I'm Rich But don't want to make money

Chapter 5: ch-5

Chapter 5: How Can We Work in a Workshop Without Air Conditioning?

"It will probably cost about 150,000,salesman said without hesitation. As a salesman for a small company, he not only had to expand the customer base, but sometimes procurement responsibilities fell to him. Over time, he had learned all about the fabrics and was familiar with the process.

"Okay, I'll give you 200,000. It's fine to solve the fabric problem within two days," Andrew Carter decided decisively, tapping the table.

There were only a little more than two days left for the system settlement, so he had to spend the money within that time.

"Mr. Carter, I've already contacted the fabric supplier, and they can solve the issue within a day. The 150,000 fabric reserve should be enough. We won't need the full 200,000," Wei Yan explained.

"It's fine, just get more. With your ability, I'm sure the orders won't be a problem," Andrew said, standing up and patting Wei Yan's shoulder encouragingly.

"Yes, Mr. Carter. I will definitely live up to your expectations," Wei Yan replied, feeling respected for the first time by a boss younger than himself. He was now determined to help the company succeed and bring in more orders.

"The money has been transferred. Make sure to spend the 200,000 within two days. Not a penny left."

"Yes, Mr. Carter."

Wei Yan looked at the 200,000 that had been transferred to his account, his expression serious.

Andrew looked at him with satisfaction. What a good employee. He's already found a way to spend the money so quickly.

"Alright, there's still some time. Take me to see the workshop."

There were only 223,700 system funds left, and Andrew wanted to find a way to spend it all today. He followed Wei Yan to the workshop.

"Okay, Mr. Carter," Wei Yan replied, leading the way.

They soon arrived at the side door of the hall, where Wei Yan pushed it open, leading them inside.

As soon as Andrew entered the workshop, he was immediately struck by the stifling heat. The contrast from the cool air-conditioned office to the warm, stuffy atmosphere of the workshop was jarring.

Lauren Taylor, following behind, wrinkled her nose but said nothing.

"The workshop is a bit hot, Mr. Carter. Do you still want to continue the tour?" Wei Yan asked, noticing the discomfort.

"No problem, continue," Andrew said, brushing it off. After all, he was just adjusting to the temperature change. Compared to the upcoming one million in hand, this was nothing.

Wei Yan nodded and continued his tour. "This floor is where the finished products are packaged and stored, including the fabric reserves. Most employees work on the second floor, where the cutting machines and flat cars are."

The first floor was quieter, with only two employees tidying up the warehouse. They greeted the visitors respectfully as they passed. Then they moved upstairs to the second floor.

On the second floor, several garment-making machines were neatly arranged, and each employee was busy at their station. The mood seemed better now, probably due to the recent spending, and the employees appeared happier.

However, what caught Andrew's attention were the fans—large and small—installed above each workstation. The buzz of the fans was the dominant sound aside from the sewing machines.

Andrew instantly thought of a solution to spend the remaining funds. He turned to Wei Yan.

"With the workshop this hot, haven't you thought about installing air conditioning?"

Wei Yan froze. Installing air conditioning in a workshop was an extravagant idea, especially for such a large space. Not only would the installation cost a lot, but the electricity bills would also be significant. For most bosses, this kind of expenditure would be considered unnecessary.

"Mr. Carter, you don't understand. This two-story workshop is 500 square meters. If we install central air conditioning, it'll cost at least 100,000 yuan, and on top of that, the monthly electricity bill would be huge. For some bosses, such an expense just isn't justified," Wei Yan explained.

Andrew nodded thoughtfully, but a smile tugged at his lips. He had found yet another way to spend money, and with the company's plaque, he could now spend the remaining system funds and take care of business all at once.

"In such a hot working environment, how can employees perform at their best?" Andrew said. "This workshop needs air conditioning. Only when the environment is cool will the employees' work efficiency keep up."

"How about this: go ahead and find someone to solve the air conditioning problem quickly, within two days."

"Mr. Carter, are you really sure about installing air conditioning? This will increase the monthly expenses," Wei Yan said, concerned.

"That's right," Andrew confirmed with a decisive nod. Then he took out his phone and transferred the remaining funds to Wei Yan.

"Also, the company's signboard needs to be replaced. We need a large lightbox—make it as expensive as possible."

"The funds for both the air conditioner and the signboard have been transferred to you. Solve these two issues within two days. Don't save a penny. I'll keep track of the progress."

Andrew patted Wei Yan's shoulder and turned to leave the workshop. With the system funds spent, he had no reason to stay any longer. Now, all he had to do was wait for the settlement in two days and become a millionaire.

Lauren followed him, her expression one of confusion. Andrew's approach gave the impression that he had come only to spend money without any regard for the company's future.

Other bosses would urge their employees to save wherever possible, but Andrew was willing to spend everything without hesitation.

"I wonder how long this company can survive," Lauren muttered to herself.

Wei Yan stood in the workshop, staring at the transfer notification on his phone. He was silent for a long time, processing the unexpected generosity of his new boss.

Eventually, he clapped his hands and called out to the busy employees.

"Stop what you're doing! Mr. Carter has decided to install air conditioning in the workshop. If you know anything about air conditioners, come and help."

As Wei Yan finished speaking, the employees exchanged astonished glances and whispered among themselves.

"Is this for real?"

"Air conditioning in the workshop? Is it really happening?"

"It must be true. Didn't you see the new boss in the workshop earlier? I bet he made the decision because he felt the heat."

"This new boss is amazing!"
