I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 446: Out and About?

Once night drew near and everyone had fallen asleep, Lillian quietly snuck out of her own tent and looked around.

She checked for anyone near the campfire, then she checked for anyone still lingering outside their tents. And after being sure that they were all asleep, Lillian sighed.

The girl scratched the back of her head as she looked towards the dark sky, which, compared to both her old and current ones, was much more beautiful and starry.

"Lack of pollution, I guess... Or just the wind elements above are clearing things out."

As she muttered this, her hands clutched tightly into fists.

She didn't have that much time left...

Lillian then flashed her hand out and summoned the Beetle, who—upon being summoned—immediately let out a roar before being scolded by Lillian.

"S-shush! P-please be quiet, I don't want to get found out!" Lillian hissed quietly.

The Beetle, hearing her demands, glanced towards the group of tents in the distance before rolling its eyes—deciding to do as she says.

Seeing that it had listened to her, Lillian sighed in relief before summoning another glass shard.

Looking at it carefully, Lillian was once again met with the Jungle Lord's face and its glowing eyes.

Something about its eyes gave her the chills, more so than the Beetle's face.

Throwing it out, Lillian watched as the glass shards shattered in a large, misty cloud of dust before coming together and shaping themselves.

Soon enough, the tall and lanky figure of the Jungle Lord appeared before her—weapon-less.

Lillian looked up and found the Jungle Lord staring down at her intensely, its hollow glowing eyes flickering between white and green in rapid succession.

But then, after a few moments, it lowered itself into a graceful kneel as it held its left hand over its chest like a noble knight.

Seeing this, Lillian couldn't help but turn to the Beetle and gestured dramatically at the Jungle Lord, as though she was silently asking:

Why can't you be like him?!

The Beetle gave her a deadpan look before reeling its head back, gathering its saliva.

Lillian, immediately realising what it was going to do, pointed at it warningly with a look that made it seem she was silently stating:

Don't you dare spit at me again!

As the Jungle Lord watched Lillian's back-and-forth silent banter with the Beetle, it slowly looked around their surroundings—quietly noting they were in its arena—and found something.

Lillian, noticing the Jungle Lord rising to its feet, watched as its figure suddenly blurred and disappeared with a gust of wind before reappearing a split second later near a random wall.

She then watched as it bent over and disappeared once again in a blur.

Lillian flinched, immediately taking a step back as she found the Jungle Lord reappearing in front of her again, this time... With its weapons.

She then settled her gaze on the Jungle Lord's weapons and recalled a key piece of information:

'Unless the items are a key feature of the monster in its past life, the Jester wouldn't transfer it over when they become a Shard...'

Lillian glanced between the two monsters and thought for a bit.

Which of the two should stay back and remain as the guard for the camp?

...

Lillian had chosen the Beetle to act as the guard.

Even though the Jungle was a powerful entity, who knows what the others may react when they see it? Lillian had yet to tell them about it, after all.

Mainly because she forgot.

After she and the Jungle Lord made their way out of the arena, they swiftly left for jungle.

But just before they could entirely leave, Lillian ordered the Jungle Lord to set up a tall wall of vines around the entire perimeter of the arena.

Even though it was certain that no monsters would enter the Heart of the Jungle, she just couldn't risk it.

Lillian watched as the Jungle Lord got to work and couldn't help but sigh and rub the back of her head as she waited.

Although it was going against Viesta's and the others' wishes, she had to venture out in the night—this was to bring out the best possible result.

She needed to get the Captain back to their group quickly.

If the time limit hadn't been around four days, she would've been more than happy to stay back at camp and rest for the night.

She would have stayed up even longer and enjoyed the rest of Emilio's marshmallow if he had allowed it.

However...

Lillian sighed, placing her right hand over the right side of her face:

"Working under a deadline is always such a pain in the butt..."

She didn't quite have that type of luxury yet.

Since waking up, she had been recounting her battle with the Jungle Lord, analysing it as much as she could remember from the battle.

She remembered how much its speed eclipsed hers, and how strong it was despite its frail appearance.

Lillian even had to use artificial means to barely match or counter it to a degree...

'Maybe, I'm pushing myself a bit too much...'

Lowering her hand, Lillian glanced towards her left hand, which was holding a cold, dark lantern—the Depressing Warmth.

With her lantern, she wouldn't be entirely in the dark.

'And that's not all...'

Lillian looked down at the shoulder she was sitting on. Currently, she was using the Jungle Lord as a sort of mount—a substitute for the Beetle since it wasn't here.

After they had finished setting up the barrier of vines around the arena, they immediately set off.

While it was a bit different compared to riding on the Beetle, Lillian got used to sitting on the Jungle Lord's shoulder.

She also couldn't help but compare the two monsters as mounts.

The Beetle had a few abilities that made it exceptionally well-suited for hunting, but when it was inside a jungle, the Jungle Lord might have it beat.

With the Jungle Lord's blessing from the Jungle God, it would be impossible for them to get lost inside the jungle, as well as to get attacked by any of the hostile plant-life.

It also had a powerful Predatory Aura, which acted as a potent repellent for the weaker monsters still awake and lingering around in the jungle.

Because of this, Lillian would have an easy journey throughout the jungle, although...

She was a bit cold.

'I think I prefer the Beetle as a general mount... Its back is a bit more comfortable.'

Lillian soon snapped out of her thoughts as she felt the Jungle Lord suddenly kneel down.

After stabilising herself, she watched as the wendigo dropped its weapon and pinched the stem of a unique-looking flower growing out from the root of the tree.

Once handed the flower, Lillian smiled as she looked down at it.

The flower had a slender, pale-green stem that grew upwards like a spiral and had 6 six petals that had a faint and bioluminescent glow to them.

Starting from the base of the petal, they were of a dark emerald green, which slowly became whiter and glassier the nearer to the tip.

At the centre of the flower, it had fragile gold tendrils made of pollen, which seemed to sway despite the lack of wind around.

It also had long, veined leaves that emitted a faint mist that had a sweet smell, but a metallic smell to it. The veins on it seemed to be glowing the moment it came in contact with the moonlight.

This...

This was one of the reasons she came out at night.
