Chapter 6
Chapter 6
“Harrymel, good morning. Today—”
“There’s someone in the hallway.”
“Harrymel, is there anything you particularly like? Food or colors?”
“There’s someone in the opposite school building.”
“You’re always studying so hard. It’s important to take a break. Let’s relax together…” “Ah…Someone just walked by with a dog on that street!”
“Damn that woman!”
In his private room, Rojis punched a cushion.
“Is she trying to make a fool out of me? A mere baron’s daughter?!”
“Now, now, calm down.”
“But she’s tougher than I expected!”
Honestly, Rojis thought that any teenage girl would be flattered if he spoke to her. In addition to his status as a duke’s son, he had jet-black hair, slanted eyes, a well-proportioned body, and excellent grades. Countless noble ladies were vying for the position of his fiancée, and daughters of lower status were aiming to be his mistress. He thought that even the most studious noble lady would be moved to tears if he professed his love, but for some reason, he hadn’t even been given a chance to say anything!
“Well, there’s nothing we can do unless we can soften Lady Remington’s attitude,” Dian said, stroking his chin in thought.
“I can’t imagine her softening,” Rojis said as he remembered her attitude.
She acted as if talking to him was a waste of time.
Rojis bit down on his lip. Never in his life had a woman treated him so coldly. It was a given that they would come to him without him even having to speak a word, and whether they were shy or stoic, they would blush when he spoke to them.
And yet—‘We can’t talk in public.’
Damn it!
She’s the first woman to say that and she isn’t even cute!
As Rojis’ irritation grew, Teona, who had been deep in thought, exclaimed, “I know!”
“You should gift her something! Surely, she can’t ignore that!”
“A gift; that’s a good idea,” Dian agreed.
“A gift, like a ring or a necklace?”
“No, silly. If you give her something like that before you’re engaged, she’ll be put off. Something cheap and casual, like candy or a ribbon, should do.” Teona puffed out her chest proudly.
“Just leave it to me. I’ll select something that any girl would love.”
Since Teona loved fashion and trends, she was probably right. Rojis tried to imagine Harrymel being happy with a gift, but all he could picture was her looking at him with a forced smile and disinterest.

“I’m home.”
“Oh, Harrymel.”
It was Harrymel’s habit to go straight to her room as soon as she got home, but unfortunately, her mother caught up with her today.
“Where are you returning from so late again?”
“I was studying in the library.”
She was tired of the same old nagging, and, of course, her mother responded the same way as always.
“What’s the point of a girl studying so hard? You’ll never gain more charm, no matter how long you study. You should learn from Marie-el!”
Her older sister, Marie-e who had married three years ago, was her mother’s pride and joy.
She was gentle, obedient, and the complete opposite of Harrymel.
“Since you’re attending such a prestigious academy, you should make some nice friends and get courted by fine gentle—”
“I don’t have time for that.”
Harrymel abruptly cut off the conversation and stomped off to her room.
If Mother knew that I had gained a confession from a duke’s son, she would make a big fuss.
And if Harrymel explained that it was a false confession, she would probably say something like, ‘Because you got better grades than boys, you ended up in a situation like this.’
“I won’t ever back down,” Harrymel murmured to herself.
