Chapter 1503: 1503: This Uncle likes Younger Women
May, Shen Family.
Early in the morning, Xu Chaomu personally made an animal-shaped cake for Xiaobao.
Xiaobao stared at the freshly baked, fragrant cake and casually grabbed a bunny-shaped piece, stuffing it into his mouth.
"Eat slower, don't choke," Xu Chaomu warned him.
Xiaobao glanced at her. "I know!"
Shen Chi had already eaten. Rarely, he didn't rush off to the company early but instead sat on the sofa reading the newspaper.
"Honey, do you want to try one?" Xu Chaomu called out.
"Sure, bring one over," Shen Chi replied without even lifting his head, continuing to read the paper.
"Alright, let me pick one… How about the Big Bad Wolf design for you?" Xu Chaomu giggled and speared one with a fork.
Shen Chi rarely liked her sweet treats—usually, he wouldn't have any—so it seemed someone was in a good mood today.
When Xu Chaomu walked over to him, Shen Chi had already caught a whiff of the cake's aroma. He looked up, lips curling slightly. "Feed me."
"…" Xu Chaomu's face reddened—their son was right there!
Xiaobao acted as if he didn't hear a thing, busy wolfing down his cake.
Actually, it wasn't that he didn't hear; he was just used to it! These two, sometimes they were open about it, and other times they were sneaky.
"Hmm?" Shen Chi gave her a look, as if saying he wouldn't eat unless she fed him.
Left with no choice, Xu Chaomu stuffed the cake into his mouth—it fit perfectly in one bite.
"Good?" Xu Chaomu didn't forget to ask.
"So-so."
"Can't you just praise me for once? Next time, I won't make anything for you!" Xu Chaomu pretended to complain.
Shen Chi leaned toward her ear and whispered, "Didn't I already say, nothing compares to you?"
"Was last night not enough?" Xu Chaomu, in rare high spirits, teased him back.
Shen Chi laughed. He saw that teasing little rascal of hers again—the side that belonged only to him.
Xiaobao shot them a disdainful look. Teasing each other again! He couldn't hear what they were saying, but just looking at them, he knew—it was nothing good.
"Fourth Young Master, Fourth Young Madam, the photo studio delivered your wedding photos," a servant hurried in.
Just as she finished speaking, Xiaobao leaped off his chair. "I want to see!"
"Bring them in!" Xu Chaomu said.
"Alright, alright!"
The servant brought in the staff from the photo studio—a beautiful store manager in her thirties.
"Mr. Shen, Mrs. Shen, everything has been prepared as you requested. Would you like to open them?" the manager asked.
"Go ahead."
Carefully, the manager unwrapped the wedding photos: framed in crystal, photo albums, desktop displays—there was a variety.
"Mommy looks so pretty!" Xiaobao was the first to rush over. "Old Shen is so handsome!"
Xu Chaomu glanced at them and chuckled. They really did look amazing.
The one smiling the most deeply was still Shen Chi. He stared at his bride in the photo, a soft smirk forming at the corners of his lips.
His little woman in her wedding dress was so exquisite, so flawless—more radiant than a pearl, so beautiful he couldn't tear his eyes away.
"There are photos of the young masters, too," the manager said, pulling out another bag.
"Oh, oh, oh! There's me and my brother, too!" Xiaobao eagerly leaned over the table.
Xiaobao and Erbao had taken lots of photos. Xiaobao grinned at the photos of himself and pointed seriously. "Who's this baby? Even cooler than me."
"Daddy, Mommy, look at how handsome and well-behaved this baby is—you two better treat him well in the future," Xiaobao declared.
The manager laughed. What a lovable kid.
"And how should I treat you well?" Shen Chi gave him a glance. "Pluck a star from the sky for you?"
Xiaobao pouted. "Forget it. Even if you did, you'd give it to Mommy, not me."
"Glad you know," Shen Chi replied.
"…" Xiaobao thought, Seriously, Old Shen doesn't even bother to humor me anymore.
After looking through the wedding photos and sending off the manager, Xu Chaomu started organizing to hang the pictures.
This wasn't something she was good at; she had to ask Shen Chi for help.
Shen Chi set the newspaper aside and followed her to the bedroom.
The largest wedding portrait was filled with blooming flowers and a vibrant spring scene. Shen Chi kissed Xu Chaomu's forehead in the image.
Xu Chaomu stared at the wedding photo without blinking. The longer she looked, the more she smiled.
By the time Shen Chi had hung all the photos, she was still gazing at them.
"Love-struck, staring at me again?" Shen Chi teased, pinching her cheek.
Xu Chaomu swatted his hand away and stood on tiptoe to hook her arms around his neck. "That's right! I'm looking at you! How are you so good-looking?"
"And you're beautiful," he replied.
Xu Chaomu burst into laughter. Shameless, the both of them.
As Xu Chaomu stored the photo album in a box, she stumbled upon their marriage certificate. She flipped it open, breaking into an even bigger grin.
The Shen Chi in the marriage certificate photo looked even more youthful than he did now, and she herself looked much younger, too.
Back then, she really was a young girl—bright-eyed, with baby fat on her cheeks.
And she even looked a little unwilling.
She remembered laughing a little because Shen Chi had tickled her palm.
Looking at the marriage certificate now, Xu Chaomu marveled at how magical time was.
"What's so fascinating? Who's this silly girl here?" Shen Chi came up behind her. "And this young man here, so dashing. How'd he end up with such a goofy-looking girl?"
"Hmph!" Xu Chaomu snorted. She stared at the photo. "What do you mean? This girl was glowing, tiny, and adorable! That young man… No, that 'old man' is the one acting like a cradle robber!"
"Really? I don't recall ever robbing you from a cradle."
"Oh, so it's my fault? You were just pretending to be reserved!" Xu Chaomu spun around and smacked him on the head with the marriage certificate.
Shen Chi thought, Okay, this one might be on me.
"Shen Chi, I'll give you one more chance. Who's acting goofy?" Xu Chaomu's voice turned icy.
Shen Chi immediately changed his tune. "I was talking about myself."
"That's more like it."
After hanging up all the wedding photos, Xu Chaomu dragged Shen Chi to Xiaobao and Erbao's bedroom to hang their pictures as well.
Xiaobao watched them work as he bounced around on the floor.
"Baby is the cutest! Baby is the liveliest! Baby is the most handsome!" Xiaobao clapped his hands in joy, hopping around and making the floor thud.
"Settle down!" Shen Chi shot him a cold glare.
"No, no, no!" Xiaobao wouldn't comply. He was just too happy. "Old Shen is just jealous of me—jealous that I'm cute and handsome!"
"Jump one more time and see what happens!" Shen Chi couldn't tolerate it anymore.
This kid jumped like an earthquake. How did he end up with such a mischievous son?
Xiaobao quickly clamped his feet together, not daring to jump again. Another jump, and Old Shen might actually get angry.
Still, he mumbled, "He's just jealous I'm younger than him!"
"…" Shen Chi held his forehead in exasperation.
Xu Chaomu laughed. This shamelessness, paired with such unrivaled confidence—it truly ran in the family.
Xiaobao stuck out his tongue at Shen Chi, then dashed out to find Erbao to play.
"Spoiled," Shen Chi sighed, powerless.
