If You Could Hear My Heart

Chapter 1519: 1519: Forcing Xiao Mo

Xia Chuqing watched and watched, then finally closed her eyes. She was genuinely happy today, but also thoroughly exhausted…

Balloons bounced in front of her, like little goldfish. And she, she felt as if she were submerged in the ocean.

She fell asleep, and in her sleep, the corners of her lips curved upward, as though she was having a wonderfully beautiful dream.

As Xiao Mo approached her step by step, she didn't react at all.

"Really can sleep." Xiao Mo glanced at her helplessly. Though he mocked her a bit, he still took off his suit jacket.

After covering her with it, he scooped her up and carried her to the hotel room.

When Xia Chuqing felt Xiao Mo's body against hers, it was soft—not hard like a wall. Instinctively, she reached out and held onto his arm.

Xiao Mo's body stiffened; this was the first time a woman had held him like that.

"Let go. I'll put you on the bed," Xiao Mo said to the sleeping Xia Chuqing.

Xia Chuqing was deep in slumber, her post-drinking sleep incredibly sweet.

Seeing that she wasn't reacting, Xiao Mo had no choice but to pry her fingers open.

He hadn't drunk too much and, given his tolerance, remained clear-headed.

But Xia Chuqing's youthful scent lingered around his nose, his blood rushing through his veins, making it hard to control himself.

He forcibly pried her away from himself, tossed her onto the bed, and tucked her in.

Even so, Xia Chuqing didn't wake up, still lost in her drunken haze.

The thing she was holding was gone, so she reached around aimlessly.

Xiao Mo sighed and reluctantly stuffed a pillow into her arms.

Feeling the pillow, Xia Chuqing was finally satisfied, sleeping deeply again, her smile deepening at the corners of her lips.

She began dreaming—dreaming of her childhood…

Her childhood was the happiest time of her life, without a doubt.

She dreamed of playing with the neighborhood kids, of course including Song Heng.

Song Heng was a little troublemaker, always stealing her things and breaking the rules during games.

For instance, she dreamed of all the kids playing "Duck-Duck-Goose" together, and Song Heng secretly opened his eyes!

She caught him instantly and shouted, "Song Heng, you're misbehaving again!"

And just like that, she shouted the words aloud, causing Xiao Mo, who was still standing by the bed, to freeze.

Such an ambiguous phrase…

Misbehaving?

Looks like things progressed quite swiftly between them back in Paris.

Xiao Mo glanced at Xia Chuqing on the bed, silently moving to sit on the sofa.

He sent a text to Xu Chaomu, saying that Xia Chuqing had gotten drunk, held onto him and wouldn't let go—so he brought her to the hotel to rest. No need to worry.

Xu Chaomu blinked at the message several times.

The level of information… was a bit overwhelming.

Held onto him and wouldn't let go?

Xu Chaomu knew Xia Chuqing's personality: carefree and bold. But when drunk…

She wouldn't have gone so far as to overpower Xiao Mo, would she…

Xu Chaomu coughed lightly; the mental image she conjured was a bit vivid. Back in the day, she hadn't even managed to overpower Shen Chi.

Xu Chaomu sent back a text: "Take good care of Chuqing."

"Got it."

Right at that moment, Jiajia complained from the side: "I added President Xiao, but why won't he talk to me?"

Xu Chaomu replied, "He's probably drunk and went home."

"Makes sense." Jiajia put her phone away.

After the wedding ended, Shen Chi and Xu Chaomu saw off the guests and returned to the hotel.

"Would you prefer to spend our wedding night at home or at the hotel?" Shen Chi asked, wrapping his arm around her waist, his tone teasing.

"At home."

"Alright. Did you drink too much?"

"Nope. My tolerance is great!" Xu Chaomu huffed lightly.

"Then what if I'm drunk? You remember, I'm pretty beastly when I drink…"

"Shen Chi, you damned brat!" Xu Chaomu pinched him. "How can you sound so clear-headed while claiming you're drunk? I don't believe you."

"Tonight at Waterside Pavilion, maybe?" Shen Chi smirked.

Xu Chaomu immediately understood the implication—Waterside Pavilion meant they wouldn't be disturbed, as both little ones had been sent back to the Shen Family.

Half protesting, half yielding, she said, "Fine, let's go then."

As usual, Old Cheng drove them home. All the way there, Xu Chaomu chattered endlessly with Shen Chi.

"Hubby, let me show you the text Xiao Mo just sent me." Xu Chaomu pulled up the message for him.

After reading it, Shen Chi chuckled: "Alone with a single man and single woman—it's easy for things to happen."

"A handful of young girls asked me for Xiao Mo's number tonight."

"If your hubby weren't already married, it wouldn't just be a handful."

"Are you feeling regretful?"

"No, my wife is worth several handfuls combined." Shen Chi smirked suggestively.

"That doesn't sound like a compliment." Xu Chaomu muttered, shooting him a sidelong glance. "Speaking of which, let me ask you a gossip question: has Xiao Mo ever been with another woman?"

Shen Chi frowned at her, his face full of disdain: "How would I know?"

"Don't you claim to know everything?"

"Why don't you ask me how many hairs are on your head?" Shen Chi looked exasperated.

"How many hairs are on my head?"

"…"

The banter continued between Xu Chaomu and Shen Chi until they arrived at Waterside Pavilion.

After dropping them off, Old Cheng didn't linger, ensuring not to disturb the fourth young master and mistress on their wedding night.

Shen Chi carried Xu Chaomu, still dressed in her wedding attire, all the way into the house.

"Hubby, take me to see the stars," Xu Chaomu said.

The Waterside Pavilion rooftop was spacious—perfect for enjoying the summer night's stars.

Shen Chi obliged and carried her up to the rooftop.

"Were you satisfied with today's wedding?" Shen Chi asked.

"Isn't it not over yet? That'll depend on your performance tonight."

Shen Chi leaned closer, playfully planting kisses on her neck. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you're satisfied. As many rounds as you want—I hope you're ready to not be able to leave the bed tomorrow."

Xu Chaomu hesitated. She remembered well how wild he could be in bed…

After enjoying the night breeze for a while, Shen Chi brought out his treasured red wine, sharing it with Xu Chaomu.

Sipping wine with the summer wind on her face, gazing at the moon and stars—Xu Chaomu felt truly content.

After some time, Xu Chaomu began to feel tipsy. She squinted at Shen Chi and said, "Hubby, didn't you mention once that you'd make a set of sexy wedding lingerie for me?"

"It's in the wardrobe. I figured you'd feel shy wearing it, so I didn't show it to you." Shen Chi's smile carried a deeper meaning.

"Then I'll try wearing it tonight."

"Sure. There's also lace pajamas; you can pick one yourself later."

"How about I wear them all for you to see?"

"I wouldn't object."

Half-drunk, Xu Chaomu was carried back to their room by Shen Chi—it was already eleven at night.

Opening the wardrobe, she found an array of new outfits inside.

She spotted the wedding lingerie. "Is it this one?"

"Yeah."

Xu Chaomu took it out for a closer look. It wasn't overly revealing; she didn't feel shy about wearing it for Shen Chi.

Standing before the mirror, she removed her wedding dress in front of Shen Chi and began changing into the lingerie.

"Looks pretty good!" Xu Chaomu remarked to the mirror.
