Chapter 52: "Desert King" Crocodile

Facing Rodney's question, Robin expressed her reluctance to answer. She always felt that the person in front of her was deceptive.

After wandering around for many years, she felt like she could see through people.

"You're joking, I'm treated pretty well here." 

There was a forced smile on Rodney's face, and Robin couldn't find anything genuine about it.

"Oh? Really? Will "Desert King" Crocodile spare you after he gets the historical text? Don't be naive; once he knows what he wants, he will never let you go." 

"So, you know..."

Robin's expression turned serious. Of course, she knew the cold and ruthless nature of Crocodile, but from the beginning, she never planned to reveal the real content of the historical text to him. 

Crocodile was the true leader of Baroque Works, and apart from him, not even the senior agents knew about this matter. How could this person know?

"Hehe, I have a special source of information." Rodney squinted his eyes, making Robin want to punch him a few times.

But Rodney was right about one thing: seeking skin from a tiger will not end well. Crocodile, the "Desert King", is more terrifying than any man-eating one. He knows how to lie in wait, look for opportunities, and strike with deadly precision.

Robin stood behind Crocodile, and Crocodile didn't mind. He continued, "If what you said is true, then Rodney, I think we can cooperate."

Rodney opened his eyes, Crocodile looked into those blood-red eyes for the first time - they were evil, bloody, and ominous, given by Sharingan, with an evil nature.

"Hehe, Baroque Works? That's just a joke. As for Mr. 1, he does have some skills, but unfortunately, he's no match for me. Besides you, the entire Baroque Works is no match for me. Tell me, why should I join you?"

"To control the world!" 

He spread his arms, his face frenzied, and said, "I won't hide it from you. I came to this country for the ancient weapon, Pluton. If I get information about Pluton, and if I find it, I can use its power to become the Pirate King and rule this world!" 

He didn't mind telling Rodney; regardless of whether Rodney knew the location of the Poneglyph, Rodney's abilities were enough for him to value. If he doesn't agree, he's going to kill him today!

With the power of a devil fruit, he felt invincible, and no one could hurt him. Hmph, the last person who thought they were invincible eventually stopped thinking.

Crocodile stretched out his hand to Rodney and said, "Come on, Rodney, work for me."

He wasn't afraid of Rodney leaking information; if he didn't agree, this guy would die.

Rodney smiled and reached out his hand. Robin looked on contemptuously, and Crocodile smiled. It seems that this guy isn't that difficult to deal with.

Unfortunately, Crocodile's hand didn't grasp Rodney's; instead, he formed various hand seals with his fingers and said in a low voice, "Water Release: Water Colliding Wave!" 

"What?" 

A large amount of water materialized out of thin air.

Crocodile's sand body was immediately disrupted, and he couldn't materialize anymore, revealing his true form. How was that possible? What kind of ability did this man have?

With a sharp look in his eyes, Crocodile's left hook slashed toward Rodney's throat, launching a fast and ruthless attack without any hesitation.

Using Kashu as a shield, Rodney blocked Crocodile's hook. 

Seeing that the attack was futile, Crocodile broke free from Rodney's grip, opened the door, and ran outside. Rodney chased after him. Robin looked at the water under her feet and fell into thought.

It's obviously water, so why didn't she lose her abilities?

Could it be that his water-based abilities only paralyze those with Devil Fruit powers?

Robin hadn't told Crocodile about Rodney's abilities, so he was fooled.

"Hahaha, "Deser King" Crocodile, don't even think about escaping."

The sand sliced through the mud flow wall like a butter. Rodney quickly dodged, and a deep crevice was left where he had been standing moments before. The cut was neat and smooth, not something caused by sand at all.

"Water Release: Water Colliding Wave!"

The Water Release ninjutsu, costing a thousand points to exchange, allowed Rodney to generate water on the ground using his powerful chakra.

The gamblers who were playing games were washed away by the sudden flood. The lucky ones were washed out, while the unfortunate ones were washed into the rivers on both sides. Huge Banana Gators inhabited those rivers.

Robin had a rare experience of swimming. She had eaten a Devil Fruit as a child, which prevented her from learning to swim. The Sea Curse affected her ability, but she could still use her Devil Fruit powers.
