find someone who can make you."

That same day, Yuga handed Amina over to the police. The investigation into her identity began immediately, but surprisingly, they couldn't find any records of her.

There was no such person registered with the League.

Could she be living off the grid?

If she were just a normal person without records, it wouldn't matter much. But this was a Champion-level Trainer. Allowing someone like that to roam freely could cause chaos. As a result, the matter was quickly escalated.

Meanwhile, Anya was sightseeing as usual in Verdanturf Town. When she returned to her hotel, she was suddenly stopped at the entrance by two men in black.

When the men presented their credentials, Anya fell silent. As a Gym Leader for the League, she naturally recognized the badges of the Investigation Bureau.

Without resistance, Anya followed the agents.

This led to Anya being brought to the police station.

When she saw Amina there, Anya's eyes widened in disbelief. She couldn't understand why Amina was here or why she'd been arrested. She had clearly told her to return to Crown City!

Amina glanced at Anya but said nothing. She truly regretted her actions. She should've listened to Anya and gone back to Crown City instead of taking unnecessary risks.

Even though Amina had a face identical to Anya's, she vehemently denied any connection between the theft and Anya, taking full responsibility for her crimes.

She knew that implicating Anya at this point would bring no benefit. Keeping her out of it might give her a chance to help from the outside.

Of course, claiming she didn't know Anya was a lie, but Anya truly had no involvement in the theft.

Yuga reviewed the interrogation records and knew that this woman wasn't telling the whole truth, but there wasn't much he could do without evidence.

The police even conducted a DNA test between the two. The results showed no relation whatsoever, which further hindered the Investigation Bureau from implicating Anya as an accomplice.

You couldn't arrest someone just because they looked like a criminal. There were plenty of lookalikes in the world. Even Dawn had a doppelgänger in a small kingdom, and they had no relation whatsoever.

Indeed, though they were both Anya, they came from different worlds and naturally couldn't share any blood ties.

Moreover, hypnosis was ineffective against Amina—a fact Yuga had anticipated.

Both had been blessed by Celebi. Though this blessing primarily benefited Grass-types, Celebi was also a Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon. How could hypnosis possibly work on them?

In the end, Amina was taken away by the Investigation Bureau.

A Champion-level Trainer with an unclear origin couldn't be left unchecked by the League. Until the matter was resolved, Amina would likely remain in custody.

As for Anya, she was promptly sent back to Crown City in Sinnoh by the Hoenn League. Though she was released without charges, having been a suspect in this incident made it inappropriate for her to remain in Hoenn.

Although Amina had been taken away, Yuga still reached out to someone in the Investigation Bureau to secretly monitor the League's interrogation of her. After all, this incident involved him, and he still didn't know why Amina had targeted him.

His intuition told him that this woman wasn't after the Never-Melt Ice alone.

Although the giant Never-Melt Ice was valuable, it wasn't enough to drive a Champion-level Trainer to take such a risk.
