Chapter 1
Chapter 1: Encounter with the Lame Magical Girl - 1
Have you ever done something in life that you regretted?
It doesn’t have to be anything grand.
For example, things like:
Confessing to a friend you liked and getting rejected, skipping a class and getting scolded for it, or having your fully invested stocks crash.
There were probably countless things like that.
Yes, life is riddled with regrets.
Of course, since I’m human too, I had plenty of those regrets. From trivial ones to serious ones, all piled up.
There was one particular regret I had these days. It was so significant that it completely changed the course of my life.
“Noa, calm down, okay?”
“Oppa.”
“Yeah?”
“Just let me have your baby.”
I slowly closed my eyes as I watched the magical girl approaching with a wild gleam in her eyes. How did things end up like this?
Yeah, it must have all started with that event.
If I were to talk about my regret… I should never have played that game. Being possessed by that game was the beginning of everything.
“Heehee… Oppaa…”
As I felt the soft, smothering warmth pressing around me, I began to recall the past.
+++++
I liked happy endings.
The thought of a story I spent time playing ending in horror—those kinds of endings weren’t my preference.
Even if it was a bit cliché, an ending where the protagonist could smile in the end. That was the kind of ending I liked.
That’s probably why I kept playing that game—it was partly out of sheer stubbornness.
Magical Girls Long for Salvation.
As you can guess from the title, it was a game centered around magical girls.
However, the problem was…
‘I’m certain of one thing. This game was created with the devs’ sexual fetishes crammed into it.’
‘From the premise that a magical girl loses her powers when she loses her virginity—it's already dark and twisted.’
‘The protagonist gets violated in every way imaginable.’
‘Tentacles, filthy parties, drugs, and so on.’
‘And to top it off, you have to unlock every bad ending to reach the happy ending. Honestly, it’s a f*cked up game.’
Basically, it was one of those hardcore, violation-themed adult games with extreme difficulty.
[BAD ENDING – A New Mother]
[Clear Condition: Caught in a trap while under status effect “Tentacle Pregnancy” by S-Class villain Kraken.]
“Haah… What the hell…”
I sighed as I stared at the message in the center of the monitor. I’d lost count of how many times this had happened.
How many times I’d watched the magical girl Iris get violated.
–I don’t waaaant thisss… No more tentacles, pleaaase…!!
On the screen, Iris was being horrifically defiled. Surrounded by crawling tentacles all around her.
‘Savages.’
Just how many bad endings involved tentacles? From simple corruption by tentacles… to being brutalized by tentacle villains…
What was even scarier was how many more bad endings with the #Tentacle tag still remained.
And not only that—the game itself still had a long way to go.
According to the wiki and community discussions, there was only one happy ending.
It had practically been confirmed, even by the developers themselves, that you had to collect all the bad endings to see the true ending.
“…Should I just quit?”
At that point, my options narrowed down to two:
1. Curse the game as trash and delete it.
2. Keep smashing my head against it until I reached the happy ending.
It was a real dilemma. I was a college student, after all. It was vacation time, and I needed to work part-time too. Could I really devote all my time to this one game?
Even while struggling with that decision, I kept moving my hands and continued playing the game, adding yet another bad ending to the collection.
Once again, Iris was subjected to a horrible fate. After being drugged, she was tossed into a garbage dump.
A broken expression—neither crying nor laughing—spread across her face. While she sat there blankly, vagrants began to gather around her. What happened next… didn’t need to be said.
As I watched that heavily zoomed-in scene, I made up my mind.
Happy ending.
I would reach the true ending—the happy ending that marked the story’s conclusion. With my own hands.
‘Even the wiki isn’t much help.’
Because of its cruel gameplay, the game wasn’t even that popular. Most of the English wiki was just filled with spoilers about the endings.
[BAD ENDING – Garbage Dump]
[Condition: Attend an upper-class entertainment party while suffering from potion-induced drug addiction.]
I moved the mouse and headed into the next playthrough.
‘I have to keep proper notes. What I’ve done, what I haven’t, which choices I picked.’
I clenched my teeth. The story changed completely depending on the choices I made. I wrote it all down.
If there was no walkthrough, I’d just make one myself.
Of course, there were many times I wanted to give up along the way.
But every time, I reminded myself of the previous bad endings, and I steeled my resolve.
The more time I spent on it, the more painful the bad endings became. That only meant the happy ending would feel even sweeter.
“…Phew…”
And then, once again, a new screen popped up in the center.
[End of Playthrough]
Iris knelt before the Demon King, having been defeated.
Another girl stood watching her. Iris gave a faint smile. She broke off a small piece of the gem containing her power and handed it over.
[Run. I’ll buy you some time.]
