I Transmigrated Into the Game as the Luckiest Extra

Chapter 69: Exam 2

An hour had passed since we arrived on the island. I returned to my camping spot near a river, with a mountain rising behind it. The ancient sages would have called it: back to the mountain, face to the water.

With my system displaying drone footage and knowledge of the island's layout, I was stacked with cheats.

On my way back, I ran into a monster.

The glass lizard shimmered under faint light, its scales reflecting like broken shards of a mirror. Its long body glistened with eerie beauty, but its head split down the middle with jagged teeth was unsettling enough to make anyone flinch.

"Creepy thing…" I muttered.

Glass lizards were supposed to be rank F. This one didn't look any stronger, but appearances could be deceiving.

I gathered mana into my palm, letting the heat swirl until it sparked red. Fire was the quickest way. Glass creatures hated high temperatures.

The lizard darted forward, fast enough to blur. I slammed my hand down, releasing a wave of fire across the ground.

It screeched as the flames caught its tail, forcing it to writhe and stumble. Off-balance, it flailed helplessly. I didn't wait. Snapping my fingers, I formed three burning spheres in the air and sent them crashing down on its head. The last one cracked its glassy skull, shattering it like brittle ice.

"Too easy."

After confirming its death, I let my mana fade and pressed my wristband against the remains. The device chimed once, logging the kill. With that done, I moved on.

Soon, the trees parted to reveal a wide river glistening under the sunlight. Its waters flowed from the north, splitting into winding channels before vanishing into the forest. Though not the main stream, it was steady enough for drinking and cleaning. Behind the river rose a jagged ridge of stone, its peak veiled in greenery. Between the running water and the mountain's shelter, it was the perfect campsite.

I took out my tent a small disk and infused it with codex magic power. It unfolded and expanded into a full-sized tent.

"Wow."

Inside it, it felt cozier than I expected: a bed, a small table, and just enough room to stretch out. I decided to rest.

"Yaaawn."

I collapsed onto the bed.

---

"Argh, where am I?"

Selene Whitmore trudged through the woods. During this time, she had used her new skill and a dagger to hunt monsters, likely placing herself near the top of the leaderboard.

"There's no end…"

She pushed through vines and tall grass but found no water, no food. She hadn't even run into another cadet. Exhaustion gnawed at her.

When she was about to collapse, a faint light appeared in the distance. It looked like a campfire.

"Oooh!"

Her legs carried her toward the glow. A spicy fragrance wafted in the air, teasing her hunger. She escaped the suffocating grass and burst into a clearing—

"Eh?"

Kael Vi-rel sat there, casually munching on a piece of meat.

"…What?"

He tilted his head at her. Selene swallowed hard.

She scanned the scene. Behind him stood a massive, cozy tent. The light wasn't from a campfire but a portable grill. He had a table, a chair, a frying pan, and even packaged meat.

"W-What the heck, where did you get all this?"

"I prepared for the exam. Unlike someone."

"What? How did you know to prepare all this?"

Kael tapped his head with a smirk.

"I'm pretty damn smart."

"…Yeah, good for you," Selene muttered sarcastically. Her eyes lingered on the food. She was starving.

Kael studied her. She could try killing him and taking everything, but before she made a move, he spoke first.

"You hungry?"

"…"

Selene hesitated, then nodded.

Kael crossed his arms, thinking, while she held her breath.

"How many points do you have?"

She exhaled in relief. She'd killed eight monsters and had 36 points.

"Thirt… six."

"Then give me 12."

"12?"

"Say no if you don't want to."

"N-No! I mean yes! I… I want to."

Selene quickly opened her smartwatch. It linked with Kael's device.

[Kael Vi-rel]

—Point trading

—Location sharing

She tapped on point trading and sent him 12 points. Afterward, she sat down nervously. Kael handed her a plate with pork chops.

"Are you okay with just this? It's only meat."

"…I'll have to eat to live."

Dungeon food. Tower food. Adventurers lived like this. But to her surprise, it tasted good maybe because she was starving.

For 15 minutes, they ate in silence.

"Ah, now I'm full."

Selene rubbed her stomach. The awkwardness returned, and she thought about slipping away—

"Here."

Kael tossed her a blanket.

"You can go and sleep."

"Eh?"

---

Morning arrived. Birds chirped while monsters howled from deep in the forest. I woke to the noise and climbed out of bed, body a little stiff but refreshed. For this island, it was luxury.

"Auuu."

Tong!

The egg on the table bounced suddenly. It had finished absorbing the blood pack and quivered.

"…I really am lucky to have you."

I stroked the egg gently, wrapping it in fresh bloody gauze before packing up the tent. Time to move.

Now that cadets could fight each other, I planned to confront some dangerous individuals. Of course, I couldn't kill them. Some didn't even realize they were pawns of the Bloody Banquet.

---

Elsewhere, Silva had formed a group of five. Using their strengths, he led them efficiently, racking up points.

"Silva, I found someone."

Nad whispered, preparing to drop a rock on the target.

"Eh?"

Before she could act, Silva stopped her.

"Don't."

He glared.

"You can't touch Kael."

"Eh? I-Isn't he rank 500?"

"No. You can't win against Kael Vi-rel."

Nad froze.

Before she could argue, Kael made his move. As if sensing their intent, he suddenly teleported appearing at the peak of a giant tree in an instant.

Silva's voice was sharp.

"See that? I just saved your life. Otherwise, he would've beaten you down right here. You know both of you don't get along."

"…Ah."

Nad's face paled.
