Arc 4, Chapter 202—Britannia Soil!

"Why the hell was Exit way 47 so far?"

Shugo's voice cracked through the desert air, sweat streaming down his neck like melting wax. Levon also felt his head throb more and more the longer they traveled across the boiling desert. It's been 2 days now, and all he has seen is sand, ghouls, vampires… and more sand. Two days of blistering heat, endless sand and wretched stinks of dried blood.

He suddenly missed the cramped space on the airship. Even if its recycled air and tight cramped sitting arrangements, it was still a blessing compared to this inferno. Fortunately it was cooler at night, but more dangerous too.

Their group of travelling worms were attacked too many times to count. Wave after wave, the enemy descended on them like jackals. Throughout the night, they fought long and hard alongside other slayers and bloodrens, while Notchra slept and snored loudly. Levon swore he was in dire need of sound sleep.

"Another is coming!" One of the Bloodrens announced in the dead of night, causing everyone to spring into action again.

Finally, on the afternoon of the 3rd day, they reached what could be considered as safe grounds, seeing as it solely belongs to the church. They passed through the thick film of bubble that killed off any infected people.

It was surprising that these worms did not get bitten. They were surprised by the flexibility of these guys who were trained by the Order for one sole purpose-transportation. The worms also secreted strange fluids when attacked that made their outset bodies too strong for vampires below certain levels to infect or kill them.

"We're finally here!!!" Leo was so happy he wished to dance Kumbaya by a fireside. He was thirsty, and in dire need of a freakin bath!

Grooooooo~

The worms also seem to be excited to reach one of the places they considered home. They shook everyone off their bodies and rushed into a nearby desert forest with brown-sand-like trees and muddy sandy water.

Levon was taken aback. These were the first trees he has seen since his travel, apart from the one's around the Airport they came from. Those worms dived and went deeper and deeper underground, probably to recuperate before heading out again to pick up more travellers.

Many others watching thought so too… only, why can't the worms take them all the way to their destination, rather than dumping them here? Can't you see they were too exhausted right now?

Some Bloodrens grumbled, but soon had their eyes light up like stars when looking at the approaching stampede. Wouldn't you know it, some worms that have probably been resting all this while, also rushed towards Entry/Exit way 47... Remember, while they are going out, some are returning instead and would need transport to the airport they came from.

Several people watched to stop these worms and hop on their backs, but they were just too slow. The worms, as if sensing their intentions, buried themselves into the ground and rushed to their destination with haste.

'–' [The Bloodrens hoping to get a ride]: How stingy.

There was no gratitude on the faces of these Bloodrens towards the worms who did their best to take them all the way here. Some grumbled loudly and cursed at the worms. But seeing as they were already in a safe zone, they had no choice but to grit their teeth and walk forward.

Yes… those complaining were those too tired to activate their shards. As for Levon and several others… sorry, but they weren't Good Samaritans who would give such ungrateful people rides.

Whoosh!

They activated their shards, hopped on and flew towards the city-like structure ahead. And before Levon knew it, he found himself in a submarine… surrounded by desert…

Levon had to question himself over and over, if that made any sense at all. There's no water around, so why a submarine?

—20 minutes later, the submarine sped out of the city-like structure like a torpedo, travelling at maximum speed for 1 hour till it hit water!

Yes, that's right?... WATER!

If Levon was outside the Submarine and in the air, he would have been shocked by what he saw.

FUCK!!!

They were piercing through the turbulent borders that separated the Blood Line from the outside world.

If one would recall, no human ships or structures from the outside world have ever succeeded in making it to the Blood Line because of the deadly waters that tear everything apart like nanobytes.

No human or metal can withstand the supernatural currents there. But for those in the Blood Line, they had just the right materials to make the right transportation that would take them back and forth…. Or else how do you think they were able to bring Levon and his group into the Blood Line at the start?

The waters tore, the temperatures rose unnaturally, and every wave turned into a deadly blade with super sonic effects. The skies above these regions were too cloudy, thundering and blinding, making it hard for anyone to ever see through. Water tornadoes formed, sinking everything deeper and deeper into the abyss while destroying it too. It seemed the Heavens themselves kept roaring in these regions.

Yet the Submarine passed through slowly… but safely.

It took 6 entire hours for the submarine to fully cross the Border Line, and slowly enter normal human waters. Suddenly, the submarine picked up the pace, stopping at a massive farmland on a coastal town in Britannia.

Everyone deboarded and found themselves in a sewer-like tunnel. In silence, Levon and his gang followed Notchra and many others up several flights of stairs, and through a number of winding paths that led to a simple barn.

This was it!!!! They were in Britannia… only, not in the little village their mission was. However, just knowing they were in the continent, felt like their job was already half done.

Fufufufufu~

Notchra chuckled softly. "Come on, the sun's already setting. Time to find accommodations."

Tomorrow… they head for Grunwald Village.
