Chapter 345: Frustrating Notebook?
The two went around, enjoying the sights and everything the city centre had to offer in a matter of hours. And eventually, they soon moved past that and began to journey towards a large Ferris wheel in the distance.
However, every now and then, Lillian felt as though they were being followed. But, seeing that Marionette wasn't bothered or had noticed this feeling, she felt she was being paranoid.
Lillian stared down at the notebook in her hands, her eyes glazing over the details listed for the remainder of the date.
The notes were meticulously crafted as dates were listed right beside each activity. It truly looked more like a timeline and script of their entire day.
'Well... With how closely we're following it, it's not so wrong to think that.'
Lillian looked towards the side and found her beloved girlfriend slotting her phone inside a black phone case.
They had just recently come from a case store because it seemed that NOVA-Line felt they were too good to sell even the most basic of accessories.
"You sure do like the colour black, huh?" Lillian asked, curious.
The entire time they've been together, she hasn't seen the Assassin opt for another colour besides black. Although if she were in the woman's position, she most likely would've too.
Marionette gave Lillian a glance before looking down at the girl's own phone.
A cutesy, pure white phone case with small rabbit ears.
"... I quite like the colour black. It's a plain colour that goes with everything. It's almost like how the colour white goes well with adorable rabbits."
She looked into Lillian's eyes and added, before blinking teasingly:
"Don't you think?"
Lillian blinked back before slowly turning her face away with a crooked smile. As well as hiding the faintest blush on her cheeks, which Marionette easily found out.
Soon enough, they arrived, but were immediately met with a massive line of people.
As Lillian looked up towards the sky and found it turning an amber-ish colour, she couldn't help but notice how quickly time flew.
Which... Was what she wanted to believe.
Looking at the line and finding that they were still so far from the front, she couldn't help but let out an audible groan, which was immediately picked up by the woman beside her.
"Don't worry, Lillian. Not long left." Marionette stated in an expressionless tone.
Lillian sighed.
"Yeah, I know but—" As Lillian was about to finish, she took a random glance towards Assassin's foot, finding it tapping the ground at a rapid and impatient rate.
The corners of her lips then curled up as she gave the Assassin a teasing stare, which raised an eyebrow.
It seemed that under all of Marionette's stoic mask, even she couldn't help but feel impatient.
Soon enough, they arrived in one of the carts. However, by now, the sky had already turned a bit dark.
Marionette looked out of the glass pane and towards the sky that had now begun to reveal the stars under its daylight curtains.
Their eyes widened and glowed as she scrutinised each and every star, finding herself feeling much calmer and relaxed.
In the past, whenever she was on duty, she would always look forward to looking towards the stars. It would be the only moment in her life that would bring her security and a sense of beauty in the world.
And, it was more special this time due to the fact that this was her first ever time experiencing what it was like to be riding inside a Ferris wheel.
With the person she loved no less.
"So, that's what we'll be doing next?"
Looking across from her, she frowned as she saw Lillian reading out of her notebook out loud.
She clicked her tongue.
"Tsk..."
Lillian was intently reading the notebook instead of enjoying the view. She then pulled out her phone and checked the time.
[18:36]
'Not long left...'
Then, after a split second, she suddenly flinched at the sound of—
SHATTER!
—A window shattering.
She shivered as cold air suddenly flooded inside the cart through what she found to be a shattered glass pane right beside the Assassin.
Her face then shifted to a concerned expression. Just as she was about to ask the woman what was wrong, the notebook in her hand was suddenly snatched.
"E-eh?"
Lillian held her hands up, watching as Marionette's glare shifted between her and the notebook.
She then watched as the Assassin chucked the notebook out of the window without a hint of attachment to it.
Lillian widened her eyes and instinctively stood up to try to catch it somehow. However, she was immediately pushed back and pinned against her seat.
Lillian asked, in a struggling voice:
"W-what are you—"
But she was immediately interrupted.
"This is my day, aren't you aware?" Marionette asked, rhetorically.
Pinning Lillian's arms against the back of the girl's seat, she slid forward and raised her right knee, pressing it against the Rabbit's crotch.
Lillian flinched, feeling her heart racing the more Marionette closed in on her.
She gulped.
"H-hey... I don't think this is the place for—"
"I feel as though you paid more attention to that notebook, instead of me, today."
Marionette's eyes glowed slightly, zooming in on Lillian's face, which froze at her words.
The girl looked at the woman with a sense of shock.
"H-huh? Says who?"
"Says me. We haven't even kissed once today due to your constant attention on what was written inside that book." Marionette stated in a frustrated tone.
Lillian stiffened as she heard this. And with a guilt-filled look in her eyes, she turned her face to the side and muttered quietly:
"I-I just..." Before falling silent.
The girl had been trying to go along with the plan written out inside the notebook to the letter because she thought that would be what the Assassin wanted—what they considered to be a perfect date.
Marionette, seeing Lillian go quiet, sighed. She then shifted her position, moved her legs aside, and straddled the girl's lap.
Lillian, flabbergasted by the turn of events, felt the sides of her head gently held in the woman's hands.
Looking up, she found Marionette staring down at her with an intimate look in her beautiful red eyes...
