chapter 257
Cheon Do-hee met with the Mimax representative and did everything within her power.
She signed the contract, clarified work responsibilities, and made sure Magia wouldn’t be deployed for purposes outside the agreed scope.
She also made sure the credit didn’t go solely to the company while Magia got nothing in return for all her effort.
“Honestly, we wanted to compensate Gia, but she absolutely refused. I was sweating like crazy trying to convince her.”
“Oh, I’m sorry about that…”
But once she realized that the one causing all this was Magia herself, Do-hee could only laugh.
Seriously—after putting herself through all that, she declined compensation and funneled all the benefits to the company.
Parallel getting an ad deal from Mimax was great and all, but if they suddenly had Gia working without pay, Mimax would be in an awkward position as a business too. She clearly hadn’t considered that.
‘I’ll have to talk to her about this later.’
Anyway, thanks to Magia, Mimax weathered the crisis.
And in the process, the voice actor “Danbi” had skyrocketed in public awareness.
Just looking at how the community buzz hadn’t died down even into the next week was enough proof of that.

I really wanted a photo with that Loro cosplayer.
But my photographer instincts wouldn’t let me get just a normal shot.
So I went all-in and snapped a few like I was shooting a model, using my DSLR.
Not to brag, but I honestly think these are the best Loro cosplay shots out there. For real.

…
(Loro_10.jpg)
I lined up like five times.
And I think she even remembered me, since I’d already shot her once?
But she struck new poses without a word. Total pro behavior.
Also got some shots during the roleplay skit at the Mimax booth.

It was so surreal I even filmed it.
Legit felt like Loro had descended. LOL

Apparently she’s the voice actor for Loro?
By my standards, she was legendary.
Every cent I’ve poured into camera gear, all the time I’ve spent learning to shoot—this Mafe made it all worth it.

So in the end, it was Danbi who became famous.
And by the following week, it was the Mimax rep who found himself in a tight spot.
On the day Magia visited Mimax to sign a payment agreement for her cosplay appearance, the rep looked utterly distressed.
“I’m going insane lately.”
After signing one of the two contract copies and slipping hers into her bag, Magia tilted her head.
“Why?”
“Everyone keeps asking who the hell that cosplayer was. They’re begging me for contact info.”
“Oh no…”
The issue was simple—there was no channel through which people could connect with Danbi.
Fan_C, for example, had official socials and her agency CAT Entertainment.
But as for Danbi—the voice actor and cosplayer—Magia had only ever intended to use that identity once. She hadn’t thought about anything that might come after.
So when developers and industry folks tried to track her down to hire her, all roads led back to Mimax’s poor rep.
“Any chance you’d consider creating an official social account?”
“I’d like to help since you’re clearly struggling… but I don’t really have the bandwidth to actively work as a pro voice actor or cosplayer.”
“Oh, no. I’m not asking you to keep performing. Just… maybe some light interaction with fans who love Danbi?”
At this point, Magia began to feel suspicious.
If he wasn’t asking her to keep performing or taking gigs, then what was this about?
“Did something else happen that’s forcing me to make a public appearance? From what you showed me earlier, it didn’t seem like anything major.”
Even if things looked chaotic now, she knew community buzz died down quickly.
People would move on to the next shiny thing soon enough—this was a world where exciting stuff happened multiple times a day.
But the rep shook his head.
“It’s not just what I showed you.”
He then played a short clip for Magia.
The channel name wasn’t familiar, and she was about to dismiss it—until she saw herself in the video and got pulled in instantly.

