Chapter 3_ Embracing the Joy of Effort
It’s all just a dream, anyhow.
Might as well go all in.
With that notion in mind, I swung my sword, and before I knew it, night had fallen, followed swiftly by dawn.
This body is quite something.
It moves just the way I intend.
And that’s immensely exhilarating.
Unlike my previous form, it’s not a vessel that thwarts my desires.
Brimming with innate talent and extraordinary physical prowess, it effortlessly absorbed my instructor’s guidance.
Every concept I conjured translated seamlessly into action.
… It’s truly invigorating!
The effort used to be an ordeal.
Seeing minimal progress was discouraging.
Still, I’d relentlessly wield my sword for thirteen hours each day, relying solely on my mental stamina.
But this body is different.
It grows exponentially, keeping pace with my exertions.
So, I found myself immersed in swinging the sword with unbridled enthusiasm.
“Wait… how long have I been practicing?” I murmured, suddenly realizing the depth of my commitment.
Sensing my overexertion, the butler approached and revealed a staggering truth.
“Master Benno, you’ve been training for twenty-five hours straight.”
“What…!? Seriously? I can’t recall practicing for that long.”
I couldn’t help but react with astonishment to the butler’s words.
His intense gaze bore into me, and as he stepped forward, he spoke resolutely.
“Master Benno, you’re a prodigy—perhaps the greatest one.”
“Um… yeah…”
I wasn’t entirely sure how to respond to such a proclamation.
True, this body might possess prodigious abilities.
But it’s all just a dream, and I’ll surely awaken soon.
With doubts about reality, a slight dejection seeped in.
Sigh… I’d rather not return to the real world.
Living in this dream forever would suit me just fine.
On the second day of my reincarnation, I embarked on a new life in this alternate world.
Three days had elapsed since the dream’s inception.
Still engrossed in it, I tilted my head in disbelief, hiding the elation that surged within me.
After all, training with this body felt incredible.
There’s no other word for it but “amazing.”
Oh, the sheer ecstasy!
Since then, I’d undergone numerous training sessions, each absorbed by this exceptional body, longing for more.
I had to temper myself to avoid straining my body, though.
But if it were up to me, I’d train non-stop for a week.
Over these three days, I’ve learned many things.
This mansion belongs to the Archbaltz Duke’s family, a household of considerable influence in the country.
However, due to my excessive freedom, I’ve been relegated to the outskirts.
Even though they’ve granted me freedom, I’m only about eight years old.
I might consider their approach a bit severe… but then again, it’s probably standard for nobles.
And though they said I was being sent away, the estate was still overwhelmingly spacious.
It’s not so much about where I’m living; it’s more about containing any potential nuisances.
If a more talented sibling were born, I’d undoubtedly be deemed expendable.
Not that I’m particularly keen on inheriting any titles.
What I’m truly interested in is pushing this body to its limits and seeing how far it can go.
For that reason, I need to ensure I have my basic necessities.
But, well, since this is all just a dream, I don’t need to take it that seriously.
But I did hear that once I turn ten, I’ll start attending school.
Having spent my previous life in monotonous routines, the concept of going to school intrigues me.
It’s also motivated by a desire to recapture lost youth.
Though I hope this dream can last a bit longer—just two more years.
After all, remaining in a dream for two whole years seems unlikely.
At that moment, that’s what I believed—though…
In the blink of an eye, a year had passed.
Finally, I began to recognize that this might not be a dream.
It seems this is genuinely a reincarnation.
With this understanding, I intensified my daily sword training.
If this is truly a reincarnation, I must give it my all.
Though even if it weren’t, I’d likely still be undergoing intensive training.
And I still haven’t met my parents.
It appears my worries were warranted; they still harbor resentment toward me.
While pondering what to do, Butler Baran suddenly delivered unexpected news.
“Master Benno, it seems you will soon have a sibling. You’ve been invited to the main residence tomorrow.”
… Seriously?
Isn’t this happening rather abruptly?
“Is it… a younger sibling?”
“I’m afraid the gender hasn’t been determined yet.”
It appears they haven’t ascertained the sibling’s gender yet.
If it’s a younger brother, I’ll undoubtedly be cast aside without much thought.
I can only hope it’s a younger sister.
With that wish in my heart, I continued to swing my sword with unwavering determination.