Zzzing! Zzzzing!
A magic circle formed in the sky, glowing like starlight.
Iris smiled.
Her expression looked bitter, as if she had accepted her fate. But her eyes—her eyes remained firm.
[I am Iris, a magical girl blessed by the goddess Artemis! By her divine will, I shall stand against the evil that threatens this world!]
She moved forward.
Even with her eyes dull and her legs trembling, the magical girl moved forward.
Even as her arm was sliced off by the Demon King’s sword, even with her ribs broken.
The magical girl pressed forward.
For dreams and for hope.
[BAD ENDING – Hope That Remains]
[Condition: Though defeated in a bloody battle against the Demon King, she transfers part of her power to another girl.]
“…Phew…”
Up to this point, there was nothing unusual. It was the same screen I had seen hundreds of times before.
But then, new text began to appear.
[Congratulations! You have unlocked the full list of bad endings!]
[Completion Rate: 49/49]
[Would you like to enter the Happy Ending route?]
I left the monitor alone for a moment and stretched.
“What the hell was I even doing just because I picked the wrong game…”
Still—
“At least now it’s finally the happy ending.”
I felt energized. I could finally access the happy ending. No doubt the happy ending would be brutally difficult too, but I wasn’t that worried anymore.
A happy ending was a happy ending. Just that fact alone brought me peace of mind.
I straightened my posture and placed my hand on the mouse. Hoping this would be the last journey within the game.
“Let’s do this.”
I had already finished collecting all the bad endings. There was no reason I couldn’t see the happy ending too.
Click.
I activated the happy ending and pressed the button to start the next playthrough.
I felt anticipation building.
How would the happy ending unfold? I slowly closed my eyes in expectation. Hoping, just hoping, that it would be a happy ending for the protagonist.
…And I had no idea that this would become the final journey of my own life.
+++++
‘This can’t be real.’
I moved forward, still unable to believe the reality I was seeing.
A whole week had passed before I even realized it, and I was still dazed.
Possession? As if this were some kind of fantasy world.
But when I looked at the facts unfolding before my eyes—and the headlines on the internet news—I had no choice but to accept it.
[Unknown Magical Girl Appears Again]
[Monster Sightings Increasing—Can the Government Handle It?]
This was real.
Being possessed into an adult game was my reality now.
Anyway.
What was I doing, having been possessed like this?
“…I don’t want to go to work…”
I was heading to my job at a convenience store.
Some might say, what’s the point of getting possessed if all you’re doing is being a store clerk?
But there was nothing I could do about it. What exactly could I do?
It was still a year before the main story began, and I was just a very ordinary, law-abiding citizen with no particular skills.
As long as monsters didn’t suddenly appear and try to kill me, I considered myself lucky.
And even with the world like this, people were still going to work, still trying to earn money.
What choice did I have? If I didn’t want to starve, I had to make a living.
To be honest, I did have some vague hope.
Now that the happy ending route had been unlocked, wouldn’t everything go smoothly from here? That kind of naive expectation.
‘First, I have to actually meet her for anything to happen.’
With no choice but to accept my situation, I glanced around at my surroundings.
What a fine day it was. A spring day far more beautiful and atmospheric than those in the real South Korea.
I was a bit worried, but there still wasn’t much I could do. Rather than stressing over nothing, it was better to calm my heart and stay composed.
The full scent of spring brushed against the tip of my nose. The soft spring breeze fluttered past, and it felt nice.
But on the other hand, it was also a bit chilly. A cold snap in spring, perhaps? The wind started to blow a little more harshly.
The wind grew stronger, and before I knew it, it turned into a sharp, biting gust—
“…Wait a sec.”
What the hell is that.
A monster with a pinwheel for a head. And then—
“I am Iris, the magical girl blessed by the goddess Artemis! By her divine will, I will stand against the evil that threatens this world!”
Iris, the magical girl with pink hair.
‘She really showed up here?’
I had wondered if it might happen. After all, I lived in the very same neighborhood Iris was supposed to live in.
Apparently, since a monster appeared in her hometown, she came in person to handle it.
The murmurs around me grew louder.
“It’s a magical girl!”
“Isn’t she the one from the news lately!?”
“That’s right! She came to save us…!”
Iris stepped forward confidently.
And then—
“Don’t worry! I’ll protect every—”
“KYAAACK!!!”
“HUH-WAAAH!?”
BOOM!
After making a cool entrance, magical girl Iris went flying straight into a wall.
‘I knew she got scatterbrained whenever she transformed, but…’
Seeing it in real life made it feel even more chaotic.
Because the magical girl… was way lamer than I’d imagined.
‘…Is this really going to be okay?’
I was already starting to feel dizzy.
