Overnight I was able to recruit a couple of not-so-damaged mates. Now they'll be working hard for adamantium health and a chance to avoid trouble. A few more got their arse handed to them with dirt. There was no place to brand these subhumans, so they were still a long way from the carrot.

- Do you think she's coming boss? - Nata asked me when I got back to the Monolith.

- The weaver? Who knows? I hope so.

- I doubt she'll come. She won't be so naive, but she won't work with us. Maybe she'll go off the deep end. Teenagers are maximalists," Abby said, sitting down across from me.

- Then how about a bet? - Rhino suggested it.

- How much?

- Twenty.

- Deal. Boss, you're a witness.

- Heh, okay. Gaby, honey, pour me something! - I called out to Cortez.

- Si momento señor!

The girl was still getting to grips with her abilities and uploaded experience, so we didn't take her into the mess. Luck is good, but it is better to be fully prepared. And there was no urgent need for her participation at the moment. So Gabrielle now tested her luck during unthinkable tricks, mixing various alcoholic and not so alcoholic liquids. She was now able to do a lot of things without her ability, which combined with the mutation had an amazing effect. As people started coming to the club, watching Cortez at work became a popular pastime.

After drinking the brought cocktail, I was transported to Aki, who wished to meet. The girls and I hadn't been able to get together lately because of all sorts of problems that required personal intervention. We needed to make up for lost time.

The girl offered to organise a gathering of our five somewhere in the countryside. Her relatives had sent her a big piece of wagyu beef, which was a real delicacy, and Aki wanted to feed us with steaks cooked by herself. Naturally I was all for it and immediately got in touch with the guys, making arrangements for Sunday. Gerda was personally persuaded. She promised to bring some cool tea. Knowing her, it'll be something on the level of delicatessen beef.

Oh, I can't wait. I wish I had time management skills... Speaking of which. I should get the knowledge of the T Corporation's singularity. It wouldn't be a waste.

- "Yes!"

- Understood. Proceeding with the download. Data will be available in 11 days, 3 hours, 15 seconds.

That's good. In the meantime, there's someone I need to visit.

Retreat.

Police officer Jessica Rasberry was returning home after almost 24 hours of non-stop running. Fucking Pluto had caused such a mess that it had taken a lot of work on everyone's part. No, she naturally realised that it was a good thing and was even glad that the slaughterhouse had been destroyed. True, it was only a drop in the ocean, if you take all the remaining similar establishments around the world. But it's a start. See, if everything ends as Head and Pluto intends, the world will change. Unlike the heroes, who hovered somewhere high, the woman had seen life for her nearly twenty years in the police force and was ready to get her hands dirty. She'd also seen the statistics on the emergence of various psychos. And she wasn't happy about it. For every one that went to prison, two new ones appeared. And then the one that got caught would run away. It was really hurting my motivation.

And then, as if by magic (although it may well have been by magic), Pluto appeared with an offer that was impossible to refuse. Jessica didn't believe what he said at first, but she was quickly persuaded. Being a realist, the woman realised that the proposed option was definitely not the worst possible. Especially after the horrors of Earth and space.

She accepted the offer and volunteered to find more cops who thought along similar lines. Just like a sectarian, heh. But she did what she said and thus more people got involved. And then Pluto's allies started feeding them criminal intelligence. Thus, they killed two birds with one stone: they caught the most dangerous ones and at the same time were on good account with their superiors, being promoted. And this was important for the implementation of the Plan.

All these thoughts ran through the woman's mind as she pulled into the garage, switched off the car and entered the house. Opening the door, she began to take off her shoes and turned to the mirror hanging near the entrance. Yes, she looked beautiful. Dark circles under her eyes under grey, faded eyes, the whites of which were red from burst vessels. Her thick dark brown hair was in a bundle that had attracted envious glances a day ago, but now it was dishevelled and unkempt. If all this was in vain, she would have Pluto!

