I May Be a Virtual Youtuber, but I Still Go to Work

chapter 240 - 🖼️

Though the vile leader of Red Hood had fallen, no one in the underground fortress dared let their guard down.

Because everyone knew.
There was someone behind Darami.
And that someone—was the real mastermind behind the chaos that had engulfed the city.

But then, an unfamiliar voice rang out, catching everyone off guard.
“Wow. All these people came just to catch one little girl?”
“What the—”

“…Huh?”
The voice echoed from the very last section of the three-part labyrinth, Zone 3.
Sure, it was an RP server, so an unusually youthful voice wasn’t that odd. But a completely unfamiliar voice, coming from nowhere? That was unsettling.

They could hear it clearly, yet no one could locate its source.
Only one among them remained composed.
Kim Cheol-soo—Mugeon, under his new RP name—responded coolly to the voice of Magia.
“Don’t be swayed. Considering everything this person has done, even her voice is likely just another tool for manipulation.”

“But still, the voice—”
“She is the true boss of Red Hood. The real shadow behind all that has happened. Don’t forget that.”
“Tch.”

Dingsam stepped forward, clearly ready to blow off some steam.
He needed to confirm it with his own eyes.
With only one person left to face, there was no reason to hesitate anymore.

But as he marched ahead, Mugeon physically blocked his path.
“And what do you think might be waiting ahead?”
“I need to see that bastard’s face with my own eyes!”

“Keep charging in without thinking and your body’s going to end up as minced meat.”
“What the hell are you—”
“You don’t know how many explosives are buried in there.”

And right on cue, Magia’s giggle echoed out.
“Huh, I thought you were all just idiots, but looks like there’s one smart guy here who might be worth talking to! That’s right! If you come walking in all clueless, BOOM! I’ve scattered plenty of bombs for that exact reason!”
“Can’t someone shut that mouth of hers?”

“No thanks~.”
“Then I guess I’ll go shut it for you.”
“You think you can even get this far? Kehihi—!”
BANG!

A single bullet tore through the darkness—
Ting!—embedding into the floor, right at her feet.
She went silent for a moment.

“…Heeey.”
“Your little games end here. I’ll drag you into court and make sure you get the punishment you deserve.”
“Aww, didn’t you say the same thing to our boss? And that totally worked out, right? Kehihi.”

Ignoring her provocation, Mugeon turned and spoke quietly to Dingsam.
There was only one way through the minefield.
“We’ll need sacrifices. I’ll go first.”

Dingsam’s eyes widened as he grabbed Mugeon’s arm.
“Whoa, hold on! What are you saying?”
“There’s no way to defuse every single bomb. We’ve got numbers—some of us will have to brute-force our way through.”

At that, Dingsam thought back to how the Trash Duo had paved the way before.
Magia’s field of explosives.
To breach it, someone had to sprint straight through.

It wasn’t an easy call in real life—but on an RP server? Not impossible.
Tch. Clicking his tongue, Dingsam said,
“Then let us take the hit.”
“Why?”

“What do you mean, why?!”
Dingsam pointed to the civilians and officers behind them.
Wasn’t this supposed to be justice by the hands of the people?

“If we’re gonna keep running our businesses in this city, some sacrifices are worth it. That’s how you build a real story. Right?”
“…Ah.”
“And besides, I’ve lived long enough. Time to pass the torch to the kids. I don’t want to be one of those old guys who dies clinging to power.”

Mugeon sighed and stepped back.
Do as you please.
Dingsam gathered volunteers and stood at the front of the line himself.

He’d always been a leader who acted first—and now, at the end, he was going to lead by example.
With Mugeon here, capturing the boss wouldn’t be impossible anyway.
“One at a time! Go in order! Got it?!”

“Yes, sir!!”
“GOOOOO!!”
The mafia’s roar ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) echoed through the cave—

BOOM! BANG!
The ground exploded beneath Dingsam’s feet as he sprinted forward.
The mafia behind him clenched their fists, swallowing hard.

But as Dingsam had said, their sacrifices would pave the way for smoother operations in the post-Red Hood city.
BOOM! BOOM! KRAKOOM!
Thick smoke filled the cavern.

The detonations continued—over and over.
Only after more than half the mafia had fallen—both Dingsam’s initial squad and additional volunteers—did the explosions finally stop.
They couldn’t be sure every bomb was cleared, so Eona, acting as deputy commander, had the remaining forces move forward in a wide, spread-out formation.

