Icarus Awakens

If you're reading this, you've made it through all that I have written for Icarus Awakens. That or you just looked at the most recent chapter, though this is primarily intended for those who got here the hard way.

As mentioned some time ago, my work on this project ran into a wall at the end of book 4. Sadly, we have now reached that point. I want to say this happened both because of writer's block and a growing awareness of how I could have done better with this series. I certainly don't regret a moment spent writing this and feel proud of sustaining a story through multiple books, regardless of its flaws. I also believe that this is where the story ends. It's always possible I'll pick up this series again someday if inspiration and motivation conspire, but realistically my interest in doing so has fallen off.

I hope you've enjoyed this tale, imperfect it may be, and give you both my greatest appreciation and best wishes for making it all this way. It's no small thing to read over a million words and I'm honored that they were mine. Rather than disappointment at this series ending, I hope you find something new amidst the many talented authors of Royal Road to enjoy.

As for me, I'll continue enjoying this genre and community, reading of course, writing maybe if the mood strikes. Who knows? Icarus Awakens wasn't my only idea, and whether it's this series or the next, you may find me posting chapters again someday.
