Chapter 1 - Brigid with Zamasu Glasses
“Brigid Grimbursty! You’re fired!”
Mrs. Kat, Brigid’s employer’s wife, let out a shriek as she handed her a letter and a small box.
The small box contained a necklace from a famous brand.
Behind her Zamasu glasses, Brigid gave her employer’s wife a cold stare.
Brigid Grimbursti is twenty-three years old with flaxen hair tied in a bun. She’s short, but she boasts generous curves and dresses elegantly, though not in the latest fashion.
Despite being the daughter of a viscount in the Kingdom of Gimlen, she remains unmarried beyond the expected age due to her family’s declining fortune and the absence of a dowry.
Currently, she attends the Royal Academy Junior High School exclusively for entrance exam preparation as a female tutor and governess.
“…Did you open someone’s luggage without permission?” Brigid softly scolded.
Mrs. Catt blushed, roughly opening the letter and reading its contents.
“Dear Miss Brigid,
I’ve come across a beautiful stone that matches your hair. I’m gifting you this necklace. Please become my wife and stay with me forever.
Yours truly, Laurie Kat!”
Rory Kat is the owner of this mansion.
However, even though the words were read out loud, Brigid remained unfazed.
“This is a letter I received from your husband. But I politely declined it.”
I answered easily.
(I don’t like this kind of misunderstanding, so I purposely wear Zamasu glasses, keep my hair tied back, and don’t look fashionable, so why is this happening…)
Brigid feels foolish as her efforts are wasted.
“You received a necklace from such a famous brand and you turned it down!? Do you really think that excuse will work? You’re hiding from me!”
Brigid remains unfazed even when Mrs. Kat approaches her with the appearance of a prajna.
When I glanced at the window on the second floor, I saw the Kat family’s daughter, who had been taking the class a while ago, looking at her in fear.
The cat ears on his head were hanging back.
Until the children of this country reach the age of twelve, they retain the remains of beastmen. These include the ears and tail of an animal, and the instincts of its species. For example, in the case of carnivorous beastmen, the instinct of the species is violence.
At the age of twelve, at church sacrament of adulthoodSeijin HisekiIf you receive it, there will be no trace of the beastman left.
Nobles have strong beastman abilities, and their type instincts are also strong. This makes the Sacrament of Adulthood special and very expensive.
Brigid has no money because she recently had to raise money for her younger brother’s sacrament of adulthood.
The maids were grinning from behind.
“I was thinking of reselling the necklace.”
“You miser! What’s with the letter!”
“This is to leave it as evidence at the introduction office. Don’t you know that sexually harassing a governess is against the rules?”
Mrs. Kat shrieked as Brigid answered.
“Your husband is sexually harassing you!? There’s no way a plain woman wearing Zamasu glasses would be like that! She was famous for hating men, so I was relieved! You were the one who used her big breasts to seduce me! You thief cat. ! You were aiming for the position of legal wife just because you had a child!! Even though you are a governess, you can’t do anything like a lady and all you can do is study!! Fired! Fired!!”

While saying that, I tore the letter to shreds and threw it away.
(If you’re this angry, I don’t think you’ll get the necklace back. I wanted to resell it.)
Brigid lowered her head, thinking that the furious lady making a scene looked more like a cat.
(Even so, don’t you think it would be harmful to show your parents’ conflicts to your children?)
Brigid shrugged her shoulders and sighed. She believed it was cruel to expose children to the ugly conflicts between adults.
“I understand.”
Honestly, Brigid had also grown weary of it.
The familiar master who pretended to grab her upper arm and touched her chest at every opportunity, and the madam and maid who irritated her by assigning tasks beyond tutoring.
“If you pay me for today, I’ll never set foot in this mansion again.”
(I don’t know what will happen with your child’s entrance exam.)
Brigid answered, feeling sorry for the child.
Mrs. Kat threw the money recklessly and slammed the door shut.
“There’s nothing wrong with the money…”
Brigid shrugged her shoulders and picked up the money.
From the mansion’s window, the maids’ voices could be heard laughing, saying, “Brigid, the miserly miser, meets her downfall.”
Brigitte glanced at them and began to walk.
(However, I do have other letters of evidence. I’ll submit them to the introduction office tomorrow. I wonder how much they will charge for the recommendation with the temporary bonus.)
While pondering this, Brigid made her way toward the orphanage, where her true purpose in life lay.
It’s a bit late to explain, but Brigid Grimbursty is a reincarnated person.
Before her rebirth, she was a single woman in her thirties, working as an elementary school teacher. Unfortunately, she died from overwork.
It was only recently that she realized she had been reincarnated into a web novel she loved reading.
She found herself as just a background character, but when she had a fateful reunion with her boyfriend at an orphanage, she learned that she was inside the very web novel she had read.
Brigid’s favorite character, Nisha, happened to be the villain of the web novel.
Nisha grew up in a destitute orphanage, devoid of love, which led him down a dark path. His uncontrollable beastly nature persisted even after the sacraments of adulthood, driving him to commit violent acts in search of love.
He eventually rose to lead a criminal organization, attracting outcasts from society who couldn’t receive the Sacrament of Adulthood and other wanderers.
In the end, Nisha, now known as a mad dog, was destined to be killed by the novel’s protagonist, the young bishop of the cathedral.
(I want to make Nisha-kyun happy. However, I’m just a background character… So, I have to improve the orphanage’s conditions so that Nisha-kyun can find some peace…)
Thinking this, Brigid worked tirelessly to volunteer and donate to the orphanage.
The orphanage where Nisha resided was managed by volunteers from the town, and donations were scarce, making operations consistently challenging.
Brigid herself didn’t have much money, so her contributions were limited. However, they brainstormed and worked together to raise funds in any way possible.
“We need to hurry because the orphanage presentation is this weekend!”
Brigid quickened her pace.
Based on Brigid’s idea, the orphanage had recently decided to hold a monthly recital where the adorable orphans would sing, act, and perform. This way, they aimed to raise awareness about the orphans and find potential adoptive parents.
(If Nisha, an orphan, is destined for darkness, we should create an opportunity for him to meet potential adoptive parents.)
Brigid thought.
She truly wished to become Nisha’s stepmother, but she acknowledged
the possibility of it not happening. If someone came along who could provide a better life than she could, she would gladly step aside.
Brigid’s primary concern was Nisha’s happiness above all else.
