Chapter 57 - Super Boss
However, as he knew that during the fight against the King of the Rats he would have to use the Flames of Hell so that he would not die and they could kill the Boss soon, Zach had an idea to get stronger along their path since he would not be able to earn Exp from the death of the rats.
"Instead of leaving these corpses here, I think it is better to get rid of them," Zach said while pretending to be considering an alternative.
"What do you know, Hybrid demon? Shut up and keep being a scout, since at least while doing that you don't need a Blessing after all demons like you never did need one and are at least a little useful," said Harry, who apparently needed to take his fear and anger out on someone and found Zach to be a good target. Unfortunately for him, his target was not as harmless as he imagined.
"Hoho, am I useless? Then explain why your little tricks couldn't save Roid? Roy? Steroid? Whatever that friend of yours is. If you weren't so weak, pathetic and useless, maybe your friend would still be alive, but instead your brain is filled with dog shit making you arrogant and no brain, entering a dungeon without planning thinking it's your mom's yard." Zach mocked with a cruel smirk, his tone sharp enough to cut through his heart and every word he utter seems to hit a weak point.
Harry froze at the words, his face twisting. Rage boiled over, and without thinking, he conjured sharp shards of ice and hurled them straight at Zach. At that point, the people in the group realized that the argument had gone too far, but it was already too late to stop it, and their problem wasn't that Zach wouldn't be able to defend against it, after all someone who was able to walk through the ancient forest, known as the most dangerous should also be able to block this weak attack. What they were truly scared of was Zach losing control and going on killing spree.
To everyone's great surprise, Zach was not at all concerned. With a single fluid movement, he dodged the shards with inhuman speed, and before Harry could blink, Zach was already standing in front of him. His hand lashed out, not a fist, but a sharp hot slap across Harry's face that echoed through the tunnel.
Zach's expression was calm, his eyes amusing. "Don't make me hurt you. I don't want to break you, even if you deserve it," he said, his voice dripping with a self-righteous weight that stung worse than the slap.
The group stood stunned. Not because Zach had shown some his strength or instantly defeated him or blessings, they knew demons didn't rely on the gods. What shocked them was that he hadn't killed Harry on the spot. Every single one of them knew demons had the worst tempers, and when provoked, they usually went berserk, tearing apart even their own comrades without hesitation. Yet Zach had held back. He had even… advised him, this... This was different from the original plot they always know about demons!
(Zach: I'm not a real demon alright?!)
At that point, Wendy's spiteful look at Amy only deepened further and further, as Amy had stopped her from talking to Zach while they were still on the bus because she said he was a barbaric demon, unpredictable and dangerous, someone to avoid at all costs. But now, standing here, Wendy saw with her own eyes: Zach was no mindless brute. He was skilled with his claws, sharp with tactics, and his hellfire had burned and purified every rat they faced. How could she not be angry with her friend for preventing her from speaking to him?
The group thought Zach was stupid because he was wasting energy by burning these rats, but because he was useful as the group's scout and in later battle, no one complained that he was delaying them. Only he knew he was not wasting energy. On the contrary, the more rats he burned, the stronger his flame became and the more powerful he would be in the battle against the Super Boss, at the same time, Zach also felt like some monsters in his dungeon were being killed and although he didn't gain much exp but he felt it was still nice getting exp from two places.
At that moment, while they were standing in front of the entrance to the Super Boss lair, Zach's Status read:

Seeing this, Zach couldn't help but feel happy. In no time he will definitely surpass Amy. He wonder how she will react knowing he was weaker than her back then and still suppress her.
In a stinky sewage tunnel, fourteen people were standing while looking at a circular metal door, which must have once been used to prevent sewage from crossing into the other area like some sort of dam.
Among the fourteen people, six teenagers were facing each other with shaking hands, still not believing that the first dungeon invasion they participated in was so dangerous even though they were still in a Rank F dungeon. Some of them shivered when they imagined the difficulty of a Rank E dungeon, or even a Rank D dungeon.