As Magia stared intently at the screen, the rep explained.
“This channel is basically the unofficial go-to for English-speaking Mimax fans. They usually post cute edits of gameplay and in-game voice lines. But this time, they grabbed your footage—super rare.”
“I see.”
“That just shows how incredible your performance at Mafe was. And thanks to that, inquiries are pouring in from all over the world. Everyone wants to know who you are.”
“So that’s why you asked if I’d consider running an official channel.”
“Yes. All those inquiries are hitting our global division, and it’s seriously disrupting their workload…”
“That’s a problem, yeah. I guess I should do something about it.”
“If you feel it’s a violation of your portrait rights, we’ll take action on your behalf.”
“Nah, it’s fine. It’s not like my face is a top-secret military asset or anything.”
Still, it wasn’t something to take lightly.
If she didn’t clarify her stance, Mimax would be the one to suffer.
They’d been generous with ad deals and so many other things—she needed to take some kind of action in return.
Propping her chin in her hand, Magia pondered for a moment before speaking.
“How about I record a short greeting video for Mimax’s official channel?”
“Huh?”
This support at the booth had been an extremely rare occurrence, and normally, she lived a very ordinary life.
So while she appreciated the attention, she hoped people would be satisfied with occasional greetings like this.
“I can speak both English and Japanese. Including Korean, that’s three versions total. I think I’ll record all three and upload them. What do you think?”
“That’s a great idea. Let’s move forward with it—wait, actually… Shouldn’t we report this to your boss first?”
“Oh, right.”
“Knew it. CEO Cheon Do-hee seems to care about her staff a lot.”
So Magia called Cheon Do-hee to get permission for the extra task. The response she got was:
[Yeah, figured you wouldn’t just let it slide.]
“Did you see the Shorts video?”
[Didn’t see the Shorts, but I saw you tearing it up at the venue.]
“Ahaha.”
[When the person with the flashiest cosplay also nails ★ 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 ★ the acting, what do you think people are gonna see? Fans all think the same way in the end.]
She was only re-performing the voice acting she’d already done, this time with her body.
Even Magia could tell people were reacting differently than usual.
She kept telling herself it was “just work.”
Faces full of excitement, flushed cheeks, awe, wonder, joy, and emotion.
She saw all those reactions from the audience, and even though they didn’t elevate her personally… still—
She worried she’d sound like a robot if she said she felt nothing, so she chose her words carefully.
“Well, I guess I can sort of understand how they feel.”
[Right. You’re just filming a short video, anyway. Not a big deal. Just make sure you sign a proper contract. The rep seems like a good guy, but let’s keep things clean.]
“Yes.”
[And you’ve been thanking Nanhyang for the cosplay makeup, right?]
“Of course. I keep telling her thank you, and I even brought her a bunch of gifts last time.”
[Really? …Why doesn’t she ever say anything and make me look bad then. Anyway, let me know once the schedule’s set.]
“Okay.”
Now that she had the green light, things moved fast.
Nanhyang and Magia scheduled the shoot first.
The Mimax rep, thrilled, handed over a freelance contract and three versions of the script.
“Hello, this is Danbi, the voice actor.
Thank you so much for all the love you’ve shown Coral Blue…”
***
Magia spent a few days rehearsing her thank-you message in all three languages.
Then, on the scheduled date, she visited the studio in cosplay and completed the video shoot.
About two weeks later—

The English and Japanese versions each hit over 30 million views, becoming a viral sensation.
While Magia was busy helping with Darami’s Gen 2 debut preparations…
She got another call from the Mimax rep.
By now, they were so used to contacting each other that Magia responded like she was talking to a friend.
“What now?”
[I can tell you recognize me just from the call now.]
“Every time you call, there’s always something huge following.”
[And you’re exactly right again.]
Wait, she was just joking that time.
Magia tilted her head in confusion as the rep continued.
[Not sure if you’ve heard, but our official animation’s first season ended two weeks ago—basically right after our last meeting. It was a huge hit. The global revenue spiked.]
“Ah, sorry, I had no idea.”
[No need to apologize. Anyway, after that, we got the final player feedback data for the last chapter of the game’s first arc, and it was so overwhelmingly positive that the production for the anime’s second season was greenlit immediately.]
“Congratulations.”
According to the rep, Mimax had approved the second season last week.
Then, when they sent word to the Japanese animation studio that handled the first season, they got back an unexpected request.
[Save the congrats for later. There’s something we need to talk about first.]
“Go ahead, I’m listening.”
[So… Gia, you’ve been recommended to voice Roro again in the second season of the anime.]
Magia tilted her head, thinking she’d misheard.
“You mean they want me to voice Roro in the anime?”
The rep, sounding visibly excited, repeated:
[Yes. And as one of the main leads, no less. This was a request directly from the animation studio.]
