Chapter 60
Chapter 60
Four days had passed since the fire. After clearing away all the ashes, we covered the area with soil. We had planned to plant something, but there wasn’t enough time as I was busy following Mitchell around.
The iron gate was locked again, and there was no news from Junman. Although I was worried deep down, knowing he wasn’t the type to give up so easily, there wasn’t much I could do. For now, I was just grateful that he had disappeared from sight.
In the afternoon, with the sun high in the sky, Mitchell was busy filming a commercial instead of a movie today. He finished the first outfit at a studio in the bustling downtown area and moved on to the second outfit.
The navy suit matched perfectly with his blonde hair. While a creature like Mitchell would probably enjoy it himself, it was truly a blessing for those watching him.
When this commercial is broadcast across the United States, the blessed ones will praise Mitchell and become active. That means my competitors will increase by that much too.
As anxiety slowly crept in, I felt the urge to push that camera capturing Mitchell and smash its lens. I was breaking out in a cold sweat trying to resist the itching in my hands.
After glaring at the camera for a while, I finally managed to calm myself down. This wasn’t the time for such thoughts.
“I’ll be right back.”
Before the shooting began, I got Mitchell’s permission for 30 minutes. I told him there was a piece of clothing I wanted to buy, which I had spotted on the way to the studio, and that I needed to buy it right now. Seeing Mitchell’s suspicious gaze made my mouth water. He seemed to dislike me being out of his sight that much.
More. Want me more.
Smiling at the displeased Mitchell, I left the building.
There was indeed a store I had spotted on the way, but what I wanted to buy wasn’t clothes. I came to buy a gift for Mitchell at a store selling vibrating massagers.
Although I had made a fuss when Mitchell lied once, this time it couldn’t be helped. I was faithfully following the principle of “When I do it, it’s romance; when others do it, it’s adultery.”
Ah, I did have one excuse.
Today was my birthday!
Normally, birthday gifts are received from others, but some people give gifts to their parents to thank them for giving birth to them.
That’s exactly it.
Although Mitchell isn’t my parent, he’s playing a role that’s sufficiently similar, so he could be considered a parent. Parents are people who protect their children, right? Our parents weren’t like that, but usually, that’s how it is.
Just Mitchell’s existence by my side makes me happy and satisfied in body and mind, so he’s definitely on the level of a parent.
So, on my birthday, I wanted to give a thank-you gift to Mitchell, who’s like a parent to me. I had wanted to give him a gift for a while anyway.
“Is this too small?”
I bought a vibrating massager at the store, but I wasn’t entirely satisfied. I regretted not getting a massage chair instead, thinking it might have been better.
Should I buy one now? My mind was full of thoughts about massage chairs, but all I had in my hand was a small paper bag. It just didn’t feel enough.
Since it was my birthday, I wanted to put the gift in Mitchell’s hands today, but a massage chair probably wouldn’t be delivered immediately. Maybe in Korea, but here it would surely take a few days.
“Oh…”
Just then, across the street, someone caught my eye. Looking at the flamboyant man, a brilliant idea suddenly struck me. I quickly ran over and spoke to him.
“Hello?”
The man was wearing a pink tank top and a green wig. His front view was as flashy as his back view. Butterfly wing-like false eyelashes fluttered over his heavy makeup.
“What?”
While his appearance was completely feminine, his voice was that of a husky adult male. I hesitated for a moment at the voice as deep as Mitchell’s.
“I have something to ask you, if that’s okay?”
The man looked me up and down. I unconsciously lowered the hat I was wearing slightly. I was worried about any misunderstandings, but fortunately, the man raised his chin and replied haughtily.
“What is it?”
“Actually, my friend is gay, and I want to give him a gift, but I don’t know what to give. I was wondering if there are any good stores around here.”
The man made a ‘tsk’ sound. He didn’t answer right away, as if he didn’t like the question.
“…Are there no stores?”
Haha, I grinned with a friendly face, and this time the man made a ‘tch’ sound.
“I’ll let you off because you’re cute.”
The man put his hand on my shoulder. Let me off because I’m cute… I really have nothing to say. Can he even see my face properly? More importantly, sir, I’m taller than you, so what part of me is cute?
I smiled awkwardly, trying my best not to offend the man. Although his face was beautifully made up, the muscles bulging out from under the tank top were enough to put most bodybuilders to shame.
If Mitchell’s body was built purely through exercise, the man’s body had a sense of discomfort as if it had been lightly sprinkled with drugs. Or was it because of the discord between the pink tank top and the brawny muscles? Anyway.
