I’M A MIST SHINOBI IN NARUTO

Chapter 9: CHAPTER 9

Even Terumi Mei, known for her confidence and poise, felt a chill run down her spine. Yuto's attitude was outright defiant, and it was clear he had managed to anger Mizukage Yagura.

"Be a bit more respectful," Terumi Mei whispered, tugging discreetly at the corner of Yuto's shirt. "This guy is Mizukage, after all. Show some restraint for my sake."

Yuto, however, remained unfazed. "It's nice of me to even show up," he said casually, his tone neither loud nor soft, but perfectly audible to Yagura.

Yagura's lips curled into a tight smile, though his green eyes gleamed with a dangerous light. "You're young," he said with a forced laugh, "but your temper is sharp."

The tension in the room was palpable, but Yagura decided to push forward. "Fine, let's get to the point."

Yagura's expression turned cold and calculating. "The village has suffered significant losses. I originally planned to send the Seven Ninja Swordsmen to attack Konoha to regain our strength and morale. But thanks to your little… incident with Loquat Shizang, that plan is on hold.

"So, Yuto, you'll fill the vacant spot left by Juzo."

Yuto raised an eyebrow but said nothing, waiting for him to continue.

"And you, Terumi Mei," Yagura added with a smirk, "since you seem so eager to follow your brother everywhere, you'll be going with him."

Terumi Mei's eyes narrowed. She could see right through Yagura's intentions—this was nothing short of a death mission. A subtle but unmistakable attempt to rid himself of two potential threats.

"And one more thing," Yagura said, leaning forward slightly, his voice now tinged with malice. "I have some information that might interest you, Yuto. Would you like to hear it?"

Yuto's eyes locked onto Yagura's. "Say it," he replied flatly, though the tension in his voice was evident.

Yagura's lips curled into a fox-like grin, clearly enjoying the control he held over the situation. "The murderer of your parents… was from Konoha."

Both Yuto and Terumi Mei's heads dipped slightly—more out of necessity than respect, as Yagura's diminutive stature made eye contact awkward.

"Konoha ninja?" Yuto's voice faltered for the first time. His memory of his parents was faint, but the thought of avenging them struck a deep chord within him.

"When your parents were on a mission, they were ambushed by Konoha shinobi," Yagura explained smoothly. "They were outnumbered and overwhelmed. Their deaths were kept quiet to avoid unrest, and because, frankly, you lacked the strength to act on the truth. But now…"

Yagura's smile widened. "You have the strength, Yuto. And the right to know."

Terumi Mei's eyes flicked to Yagura, catching the undertone of manipulation in his words.

"And one more thing," Yagura added, his tone turning icy. "I despise the Uchiha. Your blood, Yuto, disgusts me. It's vile, and so are you."

Yuto clenched his fists, but his face remained stoic. "So, you're just trying to use me as a weapon against Konoha?"

"Use you?" Yagura feigned surprise, spreading his hands innocently. "I'm just telling you the truth. What you choose to do with it is entirely up to you."

His tone was casual, but his intentions were as clear as day.

"Every village engages in these kinds of tactics," Yagura continued. "Assassination, subterfuge… it's the way of the shinobi world. If you want revenge, you know where to go."

Yagura leaned back in his chair, dismissing them with a wave of his hand. "That's all I had to say. You can leave now."

Yuto stared at Yagura, his dark eyes unflinching. Then, with a glance at Terumi Mei, he muttered something under his breath.

"Sister, I think you'll be taking his place sooner than expected."

Terumi Mei blinked, caught off guard by his words. "What… what do you mean?"

Yuto didn't respond, but the subtle smirk on his face spoke volumes.