And at that very moment Jessica was literally shot through with the thought that something was wrong! Outwardly it did not show on her in any way, but inwardly Rasberry began to search for the cause of her alarm. An initial inspection yielded no results.

After a few seconds of intense mental effort, the woman realised what her mind had reacted to. It was the smell of perfume. What was wrong with it? Nothing, except that it was a man's perfume. And the last time Jessica had had a man in her house was months ago.

The policewoman had walked tiredly into the hall where the smell was coming from, ready to draw her gun. With each step, the adrenaline and tension grew. She could literally feel the intruder already. One more step and she found herself walking towards the room, pulling out her service weapon, pointing it at a smiling man in a black suit with red patterns, sitting in a comfortable chair.

- Pluto fuck! I almost put a hole in your head! - screamed the woman, lowering the gun.

- That would be very sad Jessie! - the man said cheerfully, only smiling wider. How much bigger could it be?

- Ugh! You're gonna give me a heart attack with those jokes! Why the hell did you come here?! I could have chatted on the phone if I wanted to.

- What can I do? I wanted to see you in person. And I didn't just show up here for no reason, by the way!

- Huh? And what are you going to make me happy? - sceptically asked Rasberry, returning the gun to its holster.

- Dance Jessie! In a couple of days you'll be the head of the detective bureau! - exclaimed the man, standing up from his chair and spreading his arms out to the sides.

- Really? What about the chief and his deputy? And how did they put me in charge?

- They'll be transferred because they were interfering with the Plan. They've been bought by crime bosses who've been trying to mess with me. And you were put in because I pulled the right strings.

- Huh? All right. So what now?

- Oh dear, you're not thinking straight," Pluto said sympathetically, looking at the woman rubbing her face in an attempt to stay awake. - Come on, you go to bed. We'll talk again later. It'll be much more fun now ha-ha-ha-ha!

That last one sounded very ominous.

- Whatever you say," the woman said languidly. The withdrawal had passed, and she felt drowsy.

- Good night Mistress Chief. You'll need your strength.

- Mm-hmm.

With a wave of his hand, Pluto snapped his fingers theatrically and vanished. The woman cursed angrily at that and went to the shower, where she once again wondered who this guy was. In the end she decided that it was more important to be a part of the common cause and went to bed. She would think about the rest tomorrow.

End of retreat.

Slowly I built a network at all levels that solved important problems. Now I didn't have to be a wild boar myself as I had been in the recent past. I guess we can start expanding again.

- Ashley, where are we on the charity? - I asked her, distracted from my thoughts of the future.

- We're fine, Mr Smith. We do a thorough check on the institutions and organisations to which donations are made. So far, there have only been two cases of misuse of funds. Mr. White did a good job selecting the organisations," she reported, checking her tablet.

- Yes, Benji can work with information," I said with a smile.

- Also in the next quarter, according to your instructions, we will increase the number of donations.

- Good. Then send the report to me, I'll take a look at it, but in the meantime, ask Miss Evans to join me.

Ashley nodded and left the office. A few minutes later Sandra came in, dressed in her usual unisex clothes, without any beauty markings and with a faint smile on her face. In general, the story of our meeting is quite curious. We met her at the moment when the woman had unearthed some of Hydra's dealings with the Shield. She was also one of the high-level agents, and just happened to know something she shouldn't have. They decided to eliminate her quickly and almost succeeded in doing so. At that moment, I was in the vicinity and felt Desire. I decided to see what was going on and saw a woman fighting a dozen fighters with no distinguishing marks. And she was so good that she was able to kill most of them without any superpowers. But even a lion gets mobbed, and Sandra was no exception. And since I could use such a capable worker myself, I made her an offer.

She naturally accepted. Her wish was pretty standard: to live and be well. And to get revenge on the people who leaked her. They were two of her partners, a man and a woman, with whom she worked together in a love affair. Except her service to Hydra was stronger than her feelings.

