I'm Really Not a Pokémon

Chapter 16: I Will Always Trust You

"Little brother, anything is negotiable, you let Charmander take his claws off first. I promise to know everything." Pokémon Hunter crouched on the ground with his hands up in the air in a surrender position, a fawning smile on his face.

He was panicking now, Charmander's sharp but warm claws were resting on the aorta where his neck was, and if he dared to move, the claw might just come down. He could tell this Charmander hadn't killed anyone, but... couldn't afford to gamble.

His Malamar was rendered unconscious by that shot of Ember. There's a word for it, and it's off the charts with a capital C. It's a fire dinosaur with a jet of flame he recognizes, it's a Charmander with an Ember, and his Malamar goes down?

Is your Charmander playing the role? Or is my Malamar playing me?

What he doesn't know is that Rope really did give Charmander a boost, and after developing Flame-Flame Fruit to a high degree, Rope tossed around the Viridian Gym's training grounds to combine his abilities with Pokémon's, and he discovered that his Flame Manipulation ability could increase Charmander's fire skills, and even make other skills work as well. skills, and even make other skills take on the attributes of the fire system.

Rope was moved to tears. Grandma bear, it's been five years! Goldfinger has finally arrived.

(Goldfinger: I've been here all along, you won't use it, so blame me?)

(Rope: Tsk!)

Charmander's strength can't be estimated by the common sense of the Pokémon world.Rope is also greatly relieved. Although he has always thought that there isn't a big gap between himself, Red, and Blue in terms of talent, but are Red and Blue relying on their talent to eat? People rely on their lead aura...

Now he finally had the credentials to call Red and Blue's bluff within a year.

Rope dragged Light out of the sack and sized him up, realizing that he was exactly the same as the boy named Light on the profile he had been given, and knew who the boy was.

Rope nodded in satisfaction at first, so half of his plan was complete.

Rope set Light down on the floor, with no intention of waking him up, and moved roughly, hating to drop him to the ground.

This was one evil bear of a boy.

He walked over to Pokémon Hunter and waved his hand at Charmander, signaling him to get out of the way. Charmander glanced at Rope, nodded and stepped back, but still kept his eyes still wary of Pokémon Hunter.

Rope looked at the Pokémon Hunter crouching on the ground and smiled with disgust.

These Pokémon Hunters were even worse than those villainous organizations. Organizations like Team Rocket at least had a creed of behavior, either to rule the world or to remake it. But these Pokémon Hunters are simply in it for the money, and they're like flies on the wall, looking for scraps from alliances and villainous organizations to survive on.

You feel in awe of the tiger while feeling threatened by it.

But then you have nothing but disgust for flies.

Pokémon Hunter saw Rope's disgust and the fawning smile on his face widened.

"I ask, you answer, and if there's a lie, you kill."

Rope spoke coldly.

"That'll have to do! I can't even take in any more Pokémon if one punctuation mark is false!"

Pokémon Hunter swore in a quick response.

Rope nodded, the oath wasn't worth much, but the level of viciousness was still good. pokémon equaled kin, equaled power. This oath carried about as much weight as having a baby without a ***.

"Who hired you to put your hands on this child?"

"Viridian City Mayor, Mr. Bell."

"Why?"

"This kid bullied Bell's son and supposedly robbed the family of their initial Pokémon. it's not wrong to be taken out for something so unethical."

"Do you know the situation of this kid's family?"

"A businessman with little power or influence. I don't know why Bell had to settle for something so covert. But that's not my concern either."

"You sold him so painfully that you weren't afraid of his retaliation?" Rope asked rather suspiciously.

Pokémon Hunter smiled at his words and said, "I'm not really afraid, I came to Kanto just by the way, my basic disk are in Kalos, because I have this side of the job, this is why I came by the way, and then I did such a single job, and then I was caught by you."

Rope was rendered speechless by his openness.

This guy was also too sensible to say what he was asked, and it flowed logically with no signs of lying.

More importantly he provided a key piece of information, Bell was going to covertly take out a kid who didn't have to do it covertly. Why?

