Chapter 195: Time To Shine
Arc 3, Chapter 195—Time To Shine

What an odd feeling he was getting. Levon woke up and felt his entire skin crawl. Yet his lips curled, revealing a crude smile. Perhaps it has something to do with today's matter? Levon shook his head sideways, thinking of the importance of today.
"Bro, you're getting the Heebie-jeebies too, right?" Shugo had returned from taking a bath. He walked in, shivering exaggeratedly. Leo followed behind him.
"Hey… I wonder why ours is different?"
"Yeah. Others can choose their missions but we can't… at least not our first, that is…"
It was odd—too odd to say the least. But what's the point of worrying about something they had no answers to? Everyone shrugged, only speaking about it in passing. After all, by the end of today, all truths will be revealed in the end, no?"
Soon enough the gang regrouped after the girls knocked on their door. They walked out of the dark but grand path, that was like a hurried hidden sight away from the main attraction.
That's right! As newbies, their residences were in the most conspicuous spots ever, deep, deep, further deep into the grand mansion. Although the rooms were an upgrade from their previous ones, it still made them wonder how grand the rooms of those living in the top echelon spots must look and feel like.
—Wealth shows power. Even when moving across the grand pathway, one could see that the decor was growing and getting better the closer they got to the grand entrance way. To their left were rooms, divided by several floors, and to their right were towering floor-to-ceiling windows.
It was also important to note that the further they advanced, the wider the space between the rooms and the floor-to-ceiling windows grew… The growing luxury was quite blinding.
After maneuvering their way out to the Grand Entrance way, they hopped on a peculiar elevator with no handles to hold on to, or any doors or walls for that matter. The elevator could only take them to and fro one destination.
They reached the top, and walked through yet another vast, winding corridor that led to a glass bridge connecting this building to another. And when they got to the other side, they came face to face with a Cafeteria.
It wasn't as grand as the general Cafeteria used by the entire Order… but it was still sizable enough to turn heads.
Looking around, one could only see unfamiliar faces. It seems that a majority of their newbies couldn't afford to eat a single meal here.
Ohhh?~
Didn't you know?
The only place where you can get a free meal, is in the 'Colony', the original Meal site everyone eats in.
{ The Hive was the nickname for the general medical center, while the Colony was the nickname for the General Cafeteria… as the interiors of both sites were intricately build resembling bee hives and ant colonies. }
Levon's eyes flickered when thinking of the amount of General Credited points he had his group were given prior to even knowing what their mission was. If one can remember, Florianna was given 298 Credited points, and the rest of her group wasn't far off.
As for him, he got 345 Credited Points… points he could now use as Currency.
Heading up front, they did as others did, getting meals and paying with their tattoos.
Sorry, but if you want to eat on Residential site… it's gonna cost yah! If you don't have any currency to spend, then you must go through the tedious adventure of heading back to the original site they came from to eat.
Damn. That's gonna take several hours… for some, maybe a whole day. Imagine waking up for breakfast and arriving there only on time for dinner. Who the hell has so much time up their sleeves for that? —well, that's what one might say if hunger wasn't grueling some people's intestines to death.
Remember that some people only had 5 currency points to their names after accepting missions. So if they squandered half of it now on a meal here, wouldn't that be foolish?
In the end, they had no choice but to make the difficult move of travelling back to their original residence, and recognizing where the Colony was from there. Some suffered, while others like Gorgendoyle, Florianna, Hendrix, and Victorio, ate hearty meals with their group before leaving for their missions.
That's right, every top player in their newbie group has already left for their individual missions.
Many ordinary people have also gone, while some choose to stick around until the final deadline for when they can go—Perhaps they were too anxious or afraid for what lay ahead during their mission time.
All in all, Levon couldn't see the familiar faces he typically looked out for. It seemed that only his group, among the top strong, was left. Everyone else had vanished.
Levon shrugged, enjoying his meal to the fullest before setting out to District 57 again. During these past few days, they had time to look around the District better. They realized that District 57 was like a gold mine.
They visited a place known as the Sky Pavilion, a grand towering structure that held all sorts of books they've never heard or seen. Books on skills, battles, vampires… it was all there. But for now, they had no access to any floor other than the first entrance section of the first floor.
Although District 57 mostly catered to Bloodrens 10 to 8, make no mistake, it was still a universal site where many higher Bloodren groups and slayers stop by. They might stop by to hand over because their missions entailed them to stop here, or they might stop by for Intel or to meet up with others. In the end, a majority of the district's were like this.
Anyway, they visited the Sky Pavilion and also visited a place called the Infinity Dome.
In there, gravity gets multiplied and the constraints on their bodies are life-threatening.
In short, there was too much to discover in District 57… but who said it was all free? Without enough currency points many could only watch on the sides. And even though Levon and his group felt quite rich at the moment, they dared not spend too much before their mysterious mission begins.
All in all, their time was well spent observing many things in District 57 from the sidelines.
But all that was about to end, since today was the day they've long been waiting for.