I gave Evans a contract, changed her appearance and uncovered the E.G.O.. And she turned out to be a very valuable subordinate. She was extremely knowledgeable and skilled. Much of her experience went into improving the skills of my other subordinates. However, Sandra had a real talent that put her far above most of my soldiers.

And now she was to become the head of PMC FouR. This name was associated with four types of soldiers, which in English begin with R. Ravens - raven, rabbits - rabbit, rhino - rhino and reindeer - reindeer. We will reveal only the rabbits in the first place, and the others will work less frequently and more quietly. However, even the long-eared ones will have to underestimate their capabilities along with the functionality of their equipment. In this world, even one super-soldier has made a mess of things, let alone a whole squad.

- So, Miss Evans, all the paperwork, headquarters and all, is ready. What's going on with your staff? I hear Mia's been causing quite a stir, as usual.- Haha, Miss Harris, just wanted to see if they'd have a decent boss..." the woman said softly as she began her story.

Digression.

Some time ago.

All the pack 'animals' were gathered together. They were soon to go out into the world. According to the plan, they will become participants of the PMC, defending the interests of the Head by legal and semi-legal methods.

- Well, where is our chief? How long can we wait? - Mia asked, throwing her hands behind her head.

- He'll be here in a minute, don't dust yourself," wheezed the raven commander, John Williams.

- It's about time...

- I apologise for my tardiness," came a quiet and pleasant voice from behind the crowd, but it reached everyone's ears.

Everyone turned round, eager to see who had entered. It turned out to be a woman familiar to many of them, who often glimpsed Boss and Stone.

- So, my name is Sandra Evans," the woman introduced herself with a smile, standing up in front of the audience. - From today I will be your boss. Soon the PMC will be officially established, so we have a lot of work to do. I have already looked through your personal files and now I know what to do. I hope we'll work together. Does anyone have any questions?

- Yes! - Harris exclaimed and some of those present couldn't help but facepalm. - How competent are you?!

- If I've been approved for this position by the Head, then I'm competent. Or are you questioning the judgement of our leadership? - The woman asked calmly, tilting her head, but many people twitched with a sense of threat.

- No," the grinning rabbit answered, outwardly resisting the question. - I'd just like to know what you're capable of.

- Hmm, all right. How would you like to test me, Miss Harris?

- Hand-to-hand combat for starters! - Mia declared.

- Why not? You're going to test me? - Evans said with a smile.

- That's right! When do we start?!

- Right now. Why put it off?

- That's it for me!

Bunny got up from her desk and walked towards her boss. When there was three metres of distance between the women, Harris, with a wide grin, launched herself at full speed towards her opponent, only to fly back the next moment and fall to the floor.

- Does anyone else have any questions about my competence? - Sandra asked, glancing around the room as the rabbit tried to regain consciousness.

- 'No,' the raven commander replied. He was able to see how the woman was able to strike the main bully among the animals easily and casually. It was enough to understand the skills of the new boss.

- Miss Harris, what do you think? - The woman asked Mia.

- Ahem, you're awesome, Miss Evans! Your level of expertise suits me just fine! - said the rabbit with a satisfied face as she stood up on her feet.

- Thank you for such a flattering assessment.

The other pack leaders present also confirmed that they had no questions.

- Wonderful, - said Sandra, smiling kindly at those present. - Now let's talk about...

End of digression.

- ...And afterwards we discussed the highlights,' the woman finished.

- Heh, Mia is in her repertoire," I said thoughtfully. - She's a nagging nuisance. She's a rabbit raised to the absolute. You're going to have a hard time with her.

- I don't think it'll be a problem if you let her blow off steam on our enemies.

- I guess so. Then get ready, Miss Evans. The boys will soon have work to do in Latin America and Africa. You'll clear a certain area of gangs, drug dealers and other scum, then we'll set up new bases. You'll get all the data later.

- Got it. Anything else?

