Chapter 65: Tailor II
Although Diether doesn't know the hooded man, he was hoping that he'll survive in his current predicament due to the identity of the robbers.
The Fog Mountain Bandits weren't known for their extreme ruthlessness on their victims. They weren't merciless people like the other bandit groups. However, they would leave nothing behind to their victims and they should have possessed a massive treasure trove somewhere in the Fog Mountain by now.
With the riches they have stolen, they shouldn't be too greedy to operate near the Rosen Town…
Clang! Clang!
Diether heard another wave of the battle occurred after entering the town's proper. It seems that the guards had decided to interfere…
Clink! Clink! Clink!
Diether glanced at the source of the sound coming in front of their carriage.
After looking outside the window, he noticed that they passed another batch of guards hurrying outside the town to provide support.
"The town's security was too different from the village…"
The Farahn Village's defense mostly relied on the Hunter groups or Arcanists living within the village. Although there were guards that were stationed there, their numbers were low compared to the Licensed Hunters.
It was completely unlike here where the guards are numerous and are all disciplined wearing full-body armors. They also seem to have received special training as Diether felt their Spiritual Energy radiating from their bodies. Although he wasn't sure whether it was truly coming from them or their weapons, it was still very impressive.
He no longer bothered to think about it seeing that they got involved in the fight. He alighted from the carriage and paid 80 copper coins and started asking a passerby for a good tailor shop.
"Oh… If you're looking for the best tailor… You can visit the lady's shop beside the Fluffy Time Coffee House at the second district…"
"Really? What's the name of the tailor shop?"
"Ah, what was it again? We're just calling it old lady's… Anyway, you can see it once you arrived at the coffee house I told you…"
"Alright, thank you!"
Diether went on ahead and even confirmed to others about the best tailor shop in the town. He received the same answers from them and was now aware of the Tailor Shop's name. Although there are other tailor shops within the town, it seems that the feedback from that specific shop was undeniably the best.
Aside from that, the name of the shop was truly just the "Lady's Tailor Shop"… It wasn't hard to remember but because the name doesn't look like a special brand, it was probably being overlooked.
The street he entered doesn't have enough space for carriages and he can see a lot of people hanging around the stores.
There were bakeries, fruit shops, street food vendors, and small restaurants on this street… However, at the end of the street was a small house.
That's right, the place doesn't look like a tailor shop at all. If not for the poorly written Lady's Tailor Shop and the Fluffy Time Coffee Shop beside it, he wouldn't think of it as a shop.
'Now that I think about it… This tailor shop might only be accepting tasks related to ladies…' Diether thought before deciding to see it for himself.
Ting! Ting!
The sound of chimes was heard as he opened the door of the shop. The smell of different types of fabric welcomed Diether and he liked the smell a little bit…
Soon, he noticed an old lady, probably the owner of the shop. She was fixing a machine that was probably related to sewing. Diether was sure that she heard him entering so he only watched her as it seems that she was busy.
He was not familiar with the machine and the place itself so he took this time to observe the surroundings. There were a lot of clothes with exquisite designs, bags, curtains, bedsheets, pillowcases, and many more.
There were even a couple of leather armors in the corner of the shop…
"Ehem…"
Diether noticed that the old lady was now looking at him.
"H-hello! I wanted to request something…"
He immediately pulled out the Tranquility Fabric he purchased from the auction and showed it to the lady…
The latter immediately understood and appraised the material…
"This is the finest quality for this fabric… What do you want to make out of this?"
'She seems to be easy to talk with.'
Diether immediately asked his master to tell him about the Hakama and Keikogi. Reiji even decided to use Take Over to quickly draw the layout of the clothes…
After providing this to the old lady, the latter went silent as if trying to understand the layout Diether has drawn.
"Hmm… This is interesting… Are you going to wear this?"
"That's right, Ma'am."
"Oh… Are you sure that you'll be comfortable in these loose clothes?"
"Y-yes…"
Diether wasn't sure either but answered positively.
"Very well… Based on the size of the fabric you brought, you can have about 3 sets of these clothes…"
"Really? Then…"
After pausing or a bit, he continued.
"We'll just make a single set and save the others for later …"
"Mhmm… That's a good idea. You're still young… You'll grow quickly with your age."
The old lady agreed as they discussed the price for the request. After making an agreement, she measured Diether's sizes…
"When will you finish making these?"
"We still have other orders we needed to finish first… Give us about 10 days…"
Diether went silent for a bit as he asked for his master's opinion. Reiji doesn't have any issues with it so they decided to just visit this town again after the said date.
The young man then paid 1 gold and 80 silver coins, which wasn't a small amount. It was due to the difficulty of handling the fabric that he brought.
'I'm worried about the safety of this fabric here… I hope it won't be stolen…'
The young man received the receipt for the transaction and opened the door to leave the store.
"Ahh…"
Diether saw the hooded man standing outside the tailor shop. No, he already let down the hood covering his head and the young man can now observe his face.
He was half the size of this man holding the wrapped cage. His face looks pretty even though he was really tired as his short brown hair was sticking to his face due to his sweat.
Now that he was closer to the man, he doesn't seem to have a body that was built for combat… His skin looks soft and even resembles that of a female.
He even smiled at him as a greeting before he entered the tailor shop.
He seems to be a polite person.
Then, he heard the old lady reprimanding the man who just entered.
"You— We have a lot of orders today but you just left me here! What if we didn't finish the orders? And what's that you were holding?!"
'Eh? He seems to be working here…' Diether thought after hearing the scolding. The door has already closed and he already walked away so he no longer heard their further conversation…
It seems that the shop wasn't simple at all… Anyway, now that he learned that the person working here was someone incredible, he would no longer worry about the security of his material.
Diether then decided to spend the night in the town before going back to Farahn Village in the next morning.
