I was Thrown into an Unfamiliar Manga

chapter 95 - Exorcism (Physical)

Crack!

The white mask struck by my orange-tinged fist flew limply down the hallway.
Unlike what I had worried about earlier, even a ghost with no physical form could be hit properly using qi.
“Ki-Kim-kun?”

Mizuki-sensei called out to me in a shocked voice from behind.
“Please stay inside, Sensei. I’ll take care of that thing.”
Saying that, I slowly walked toward the white mask that had fallen to the floor.

“Kruk, kukkekkukkekkkekkkuk!”
As I approached, the white mask on the ground made strange, garbled noises and floated up into the air again.
It looked like the hit had landed—there was a slight crack forming at the edge of the mask.

Rather than charging at it again, I observed how it would react.
“Kurururuk—”
Then, like phlegm bubbling up, a sound gurgled from behind the white mask, and the darkness in the hallway began to congeal.

If I were to compare it to manga, it felt like a first-stage transformation where the monster reveals its true form.
But I had no intention of patiently waiting for the transformation to finish.
“Hup!”

I kicked off hard from the floor and lunged at the mask mid-transformation.
Dark tendrils shot out from behind the mask like arrows.
But I didn’t block them.

I didn’t ‘need’ to.
The black tendrils extending from the mask bounced harmlessly off the yang energy enveloping my skin.
“Krrrk?!”
The trait of my qi, which I learned about through the Hunwon Mirror, was Indestructibility—meaning it doesn’t get wounded by most attacks.

It was simple, but for someone like me who specialized in close combat, it was a perfect fit.
I grabbed one of the repelled tendrils and yanked it toward me.
The mask, still in the middle of transforming, was dragged along like a sack of junk.

With my free hand, I seized the mask.
It began thrashing with all its might to escape from my grip.
But the more it struggled, the tighter I squeezed.

The crack that formed earlier widened under the pressure.
“Die.”
Maybe sensing danger for the first time, the creature—who’d only been shrieking up to now—spoke actual words and emitted a blinding flash of light.

I shut my eyes momentarily, but didn’t let go. Instead, I clenched my right hand even harder to crush the mask.
Crunch!
But just before it shattered, something else grabbed my arm.

I opened my eyes in a hurry—and saw strong limbs sprouting from beneath the mask clutching my wrist.
Krrrk!
A black hand pressed down on the qi surrounding my wrist.

There was a way to endure this, but there was no need to gamble.
So I used another option: my head.
Smack!!

“Kiiieeeeeeeek!!”
Sure enough, the mask was the weak point. Cracking further upon impact with my forehead, the creature screamed and recoiled, clutching its head.
Only then could I get a full look at it.

Its towering height nearly reached the ceiling, but its back was hunched.
It had overly developed arms like a gorilla and reverse-jointed legs.
Underneath the mask that seemed to be the core, I saw a black mouth and rows of white teeth.

Just looking at it, I could tell it was dangerous.
I didn’t know why a thing like this was inside a school, but either way—I had no intention of letting it go.
That thing had clearly crossed the line.

“Don’t even think about running.”
I raised both arms at an angle and took a fighting stance.
It was the preparatory motion for , the martial art Ivan—Sasha’s father—once used.

I’d never learned it properly, so it was just an imitation, but still—fighting like this would be more effective than flailing around.
As I readied myself, it too lowered its stance slightly.
And then—

We charged at each other simultaneously from a distance of about 5 meters.
To summon courage, I drew a powerful shout from deep in my lungs.
“UOOOOOOOO!!”

Collision, right in the middle of the hallway.
BOOOOOM!!
The shockwave shattered the windows of the surrounding classrooms all at once.

“Ugh!”
It felt like I’d run into a dump truck.
But I wasn’t the only one taking the hit—the creature staggered slightly too.

From that point, it turned into a brutal melee at close range.
Its massive fists pummeled my body relentlessly.
In return, I also struck its enormous body without holding back, even in a no-guard stance.