- No. Except to congratulate you on your promotion. I think you'll do very well in this position," I told the woman sincerely.

- Thank you, Mr Smith," Sandra replied with a grateful nod.

After saying goodbye to Evans, I leaned back in my chair and thought. It was time for vigorous expansion. First all of America, and then the rest of the world. And I need to resume active recruitment of subordinates.

But I'll get to that later. Tonight, the AI calculates that the Bride should be suppressed. The guys will cope without me, but for now it's better to be on the safe side. So, having finished my business for the day, I travelled to the base and watched the battle.

This time, with three E.P.O.S.s and only one Anomaly was much easier. In addition, the Bride possessed a white, psychic type of attack that was weakened by the Moonstone, further reducing her danger. Except that Anomaly's strongest ability, namely victim subjugation, became a bit of a problem. The Bride was able to use it to break through the resistance for a couple of seconds, destroying the formation and buying herself some time. But in the end, she was defeated.

The E.P.O.S. she received mirrored her abilities. A bouquet of flowers as a weapon, a gift in the form of a veil and a dress instead of armour. The whole set concentrated on psychic influence and defence against it. Taken together, the set allowed one to bend to one's will, making the victim a "husband" or "wife", forcing them to fight for their soulmate.

The funny thing was who they wanted to give this E.P.O.S. to. The lot fell on a man, but unsurprisingly, he flatly refused to wear a wedding dress. At the same time for the sake of jokes and chuckles present tried to persuade him to wear the E.P.O.S.. The man forcefully fought off such a dubious honour.

Well, the guys did very well, so they deserve a bonus and a holiday. Too bad nobody's gonna give it to me.

Well, I'll have to use the Light that I've freed up. Together with the one I got from the Bride, I'll use the one collected at the bases and create a new Anomaly. Having teleported to the right room, I entered the collective unconsciousness and searched for a new Nightmare. It didn't take long, and in a matter of five minutes I was already waiting for the new monster to form.

- He had watched the humans eat his harem for too long. Now he's going to eat those bipedal apes himself.

Excuse me?

And to answer my question, there was a rooster. A very ordinary rooster, except for the angry look in his overly intelligent eyes.

- Cock-a-doodle-doo! - the Anomaly crowed in a high-pitched voice.

- And hello to you. M-maybe that's what you'll find in the fears of mankind, - I confided to the Cock-Killer, to which he contemptuously silent.

All right, then. Then go to the holding cell. I'm going to get some chicken.

Digression.

Carmen's mood had improved in recent days. Still, hiding alone is hard. Not physically, as the Warp rebirth had made her body many times stronger, but psychologically. Now that she had a loyal companion, life was a little easier. And today she had a new ally waiting to help her.

- Hospital? - Alexander asked the girl when they stopped at the entrance to the medical facility.

In the intervening time, Carmen had managed to convince the man to call her simply by her first name and change into something more casual.

- Exactly. I think you'll feel it soon enough," Reed said sadly, feeling the suffocating emotions flooding in from somewhere on the first floor.

Wanting to help the doomed woman as quickly as possible, she walked briskly towards the room she knew. As in the case of the church, the surrounding people simply did not notice the intruders, submitting to Carmen's wishes. As they approached their target, Anderson began to feel what the Holy Maiden felt. But this only strengthened his resolve. After all, helping someone who was suffering so much was a very worthy cause.

While he was pondering, Carmen had already arrived at the door to the ward and stepped inside without hesitation. The man hurriedly followed her. There was a single patient inside, staring out the open window. She looked creepy. Rough scars were visible all over her skin, not hidden by clothing or bandages, and there were numerous devices hooked up to the woman, registering her condition.

But things were far more serious on the inside than they were on the outside. Lillian White, that was the patient's name, had been disabled in a car accident and could only move her eyes. Even talking was impossible for her. Her fractured and somewhat reunited body was in terrible pain, and she was constantly drugged with painkillers. But it was not the bodily pain that really tormented the woman, but the mental pain.

