Second Interlude: A sight to the future
Eighteen years have passed since the [Heiress of Calamity] was born.
She had left [Maxwell's Colossal Dungeon] fifteen years ago, and since then much has happened involving a multitude of individuals seeking to find a way to eradicate the vampire.
But none of that is what matters.
The focus now is on what really matters, which is a decision that will call into question the future of the world as we know it.
Initially, she had been given the go-ahead by Olivia Cross, which allowed her to develop in the socio-political sphere of the world, and in turn, to create a nation independent of Ahrsei and Ifgraine, which are her bordering countries.
After being released from the dungeon, the [Heiress of Calamity] had a multitude of followers who requested her to make a country alien to all others in the place where [Maxwell's Colossal Dungeon] was located. And with the help of the [Heroine], she was able to found it from the ground up, without consuming the resources of any nation.
No one wanted to recognise [Folkvangr] as a legitimate country to the point of wanting to eliminate it.
But Ahrsei recognised Olivia Cross's contribution to the founding of that nation and that scored her points in her qualifier for the throne, allowing Olivia to then be crowned as the new [Empress of Ahrsei], and the first thing she did after her coronation was to sign an alliance with [Folkvangr], recognising its independence to Ahrsei as the only country for any race other than human.
In [Folkvangr] only monsters or hybrid races inhabit, giving them rights equal to those of humans, abolishing slavery and violence presented to these species, and making sure to increase security for the rest of the countries without seeking to receive anything in return for their efforts.
And the conflicts developed by this country is what brings us to this short story.
A woman with porcelain-white skin, with hair totally devoid of any colour, long, reaching down to her lower back; she covers her face lightly with a veil, although she stands out enormously because of her totally dark clothes, similar to a nun's outfit.
She walks in high heels, also of a black hue. This woman so pale that she appears to be dead walks with a staff in her hand... no, more precisely a huge staff holding a beautiful blue gem like a sapphire.
This beauty then stops in the middle of the field adjacent to the huge wall surrounding [Folkvangr]. And she announces, amplifying her voice with a spell, to the entire cavalry of humans who were sent to invade the city of monsters.
-Do not cross the limits of the patience of her majesty, the queen. She implores you to end everything in a peaceful manner. If you withdraw now, she will have no reason to behead you all and send you back to your country.
The conflict is between [Folkvangr]
and [Eloim Gaia], which is the country that functions as the hub of the [Church of Kýena], a nation full of believers obsessed with the [System].The man leading this invasion, known as the [Captain of the Holy Inquisition], Marquis Nikolai Rinley, descends from his horse and delivers a message as does the lady in black.
-What confidence does a ruler who sends one of her servants to speak for her show? Clearly that vampire woman knows what we will do to her if she confronts us first! Don't make this any harder, miss. We'll consider not killing you as long as you don't attack us.
Nikolai then steps forward, underestimating the woman in front of him. He walks until he arrives right in front of her. When he realised that the woman was not going to move a muscle, he confidently draws his sword.
The pale woman keeps the same expression from the beginning, without any hesitation in her current position.
What pissed Nikolai off about this woman is that even standing in front of her, the woman doesn't even look up to see him. He clicks his tongue (Tsk...), and raises his voice.
-So, what's your answer, miss? -. Nikolai asks, hoping to threaten an entity like this woman.
She then smiles a little...
-Her majesty ordered me to have zero tolerance for arrogant people coming here. Do you consider yourself arrogant, sir?
By asking that question, she only made Nikolai angrier.
-How dare you speak to me like that, bitch!
Then, raising his sword, he lashes out at this woman who doesn't even have a piece of armor on her body. It should be easy, shouldn't it?
However... Nikolai feels his head suddenly move. It was spontaneous. And he didn't know what happened.
His vision goes down, with a wet thump.
And before he lost consciousness, the last thing he saw was the mistake he made. Seeing that the staff wielded by this woman had suddenly turned into a halberd, and was now a little full of blood.
-This death was too simple. It is a pity. But nevertheless, I will wipe away the traces of your death. I proclaim myself before you, [Believers of Kýena].
The woman pauses a short while, staking the staff into the ground, and lifting her dress a little, she bows forward, saying politely.
-My only name is Morrigan, you may safely call me, [The Hand of the Queen], [The Dark Lady] or [Goddess of Death]. What you call me is useless now.
After her short introduction, she simply raises her left hand. Making the grimace of a gun with her fingers, and keeping her firm smile.
They all start to make their horses run, as long as they want to flee. They know what awaits them now, for they have heard that name all over the world. They don't even try to attack her or anything like that.
But she doesn't stop her attack.
Before launching it, she just says:
-Right now you can define me under the vile definition of [Death]. Thank you for visiting Folkvangr, gentlemen. This is a gift from her majesty to [The Patriarch]. -. Finishing her line, she grimaces as if she has just fired.
As the woman in black finished that action, with no one able to do anything to prevent their despicable end, they were consumed by a powerful one-way spell that moved for miles, piercing through the entire formation of knights.
All those who fell victim to such destructive power left no trace on the ground, even Nikolai Rinley's corpse was consumed by the extreme amount of [Magical Energy] that was hurled.
The knights at the sides of the shot were sent flying several meters above the ground along with their horses.
There was no unwarranted bloodshed as there had been in other situations.
This is Morrigan, Folkvangr's foreign relations officer and the leader of the second war squadron. Aside from being one of the ten people who hears orders directly from the [Heiress of Calamity].
It's going to be a while before the current Elise gets to know Morrigan. But it's just a matter of waiting.

Hey, the writer of this book reporting.
First of all, I would like to thank you for reading the story up to this point, the readings to all my chapters motivate me to keep writing, I know sometimes I forget some things like grammar, but that's because I usually write fast during my time at university, hehe. I'm sorry if there are mistakes in it.
So, I recently read the review that a user did to this story and I'm happy for these, although is a 1☆ review, I'm glad anyway; is the first review for one of my stories.
I know that this isn't a good story but in my mind all the connections, decisions, dialogs and including the hypocrisy of my characters have sense. Elise have a cheerful and very expresive personality to not make the story so dark that would be. And I understand if someone dislikes it if my story isn't the stereotype, I express before that I don't like that things.
But anyways, thanks for all of you that read at this mini-chapter. If someone have the same opinion, so drop it because there'll many things that you probably dislike.
Until next time.
Akira.
