Chapter 11: Against the Soulless [3]
The three of us hastened our pace and nearly reached the end of the dungeon..
"A bone dragon!?", I shouted in surprise.
"W-what is that thing!?", Tesha shouted.
"A-Angel, you can do this right?", Luna asked.
The bone dragon roared loudly, activating the dragon's inherent ability "Fear". Both Tesha and Luna were stunned by the debuff except for me due to my clan's passive "Serpent's Purification", a passive which deflects back the debuff casted to the user.
"Stupid dragon, take this!", I shouted.
I launched an attack at the bone dragon's torso but repelled back by a barrier protecting it.
"What? Wait, both of you, COVER!", I shouted to the both of them before hiding behind a rock.
Upon hearing this, they both immediately hid behind large rocks before the bone dragon unleashed a devastating breath filled with necrotic energy.
"Fury of the great Vritra!", I activated my skill.
The dark astral energy shrouded my body once again and enhanced my physical abilities. With great speed, I ran to the bone dragon's back and severed the connection.
"It's done...", I panted as the dark energy disappeared from my body.
"Sir Angel, drink this, it's a health potion.", Tesha came.
Tesha handed to me a medium sized health potion. After drinking, I sat down first to let the regeneration take its effect.
I've only risen my internal energy's power and capacity but haven't given thought about my body. The body's requirements for enhancement or evolution is a long journey to take so I took the glass-sword build but I was too over confident and underestimated this new world.
After the short rest, we continued until we reached the end of the dungeon where we met necromancer inside it's laboratory. The laboratory was filled with corpses inside a glass tube with unknown fluids injected inside.
"To think you lot managed to make your way in, I'm impressed.", the necromancer smiled eerily.
"There's no way out, and I'll punish you for every single sin you've done here.", I said angrily at him.
My blood boiling with rage as I saw the horrendous experiments being dealt with the corpses.
"Surprising, to think I'd see the famed war race, Asura. Judging from the feats you showed earlier, you must be from one of the ancient clans."
"What?", surprised from what he said.
"Let me introduce myself, my name is Jean De Valerius. A proud necromancer of the Ossuary."
Impossible... It can't be...
Still...
"VAJRA STRIKE!", I clenced my fist launched a powerful strike imbued with astral energy directed to him.
"Angel, be careful!", both Tesha and Luna said worried.
"It's futile, Bone Cage!", he covered himself in bones.
The bone cage successfully blocked Angel's vajra strike.
"Answer me, how many are you here?", I asked from the other side of the bone cage.
"You talk too much, Reanimate.", Jean muttered to himself.
The corpses inside the glass tube started to mutate into a powerful undead being. They broke out from the confinement and started attacking both Tesha and Luna from all directions.
"Tch! Tesha! Luna!", I screamed.
"That's rude, to look away from your opponent... That not something an asura would do. Death's Touch.", he said.
A lightning strike of necrotic energy was launched at Angel.
"This is what I like, to see my opponents in despair.", he said as he smiled eerily.
The attack made contact with Angel, it severely damaged his arm as he tried to block it.
It hurts...! I need to get those two out first!
"Phantasmal Assault!"
Multiple illusory copies emerged from Angel's body and started to attack Jean to get his attention away.
"Celestial Leap"
Angel quickly teleported to Luna and Tesha and immediately took them to the first floor of the dungeon.
"Sir Angel, don't! That necromancer is too powerful!"
I turned my back against them
"I'll come back."
Without seconds to waste, Angel returned to the necromancer. The illusory copies were already brought down by the necromancer.
"Now that both of them are safe, clench your damn teeth."