She was the one to blame for the car accident. Lillian had been distracted by her sister's daughter and had failed to turn in time, crashing into a speeding lorry. In some twisted mockery of fate, only Lillian herself survived out of a family consisting of a husband, two wives and a child.

And for more than six months now she has been living in a natural Hell, having lost everything she had, except for her parents who paid for her treatment. Living with the knowledge that she was responsible for what happened. White couldn't even end her life. All she could do was cry, and when her tears dried up, stare out the window.

And now some strangers came to her. For a brief moment she had a mad hope that they would finally interrupt her suffering, but that feeling was gone. This must be her punishment, the woman thought, and cried helplessly.

- Well, well, well, don't cry Lillian! - said an unknown girl with brown hair and red eyes in a voice full of sympathy.

For a while White felt relieved by this magical voice. As if everything that had happened had not happened to her. But it didn't last long, and the woman cried again.

- I know how much it hurts," the stranger continued in a penetrating voice, tears streaming from her eyes. She gently stroked Lillian's face with her warm palm and then squeezed the woman's fingers tightly. - Losing your family in one day is terrible. But I can make the pain go away. Let me help you, Lillian.

This girl... She... Her voice was so beautiful, so understanding and sincere that it wanted to be followed for an eternity.....

And White accepted the stranger's offer with a blink of her eyes. Such a sign was enough for her.

- Dive into your despair," she said, and a clot of something unearthly lit up in her palm. She brought it to Lillian's chest and plunged it in. - Let it swallow you whole and become a shield. Let pain be your weapon. From now and forever!White obeyed and summoned all her negative feelings. She just wanted it to end and it didn't matter how. Except that the pain suddenly twisted her exhausted body with renewed vigour.

- Mmmmmmmmmm!!! - Lillian tried to scream, but the girl clamped her mouth shut.

- Shh! Be patient a little longer dear! Just a little more! - Carmen asked, holding White tightly and controlling the Distortion process.

Tears spurted from the pain tearing her body and mind, and she twitched, trying to ease the horrible sensations. The torture went on for what seemed like an eternity. By the end of it, White could only wheeze faintly. At the same time, her scars smoothed out and her hair grew back rapidly.

But suddenly, quite unexpectedly, all the pain was gone. Lillian was also amazed to realise that she could move her limbs!

- I can move..." she whispered hoarsely. - I can move!

With a shout, the woman ripped off the drip, along with her clothes, which had become tattered rags, and jumped to her feet. Being naked in front of other people and completely oblivious to this fact, she began to frantically examine herself.

Now Alexander, it was obvious to her that she was young and was more of a girl along with Carmen. Lillian had beautiful dark brown hair, reaching up to her tailbone, big eyes, the colour of gold, a cute, oval face and a stunning athletic figure, with large breasts and wide hips. Now examining herself, she was twirling and displaying all this splendour in various very hot angles.

From such a sight the holy father's blood pressure even began to rise, from which he loosened the collar of his shirt. Excitement at the sight of a beautiful girl, despite the dead wives, was not something terrible for the man. A normal physiological reaction. Besides, as a man he had a duty to society and could not wear mourning all his life. And after the rebirth all his feelings for the dead family were still strong, but as if they were shrouded in a kind of veil. Alexander explained it by the desire not to be distracted from the important mission entrusted to him by the Goddess and the Holy Virgin*.

While the Holy Father was thinking, Lillian calmed down a little.

- I have no pain! This terrible pain is finally gone! - she exclaimed in amazement, referring to her mental anguish. And then she saw Alexander, whom she hadn't noticed before, concentrating on Carmen. - Um, who's that? And who are you?

- My name is Carmen Reed, and this is Alexander Anderson," she introduced herself and her companion nodded in greeting. - And you're Lillian White, I know.

- I wonder where you're from? - Distortion asked, throwing a blanket over her body.

