Chapter 39 - Your Lives Will Be Claimed by My Maid
Jin Jiuxiao stood in front of Ji Lingtian and the others, with his Tianwen Sword still dripping with blood.
The Tianwen Sword was Jin Jiuxiao’s lifebound sword. Even after reaching the Great Emperor realm, he did not replace it; instead, he nurtured it with his Emperor-level cultivation. Now, the Tianwen Sword could easily sever an Immortal King with a mere swing.
Jin Jiuxiao was currently using the Tianwen Sword as if it were an ordinary iron sword, its sharpness deliberately retracted.
The four trembled in fear. Ji Lingtian went so far as to kowtow and beg for mercy, while Lin Su and her two children at least showed some backbone, merely closing their eyes to await death.
Jun Jiuxiao smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I won’t kill you.”
The four were surprised to hear this, but since Jun Jiuxiao had publicly stated he wouldn’t kill them, they believed he wouldn’t go back on his word. They felt they had finally been spared.
The onlookers were also puzzled. Jun Jiuxiao had single-handedly provoked the entire Ji family, even drawing out the ancestor, yet he wasn’t going to kill anyone? What was the reason?
Jun Jiuxiao continued, “Your lives will be taken by my maid herself.”
Ji Lanqing showed no dissatisfaction. Jun Jiuxiao had already told her that the lives of Ji Lingtian’s family would be left for her to deal with.
Hearing that Ji Lanqing would personally come to take her life, Ji Yuexi showed disdain.
Ji Lanqing had lost her spirit bone and fire spirit body, becoming utterly useless, struggling even to cultivate. How could she dream of taking their lives?
Lin Su also felt relieved. She wasn’t afraid of Ji Lanqing, this cultivation-impaired waste.
Jun Jiuxiao had intentionally revealed only half the truth, letting Ji Lingtian’s family fluctuate between hope and despair. Wasn’t that more satisfying?
Jun Jiuxiao spoke again, “However, I’ll collect some interest for my maid first.”
He sent a streak of spiritual energy into Ji Lingtian and Lin Su’s bodies, saying, “Parents should help pay their children’s debts, shouldn’t they? This spiritual energy in your bodies will cause you to experience the pain of ten thousand ants gnawing at your bones for two hours each day. No medicine can cure it, nor can it be alleviated.”
As a Great Emperor, only another cultivator of the same realm could dispel Jun Jiuxiao’s spiritual energy.
In this world, Jun Jiuxiao was the only Great Emperor, so naturally, this was incurable and unresolvable by anyone else.
As for why it only lasted two hours a day, if it were constant, they would become numb to the pain, making it less unbearable. With only two hours of pain daily and no pain the rest of the time, the suffering would be even more difficult to endure when it came.
Jun Jiuxiao believed that people like Ji Lingtian and Lin Su wouldn’t bear to commit suicide, only finding release when Ji Lanqing came to kill them.
Ji Yuexi and Ji Hao’s faces showed hidden joy, glad that only Lin Su and Ji Lingtian would suffer while they were spared.
Ji Lingtian, however, begged Jun Jiuxiao, “Holy Son, please give my pain to my two children. Let them bear it for me.”
What a fine example of filial piety.
Lin Su remained silent. Unlike Ji Lingtian, she loved her children and was willing to endure the pain herself.
Of course, Jun Jiuxiao wouldn’t let Ji Hao and Ji Yuexi rejoice for long. He then said to Ji Hao, “Giving you the spirit bone was simply defiling it.”
Jun Jiuxiao slowly extracted the spirit bone from Ji Hao’s body, who wailed in agony, “My Spirit Bone, it’s my Spirit Bone! Don’t leave me, Spirit Bone, don’t leave me!”
Jun Jiuxiao paid no heed. After extracting the spirit bone, he asked Ji Lanqing, “Do you still want it? I can return it to your body.”
Ji Hao, now bereft of the spirit bone, slumped to the ground, his expression vacant. Lin Su glared at Ji Lanqing with venomous eyes.
She did not dare to glare at Jin Jiuxiao with such venom; she feared he might kill her. Lin Su was merely someone who feared the strong and bullied the weak.
Ji Lanqing ignored Lin Su’s gaze and looked at the freshly extracted spirit bone with disgust, saying, “It’s too dirty. I don’t want it anymore.”
Upon hearing this, Jin Jiuxiao crushed the spirit bone with a single hand.
The onlookers lamented the loss, thinking, You find it dirty? Give it to me, I don’t mind.
Jin Jiuxiao then turned to Ji Yuexi and said, “It’s a pity. The Fire Spirit Body is already integrated with you. If I force it out, you’ll die too. I said your life is meant for Ji Lanqing to claim personally.”
Ji Yuexi felt a flicker of hope; perhaps she could keep the Fire Spirit Body.
The Ji family ancestor shared this hope, silently watching Jin Jiuxiao, hoping he would leave the Fire Spirit Body with Ji Yuexi.
Jin Jiuxiao stroked his chin and frowned, “Or should I just kill you directly?”
With one sentence, he plunged Ji Yuexi and the ancestor’s mood back into the abyss.
Finally, Jin Jiuxiao asked Ji Lanqing, “Do you still want this Fire Spirit Body?”
“No, it’s too filthy.” Ji Lanqing’s voice remained cold.
“Then we’ll leave it on her for now,” Jin Jiuxiao decided.
The ancestor and Ji Yuexi’s nearly dead hearts revived once more.
The onlookers couldn’t help but inwardly complain—this Xuantian Holy Son was truly torturing people with his constant mood swings, raising their hopes one moment and crushing them the next.
“However, you’re not worthy of her blood essence,” Jun Jiuxiao said, and began extracting Ji Yuexi’s blood. He ordered the ancestor to feed Ji Yuexi blood-replenishing spirit medicine, otherwise he wouldn’t be responsible if she accidentally died from blood loss.
Jun Jiuxiao wasn’t one to do unprofitable business. He wouldn’t waste spirit medicine on an the grotesque Ji Yuexi.
No one could take advantage of Jun Jiuxiao—except Ji Lanqing, of course. He didn’t mind her benefiting from him since he had already gained more from her. Plucking a feather from her was no big deal.
The Ji family ancestor had no choice but to angrily administer the elixir to Ji Yuexi, his veins bulging with rage.
As for the extracted blood, Jun Jiuxiao didn’t even bother asking Ji Lanqing if she wanted it. He directly annihilated in the air.
After being drained of the blood, Ji Yuexi lay on the ground like a dead dog. Without Ji Lanqing’s blood to nourish her Fire Spirit Body, she would now suffer the backlash of it every month—a torment not much different from the “thousand ants devouring bones” punishment inflicted on Ji Lingtian and Lin Su.
Ji Lanqing calmly brought a basin of clean water for Jun Jiuxiao to wash his hands.
No one paid attention to Ji Lingtian’s family lying on the ground looking dead. All eyes were on Jun Jiuxiao, fearing the Holy Son might pull another unexpected move.
The Ji family ancestor also watched Jin Jiuxiao nervously, worried he might change his mind again.
After Ji Lanqing finished wiping his hands, Jun Jiuxiao turned around as if he was about to speak. The ancestor’s heart, which had just settled, shot up again.
“Don’t be nervous. I just want to say that this matter ends here for today. My maid will come to exact revenge on the Ji family personally. You all continue to eat and drink well, enjoy yourselves. I’ll be taking my leave now,” Jun Jiuxiao said.
With that, he led Ji Lanqing and the others back to their carriage, riding away on nine Void Heaven Realm flood dragons.
