I will be a demon in this life!

Chapter 128

The demonic vehicles arrived at the entrance to the Academy grounds.

Selef, who was walking beside Isirid, sensed the power of Director Persec's presence, but he was not intimidated. He turned around in the direction of the building where Persec was in his study.

Selef bowed slightly in respect, then walked toward the demonic vehicles with Isirid at his side, followed by Deria and Leyla.

"My grandfather must be angry. He must have found out," said Isirid in a calm tone, trying to hide her nervousness.

"Don't worry, I'll go with you to talk to him when we get back. We'll be family, he'll have to get used to it," said Selef, taking Isirid's hand as they got into the demonic vehicle.

Isirid smiled subtly and sweetly, as Selef's mere presence made her feel safe, but his words encouraged her deeply.

••••

Professor Orcelt Demid boarded the demonic vehicle that Selef and his group had boarded, dressed in an elegant tailor-made black and white suit, with two rings on each hand in which he stored his sabers, ready to act as soon as danger arose.

"So Persec considers Professor Orcelt to be the strongest of the Danteriar Academy's professors who teach S-class students," concluded Selef as he watched Professor Orcelt greet some students and then sit down in a chair in a corner of the vehicle.

Selef and his group sat down at some seats in front of a table, just as he had done the first time he traveled to Marrac Mountain with Selis and Asfil.

"System, in the event of any deadly attack that I cannot detect, activate the most appropriate capital trait," said Selef, who did not want to leave anything to chance, as he knew from past experience that the enemy should not be underestimated.

The students from the different classes boarded the different vehicles, and a few minutes later, the demonic vehicles began to move toward Marrac Mountain.

••••

"Have you already decided that we're going hunting?" asked Derio.

Selef shook his head, then replied:

"We planned to decide as we go along."

"How about hunting a troll? With Leyla's night vision, she can help us locate one. They're pretty strong, but I think the four of us can defeat one without any trouble."

Selef looked at Leyla, and she nodded shyly when she felt his gaze.

"What do you think?" Selef asked Isirid.

"I think we can try, but if we find another rank 5 monster along the way, or two rank 4 monsters, that will be enough for us to pass." Isirid replied in a firm tone, as the situation warranted.

"Then it's decided," Selef concluded with determination and enthusiasm.

Isirid, Leyla, and Derio nodded immediately. The group had quickly managed to plan the strategy they would use once they entered Marrac Mountain.

••••

An hour and a few minutes had passed when the demonic vehicle passed near a small demonic town.

[Demon God Energy Detected (01)]

Selef quickly realized that the conspiring demons were monitoring the movement of the demonic vehicles....

Some time later, when they passed near an area dedicated to the cultivation of edible demonic plants, Selef received another notification from the system.

[Demon God Energy Detected]

"It seems that there are more conspirators this time, and I no longer believe that they are just monitoring the movement of the vehicles. But if we stop now, it will be very difficult for me to accompany Isirid to Mount Marrac next time. Furthermore, it is now more than clear that they are seeking to block any means by which the students sent to Mount Marrac can receive support, and if we stop now, we will only provoke a senseless war in which we will gain nothing. The important thing is to ensure that Isirid fulfills the requirements to graduate and returns safely. In the future, we must definitely exterminate these conspirators," Selef concluded in his mind as he looked out the window.

••••

Just as some humans considered demons to be monsters or evil beings, there were demons who considered humans to be monsters or evil beings.

Two hours and a few minutes after noon, in the demonic territory, a barony and a viscountcy located near the borders between the Republic of Argariz and the Venrac Empire began to contain the attack on their respective cities by humans who carried out a powerful surprise attack.

Although both territories attempted to communicate with neighboring noble territories, their demonic crystals failed to contact the territories, as the conspiring demons had placed barriers to obstruct any type of communication. They also killed all the messengers sent by the demonic barony and viscountcy.

••••

The Barony was attacked by two groups, one of which was mercenaries led by Edward Liken, who simply watched the skirmishes with satisfaction from the rear.

"We'll get a lot of slaves tonight, maybe I'll fuck some of them," Liken muttered, and the mercenaries beside him laughed after hearing him.

The other group that attacked the demonic barony was led by Baron Sed, who instructed his subordinates to kill without hesitation any demon that tried to escape.

••••

The demonic viscountcy, which had military power stronger than that of the barony and some strong warriors, faced the powerful forces led by General Alphens Fitchner and Count Morgan Whithe.

Of the two surprise attacks on the demon cities, the only member of the Military Council who participated in battle was Count Morgan, whose participation was devastating against the demons, among whom there was not a single one who did not end up cut down and annihilated when facing the human count.

••••

In the cities of the demon barony and viscountcy, ordinary demon women and young children were frightened, knowing from stories of the past that if they lost, the outcome would be disastrous. Humans were merciless to the weak and fearful of the strong. For that reason, in both the barony and the viscountcy, all male demons of weapon-bearing age, with or without demonic energy, went out to defend their cities.