- I'll explain it to you later. Right now, something else is more important. I'd like to ask you for your help.

- Yeah? What kind of help?

- In saving the world, as pathetic as that sounds," Carmen said heartfelt, putting a hand to her chest and stepping closer to White. - There is a being who wants to change the world for the better, but in his arrogance he may fail and endanger the entire Earth. I don't want that outcome for the planet and so I'm putting together a team to help me save all of humanity.

- Heh, I owe you anyway, so you can count on my help! - said Lillian, stretching her limbs. - Oh, and it should be fun to participate in something like this! Besides, my body is literally bursting with power and I want to test it out!

- That's great! Let's find you some clothes and go to our base.

- Yeah, but we should get something to eat," Lillian suggested, rubbing her stomach. - It felt like she hadn't eaten in ages.

- Good idea! - Carmen said. - Come on, there's a great place not far away!...

End of retreat.

Yes, the chicken was good, I ordered it for a reason. Now it's time to meet Benji. He said he found something interesting. One teleport, and I was next to my friend. He'd been notified of my arrival in advance, so he wasn't surprised.

- Kyle, I stumbled upon the so-called Morlocks," he began without prelude.

- Hmm..." I stretched out, trying to remember who they were. - Mutants with serious external deformities?

- That's right. Their habitat is under the city, in the tunnels. And there are some interesting abilities among them. Could they be useful to us? - Ben asked, adjusting his glasses.

- We should take a look. And you know what? I'll do it in person and right now. Throw down what you've got and I'll work with these guys.

My friend nodded and touched his E.G.O. and wrote the information into my brain. I nodded to Benji and teleported closer to where the Morlocks lived.

It took me about twenty minutes, if not more, to get to their settlement. I'd never been in the sewer tunnels beneath the city before. And to be honest, I didn't want to repeat the experience. But I hoped to find a pearl in the pile of dung (both literally and figuratively).

So when I finally reached the Morlocks' location, I breathed a sigh of relief. There were a couple of mutant guards standing at the entrance to the large room. They didn't look as scary as I'd hoped. The first was covered in black fur, while the second was covered in scales and spikes. Both mutants had badly worn clothes.

- Hey! Who the hell are you?! - The hairy one asked me in surprise, jumping in surprise as I rounded the corner. Her partner tensed, but didn't say a word.

- I'm Pluto, Yesterday's Promise," I said, smiling kindly and bowing, taking off my cylinder. - And anticipating your next question, I will say that I came here in search of future employees.

- What?! Employees?! - she exclaimed, glancing at the man. He was as surprised as the hairy one.

- Exactly! And rest assured, I know that this wonderful place is home to the so-called Morlocks. You are exactly what I need.

- And for what purpose? For experiments? - came the scaly voice, squinting suspiciously.

- No! Of course not! - I immediately refused, shaking my head negatively. - I'm looking for workers! You could say I'm a recruiter! I'm a bounty hunter, heh-heh-heh!

My laughter made the couple shiver.

-So, can you let me through? - I checked with them and continued in a heartfelt manner. - Believe me, I mean no harm.

- ...All right, Pluto. But we'll be watching you! If you pull any tricks, you'll be in trouble! - said the woman.

- I had no idea! - I assured her sincerely.

- Well, follow me, then. Ed, watch the entrance while I'm gone.

- Mm-hmm," the man mumbled.

I followed the lady. Pretty quickly we were followed by a lot of interested mutants of all shapes and sizes. I don't think I'd be wrong in assuming that new faces, and such unusual ones at that, are not a common occurrence here.

I wasted no time and scanned the people around me, looking for strong people. Humans, because that's what mutants were to me. And I did spot a few interesting guys. All that's left is to turn them to the Dark Side of the Force, heh-heh-heh!

- Marie, who's that with you? - The woman with the ever-changing skin colour asked my escort when we reached the improvised square. The changes were chaotic, I realised.

- It's Pluto, some kind of promise.