“If you walk straight that way, you’ll see a cafe. Turn into the alley next to it. If you keep going, you’ll find a shop with lots of neon signs. It’s called ‘Red Shop.'”
“Do they sell things that gay people would like there?”
“It’s heaven. But it’s a bit expensive. Or if you want somewhere cheaper, want to follow me?”
The man put his arm around my shoulder. Because of the height difference, his raised arm looked somewhat apologetic, so I bent my knees slightly.
The man didn’t seem to care much whether he was short or not. Suddenly, he looked cool to me.
“Thanks, but I don’t have much time now. I think I’ll go to Red Shop. Thank you.”
“Really? That’s a shame. But where are you from, honey?”
His false eyelashes fluttered. Was that a wink? I swallowed hard and managed to answer.
“I’m… from Korea. But I’m not gay. I like women.”
Haha, I showed my teeth, trying to look friendly. But the man continued to misunderstand me.
“Then why do you keep flirting? Stop smiling so much.”
Man, I can’t cry here!
“Ah… haha.”
“You don’t seem to know what you look like. That bewitching face of yours is perfect for seducing men.”
My lips twisted unnaturally at the man’s words. Although it was a compliment, the gay guy closest to me doesn’t even treat me like a man.
‘Mitchell only likes his bottom.’
I said this to myself while apologizing to the man and refusing again.
“What a waste.”
Fortunately, although the man clicked his tongue, he quickly turned away. His buttocks moved ostentatiously under his tight pants. Cold sweat ran down my back.
I hurriedly walked as directed by the threatening yet kind man. As the Red Shop sign came into view in the distance, I quickened my pace.
“Hello.”
“Hey.”
A voice that was barely a greeting came from inside. The owner of Red Shop sitting at the counter was a black man with a bushy beard. A white tank top that could be mistaken for a stretched piece of cloth fluttered. It was cut so low that his chest was fully visible.
After overcoming the first hurdle, the second one appeared. I clenched my fist secretly, burning with determination. I wanted to buy a gift Mitchell would like and achieve today’s goal no matter what.
“I want to buy a gift for my gay friend.”
I approached the owner with a smile.
“But I’m 100% straight, so I don’t know much about this kind of stuff. What would be good? Something my friend would like. I have no idea.”
This time, I preemptively declared myself as heterosexual. The shop owner probably wouldn’t hit on me like the tank top man, but it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
“Hmm!”
Perhaps my introduction was excessive, as the owner snorted and walked to the center of the shop. Hidden by the counter, I hadn’t noticed that the man was wearing extremely short shorts with fishnet stockings. Feeling it would be impolite to look at his legs, I averted my gaze.
“Top? Bottom? Or both?”
“Eh?”
“Don’t know? Well, I guess a hetero like you might not. Not that close of a friend, huh? Seeing as they don’t share that kind of info with you.”
“I know! We’re close!”
I don’t understand why I wanted to prove our closeness to the owner. Anyway, since I knew which side Mitchell was, I told the truth.
“He’s a top!”
It felt like ringing the bell after answering the final question on a quiz show. See? I know very well! We’re close! As I nodded and smiled, the owner gave a strange smile and recommended an item.
“First, this. This is something that induces extreme sexual pleasu—”
“Ah! No need for explanations. I’ll just buy it. Is there anything else? Don’t worry about the price. I need several items.”
At this, the owner’s eyes lit up and his attitude changed. He promptly walked over, put a basket in my hand, and started circling the store.
“This is good too.”
“This is essential.”
“Never seen a gay guy without this.”
“Oh! How could I forget this!”
The owner filled the basket as if he was shopping for himself. When the basket was full, I stopped his busy hands.
“I think this is enough.”
I, who wanted to give Mitchell many gifts with both hands full, had finally achieved my goal. After asking for everything to be wrapped, I left the store.
Unlike at first, the owner now treated me like a VIP customer and even gave me some service items. Throughout the wrapping process, he kept telling me to come back with that gay friend next time.
Checking the time, I saw only 5 minutes left of the promised 30 minutes. I ran until I was out of breath to reach the studio parking lot, quickly loaded the goods into the trunk, and covered them with some clothes. My throat stung with every breath.
Although I went slightly over the promised time, fortunately, Mitchell seemed busy with the shoot. I noticed he was already wearing different clothes.
As I sat in a corner catching my breath, Mitchell only noticed me after quite a while. I confidently nodded a greeting, showing I had arrived on time, and Mitchell simply nodded back.
How much will Mitchell like it?
I wanted to go home as soon as possible to see his excited face.