Rope already had a guess, he gave a meaningful look at Light over there who was still unconscious, then proceeded to ask Pokémon Hunter, "What's your name?"

Pokémon Hunter's face was pleased as he heard Rope's slightly relieved tone, then replied, "My name is Rai."

"Rai... I'm calling the police."

"Hey, don't bother! I'll do it myself."

Rope saw him get up nimbly, pulled out his cell phone, then dialed up the generic police number in front of Rope, gave Rope a look back after the broadcast to confirm that he had indeed called the police, then turned on the speakerphone.

"Hey there! I'm calling the police! I'm over in the woods on the eastern outskirts of Viridian City, and there's a Pokémon Hunter."

"Panic? I'm not panicking."

"Oh~ Where's Pokémon Hunter, Pokémon Hunter's here calling you."

"No, no kidding, I'm really Pokémon Hunter."

"Hey! Well, well, well, I'm sorry to bother you, but hurry up and take me to the police station."

Ahh this...

Rope felt confused, he felt that this world was a bit different from the one he knew before.

Did Pokémon Hunter do skits on the side now?

How... how did this guy just...?

Rope pursed his lips with a head full of black lines, he really didn't know how to describe this guy.

After hanging up the phone, Rai smiled fawningly and said towards Rope, "Do you think this is okay?"

Obviously I'm the one who cleaned this guy up, why do I have the feeling that I'm being bullied by this guy?

Rope is so confused right now...

"Okay..."

"As long as you're satisfied!"

Rai smiled brightly. The wider he smiled, the harder Rope felt himself...

So he simply ignored the guy and gave Charmander a look to keep an eye on the guy, then went to wake up Light himself, ready to help Charmander unravel part of his mind for a bit.

On the way there he gave Malamar, who was about to wake up, a complementary kick to keep him asleep.

Rope walked over to Light, who was huffing and puffing with a harrumph at the corner of his mouth, poked him with his toe and called out, "Get up, get up."

Light slowly opened his eyes and asked with a sleepless look, "Morning?"

Rope's heart was tired... so this was a night of strange encounters...

"Get up and fight me."

Light shook his head, as if suddenly remembering something, and jumped up in fear, then scanned around, "Pokémon Hunter! There's a Pokémon Hunter out to get me!"

No, it's a monologue teller that's out to get you...

"Cut the crap, you're fine now, fight me and get the hell out of here!"

Rope shouted in no uncertain terms.

Light slowed down and saw the guy crouching on the ground and fawning, rubbing his eyes, he couldn't connect him to that vicious Pokémon Hunter, but it was exactly the same...

"What's... what's going on?" He fumbled for a moment. He hadn't realized that he'd been wandering around the ghostly gates for a while now.

"Charmander, come here, time to prove yourself."

Rope obviously had no intention of talking any more nonsense with these guys, he impatiently called Charmander straight over, then turned to watch over Rai himself.

Light was confused and looked at Charmander in front of him and then at Rope. rubbing his head he said, "I can't figure out what's going on. Anyway just beat your Charmander right."

With that he pulled out a Pokéball.

"Come on out Squirtle, hit him hard!"

A white light flashed and a Squirtle appeared in front of the crowd in a welcoming pose. A slightly menacing smile appeared on his face as he looked at the somewhat familiar Charmander in front of him.

"Jeni!" (I'll beat you to death!)

Charmander just looked at him without saying a word, then in an instant his body flashed with white light and Quick Attack rushed to Squirtle's face, before Squirtle had time to react, he saw Charmander's white glowing claws grabbing towards his head. It subconsciously shrunk its head into its shell.

However, Charmander retracted his claws in one go, and finally the long-stored Ember spat directly into Squirtle's shell.

Boom...

In Light's shocked expression, Charmander threw Squirtle, who had lost his ability to fight, to the ground, then turned towards Rope.

"Woo~" (I told you I can beat them quickly too.)

Charmander looked into Rope's eyes and let out a serious bark.

Rotom didn't come out to translate, but Rope understood what Charmander meant.

He put his hand on Charmander's head and stroked it gently with a doting smile on his face.

"I will always believe in you."