- Not some promise, but Yesterday's Promise! - corrected her.

- And what do you want, Mr Yesterday's Promise? - the mutant turned to me suspiciously.

- I'm looking for employees," I repeated to her. There were surprised whispers in the audience after my answer.

- This is the first time I've ever seen anyone need us," a man with the appearance of the werewolf from the Van Helsing film barked mockingly.

- There's a first time for everything," I said philosophically, shrugging my shoulders and raising my voice before I could ask any more questions. - Dear, we have something that we need each other! Namely, you have abilities, while I have the ability to give you almost any appearance! Therefore, we can enter into a mutually beneficial co-operation!

- What?!

- Any appearance?! Is that possible?!

- He's lying!

- Dudes, don't believe in this bullshit! He's trying to experiment on us!

- Get the fuck out of here! You're not welcome here!

My proposal provoked a lot of discussion, questions and complaints from the mutants. Their leaders tried to calm down their subordinates, but it didn't work very well. Finally, tired of this mess, I used my aura of terror and shouted:

- TI-SHI-NA!!!

The screams were cut off like a knife.

- All right. And so. To prove my point, I'm willing to do a demonstration for free. Who's ready to hit the jackpot? - asked the audience, with a slight smile on his face and his arms out to the sides. - Keep in mind, such an offer may be once in a lifetime!

- Я! I'm ready! - shouted one of the mutants, stepping to the front row.

He looked quite sad. The guy had serious muscle volume, but there was no harmony in his body, rather the opposite. All skewed and hunched over, with bones growing out from under his skin here and there, and bundles of muscles attached in some way, the guy looked pretty fucked up. Besides, this mutant didn't have long to live. This whole nightmare was taking its toll on his internal organs, slowly killing him.

I also noticed that one of the locals, with a background of curious emotion, went off somewhere. Hmm, looks like something interesting is coming.

- Archie, this could be dangerous! - said the coloured woman, blinking vigorously like a traffic light as she tried to persuade the hunched mutant. - We don't know this Pluto! Who knows if he'll honour his words!

- I do! But you're suggesting I die in a couple of years?! I want to live a long and happy life if possible! Ha-ha-ha!

- Look Archie, I'm sure we'll find a way out! - as the rest of the crowd fell silent. - The other mutants will help us!

- I'm afraid I won't make it to that point! Ha-ha-ha! Better to take our chances! - Archie stated emphatically and turned to me. - What should we do?

- But...

- Nothing. Just stay still," I told the boy.I came closer to him, put my palm to his chest and repeated Benjamin's ability to control information, supplemented by the effect on reality with Light. Albeit fatuous in terms of spending, but the first example should be the most illustrative. And the way the people around me gasped in unison when the mutant's body began to change for the better, only confirmed the correctness of my actions.

After a minute or so, Archie looked like a normal human, except more muscular and taller than the average man. After the procedure was over, he began to examine his body, groping it as if he wanted to make sure it wasn't an illusion. When he was sure it was real, Archie turned to me, barely holding back tears:

- S-thank you Mr Pluto! I feel so good for the first time in my life! How can I repay you?!

- If you wish, you can work for me," he replied, smiling and clapping me on the shoulder. - But it's not necessary. Like I said, the first time was free. But the rest of them you'll have to pay for. And yes, anticipating your questions, I will tell you that there are no side effects! Archie is now completely healthy and can use his powers as he sees fit!

Immediately, there was an uproar amongst those who wanted to get back to normal. When they saw that the healing was real, many of them put aside their disbelief and began to bombard me with requests, agreeing to almost any job. However, there were also sceptics who feared all sorts of pitfalls.

Archie was surrounded by his former mates, trying to find out how he felt and so on. At the same time, they were all jealous to one degree or another.

Now the local leaders could not interfere with me in any way, because then they would be torn apart by other mutants. And despite the fact that it seemed to have found a cure for their problems, the local boogers were not particularly happy with what had happened.