Each time my yang-infused fists connected, white smoke erupted from its body, and it let out anguished groans.
Its punches, too, were heavy—but they couldn’t pierce the veil of qi surrounding me.
I guessed it wasn’t just because of my qi’s Indestructibility, but also because yang and yin were natural opposites.

I ducked under a swing and buried my fist in its solar plexus.
But maybe due to its non-human anatomy, the thing countered by kicking me straight in the crotch.
‘This bastard—’

I instinctively blocked with my leg, but it still pissed me off.
With even more yang surging from my body, I wrapped both arms around its massive frame.
And lifted it off the ground with raw strength.

A classic bear hug.
“GRAAAAAAAAAAH!”
It thrashed violently, striking me from above with its free hands, but it wasn’t enough to stop me.

This thing and I had different battle experience.
While it had likely bullied humans around the school, I had fought dozens of people—and even a black bear.
Compared to that, this bloated ghost was nothing.

I squeezed its waist hard and then slammed it to the floor.
Despite its huge body, it didn’t seem to have actual mass—there wasn’t even a scratch on the hallway.
I climbed onto its body.

Being in the mount position felt stable, just like always.
Once you locked it in, the opponent couldn’t resist.
Realizing the danger too late, it began writhing to escape, but with my weight on its torso, resistance was meaningless.

I smashed my fists together above its head.
Bam!!
My qi rippled like the flames of the sun.

I pulled my right arm back over my shoulder and said:
“Do you know why you’re getting your ass beat right now?”
The white mask shook its head in fear.

So I kindly explained it.
“First, you ignored my warning.”
“Second, you °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° mocked my family.”

And third—
“You made me angry.”
As soon as I finished, I slammed my orange-glowing fist straight down.

***
About a minute later, the white mask believed to be the ghost’s core shattered into pieces.
With each unrelenting punch, the cracks had spread—and with my final blow, it let out a dying scream and turned to smoke.

I think it was forced into passing on.
Panting, I stood up.
The hallway bore the signs of a fierce battle.

As I stood there, not sure how to clean this up, a familiar voice called out from down the corridor.
“Kim Yu-seong!”
Running toward me in a panic were Fuma-senpai and members of the Fuma Ninja Corps I’d seen back at the maid café.

Apparently called in by Fuma-senpai, Hyoneko froze at the sight of the hallway and whispered:
“What the hell… this spiritual energy is insane.”
Fuma-senpai answered with a solemn face.

“Probably the same type as the yokai that cast a barrier outside the school.”
Yokai? Is that different from a ghost?
As I stood awkwardly listening, Mizuki-sensei peeked her head out from the night duty room.

“K-Kim-kun? Is it over?”
“Ah, yes. You can come out now, Sensei.”
Still clutching the phone playing hymns, she cautiously stepped out.

When she saw the ninja-costumed Fuma Corps behind Fuma-senpai, her face filled with suspicion.
“Who are these people?”
Fuma-senpai responded.

“They’re my relatives. I came alone at first, but once I realized there was a powerful yokai in the school, I called for backup.”
Then Hyoneko asked,
“So, where’s the yokai in question? The barrier was so strong we only just broke through.”

I turned my gaze away without thinking.
“Uh… I already got it.”
The Fuma Corps all jumped in surprise.

“What?! How?! You didn’t even have any exorcism tools, right?”
Fuma-senpai murmured knowingly.
“As I thought… you really did it.”

“Yes.”
As the two of us exchanged words only we understood, the others behind us asked for an explanation.
Then Fuma-senpai turned around and said:

“This guy… he’s the Golden Yasha.”
The Fuma Corps all nodded in immediate understanding.
“No way—is he the one who took down Ivan?”

“If that’s true… then yeah, respect.”
…Feels like I accidentally became a legend among the underground crowd without realizing it.
