I Suddenly Became Rich, But I Have No Idea How to Spend the Money

Chapter 46

Leaving the Punto Banco table, I wandered through the casino.

“Come to think of it, I’ve seen this casino so many times in the 00 series.”

Wearing a Brioni bespoke suit, John Lobb shoes, and a Rolex watch.

Well, the original character’s watch was a Submariner, and the current films use an Omega, so it’s a little different.

Even so, I feel like I’ve stepped into a movie.

I’ve come to love everything about this place—the magnificent architecture, the efforts taken to maintain it, and the dazzling allure that fuels dreams for its guests.

Feeling a bit hungry, I head to Le Train Bleu, a restaurant inside the Casino de Monte-Carlo, for dinner.

Le Train Bleu is designed to evoke the atmosphere of the Orient Express, and its Belle Époque interior blends seamlessly with the grandeur of the casino.

After finishing my meal, I ask the staff for restaurant recommendations and decide to visit one of their suggestions tomorrow before leaving the restaurant.

Back in my room at the Hôtel de Paris, I send my suit to the hotel’s cleaning service and my shoes to the shoe care service.

After taking a long, relaxing shower, I slip into the plush bathrobe provided by the hotel and drift off into the supreme comfort of the luxurious bed, fully satisfied.

I make a mental note to replace my bed back home in Osaka.

The next morning, I wake up at a leisurely pace and take a hot shower to get my body moving.

In France, breakfast is typically light. Monaco is no exception, and most hotel breakfasts are not particularly extravagant.

However, luxury hotels are a different story.

With guests arriving from all over the world, the breakfast offerings are quite substantial.

I indulge in a lavish morning meal before beginning my day.

I treat my body to some care at the hotel spa, followed by a swim in the pool.

After working up a light sweat, I take a break at the adjoining poolside bar.

It may sound like a humblebrag, but my body is quite toned—not an over-the-top muscle-bound physique, but well-defined.

Ever since Hitomi pointed out that my body had started to soften due to increased car travel and less physical activity, I’ve made an effort to visit the gym whenever I have free time.

To stay motivated at the gym, I decided to take up a sport and resumed playing golf, which I had practiced until the sixth grade.

I always keep my golf bag and golf shoes in the trunk of my Lexus so I can play anytime.

It seems that a tall, fit Asian man with black hair sitting alone at a poolside bar tends to attract attention.

I was approached by several stunning women—some blonde and goddess-like, others red-haired with a lively charm—but to be honest, I’m not the type to handle such situations with unwavering confidence.

I kept the conversations light, enjoying the atmosphere, and I think that was a wise decision.

The bartender chuckled and said it was a shame to turn down such invitations.

I jokingly replied, “I’m not great with overly assertive women.”

By the time I realized it, it was almost noon. I left the pool, took a shower, and changed into my outfit for exploring the town.

To suit the ambiance of Monaco, I donned a refined linen summer jacket from Tagliatore and put on Oliver Peoples sunglasses.

I handed the key to my Ferrari 488 Pista to the doorman and retrieved my car.

My destination: Hermès.

I needed to buy a new wallet and bag.

Yesterday at the casino, I realized that while my Portefeuille Brazza is a great everyday wallet, it’s a bit too large for formal attire like a tuxedo or suit.

The bulge it creates disrupts the silhouette.

It fits in the inner pocket, but it makes the chest protrude too much. Holding it in my hand also feels somewhat awkward.

Yesterday, I placed it in my clutch bag, but something about it still felt off.

That’s why I came here to get a wallet specifically for suits.

Of course, I chose the Béarn.

Its slim design makes it easy to carry.

The classic Hermès aesthetic also pairs well with my key case, which I wanted to match.

A bit nervous about whether they’d have it in stock, I entered the store and browsed the Béarn wallets.

When I asked a staff member for assistance, they surprised me by bringing out a special limited-edition Béarn.

It was in a stunning shade of sax blue.

The moment I saw it, I thought, “This color is so Monaco.” I was instantly smitten and purchased it on the spot.

Next, I browsed the bags, but they only had small Birkin bags.

I asked the same staff member if they had a larger Birkin, and they revealed that a newly arrived one in étoupe had not yet been displayed.

It was a size 50.

They mentioned that if I wanted anything larger, I should consider the Haut à Courroies.

When they brought it out, I tried holding it, and for my physique, it seemed like the perfect size for daily use.

I bought it immediately.

While comparing sizes, they also showed me an Haut à Courroies Cargo series, which I ended up purchasing as well.

The khaki canvas and leather combination was exquisite.

At size 60, it would mainly serve as a travel bag.

It was enormous, but in my hands, it didn’t seem that big—more like carrying a Louis Vuitton Boston bag.

I didn’t even bother asking the price. That would be uncouth.

I simply resolved to cherish and use them well.

Placing the large Hermès shopping bag in the passenger seat of the Pista, I drove back to the hotel, but along the way, I spotted Tom Ford.

I immediately parked and stepped inside—not to look at clothes, but sunglasses.

People often assume I’m an avid sunglasses collector because I bought a pair as soon as I started making money.

But in truth, I’m more of a small accessories enthusiast.

Inside the store, I found a pair of black-lensed sunglasses darker than the ones I usually wear.

I tried them on.

They felt surprisingly natural.

I ended up buying two pairs—the black SNOWDON and a pilot-style pair called AARON.

I hadn’t thought of a specific use for them, but I liked them enough to purchase them.

It dawned on me afterward that my outfit had become unmistakably that of a 00 superfan.

Oh well. If I like it, that’s all that matters.

Swapping my Oliver sunglasses for my brand-new SNOWDONs, I smiled and headed for my next destination—the restaurant L’Hirondelle, which I had heard about at Le Train Bleu yesterday.

There, I ordered the chef’s recommendation from the market menu.

Today’s special was Mediterranean seabass acqua pazza.

The aroma of white wine and olives was intoxicating, almost euphoric.

I nearly ordered a glass of wine but stopped myself, remembering I had driven here.

Back in my suite, I transferred cash and cards into my new Béarn wallet.

It was more spacious than expected, easily holding 200-euro bills.

Leaving 10,000 euros in the Béarn and storing the rest in my Portefeuille Brazza in the hotel safe, I called the front desk to arrange afternoon tea.

Sipping tea on my terrace, gazing at the Mediterranean, I noticed for the first time that the hotel’s tableware was exclusively Richard Ginori.

Dressed in my freshly cleaned “lucky” outfit, I placed the Béarn in my inner pocket.

“Perfect.”

Satisfied with my winning look, I headed to the Casino de Monte-Carlo once again.