No more explosions.
But the deeper they advanced, the clearer Magia’s voice became, now straight ahead.
“Come on in! I’ve been waiting!”

Eventually, Eona reached the final chamber—
TATATATA!
Sudden rapid gunfire forced everyone to a halt.

Eona and several mafia were shot down with screams, dropping where they stood.
Everyone hit the ground, stunned.
“What, did you think I’d just let you catch me ‘cause the bombs are gone? That’s adorable. You guys really suck!”

Only one person remained standing—Mugeon, at the very back of the formation.
While everyone else was frozen, he moved forward without hesitation.
As soon as she heard his footsteps, another flurry of bullets was unleashed.

But Mugeon didn’t flinch.
Ducking, dodging, rolling—he slipped through the storm—
BANG!

“KYAA!”
—And landed a clean shot to Magia’s stomach, knocking her to the stone floor.
She hit the ground with a loud thud.

Mugeon closed in instantly, pinning her down and aiming a pistol at her head.
“It’s over.”
The others scrambled up and rushed into the wide chamber.

When they saw her face, they gasped, mouths covered, or simply stood in stunned silence.
Some muted their RP mics, others screamed that they’d been duped.
Those who had avoided spoilers just to uncover the truth for themselves… finally understood.

The deep-blue hair.
Bright sky-colored eyes.
That mischievous, upturned smile.
A teddy bear in her arms, with a visible fuse cord.
A frilly, ribboned, elaborate dress—
It was Magia.
“Ugh… That hurt! You didn’t have to go that hard!”

— ?
— Wait... lol
— Holy sh*t
— That’s Magia???
— She’s finally revealing herself, this chaos gremlin
— I KNEW IT LMAO
— Actually yeah her model totally gave it away lol
— Guess that one hospital visit was a dead giveaway huh
— And to think people called it a troll theory
— Honestly, spoilers ruined the impact for me
— Still, it’s MAGIA LOL
— Wait so she stayed in character this whole time???
— Her voice was nothing like Magia’s tho??
— Did she swap vocal cords or something?
— Kinda glad I didn’t read the community threads—this twist SLAPS
— THIS IS IT
— Chat is absolutely losing it rn
— LMFAOOOOOOO
Mugeon glared at her.
“You seriously want to call all of this a joke now?”

Magia smiled that same playful, chaotic smile.
“Kehihi, well duh! It was all a joke! We’ve been having fun this whole time, haven’t we—”
BANG—!

A single shot scraped past her cuffed wrist, leaving a loud ringing in her ear.
Mugeon lowered his pistol.
“You show no remorse.”

Even if she stood trial, Tia wouldn’t change.
She’d always been like this.
She had to disappear like morning dew on the gallows.

“Of course not. This was just a bit of fun for me!”

But Magia—Tia—wasn’t going to just roll over and die.
She was the final boss, after all.
She had to go out messy—fighting until the bitter end.
“I wasn’t going to use this card, but, hehe…”

“…What?”
“If you don’t let me go right now, everyone here dies.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”

“Oh, nothing. Just that there’s a ticking time bomb ready to bring the whole cave down. Cough, cough… Didn’t you ever think it was weird how few explosives you’d seen so far, compared to what I’ve looted over time?”
Mugeon turned and shouted to the people nearby.
“Everyone, quiet!”

As the echoes faded—
A subtle noise reverberated through the cave.
Tick. Tick. Tick.

“…You insane bitch!”
“KYAHAHA! Hurry and take off these cuffs! I’ll disarm it, promise!”
— Absolutely unhinged
— How far ahead did she PLAN this?!
— She just loves her traps lol
— Master of chaos right here
— Her stall game is next level fr

It was a nerve-wracking moment. Should they uncuff her or not?
The officer next to Mugeon looked to him for direction.
And Mugeon, after a moment’s hesitation, was just about to give the go-ahead—

When Youngun burst into the chamber.
“WAAAAAIT—!! Do not unlock her! If you do, we all die!!”
Skidding to a stop, he frantically yelled:

“That ticking sound—it’s fake! It’s just playing through a speaker! The moment you free her, she’ll hit the real detonator!”
Come to think of it… the ticking was oddly loud.
Even with multiple timers, it didn’t make sense.

That’s when everyone noticed the large speaker Youngun was carrying—found on the way through the collapsed tunnel.
Startled, Mugeon and the others backed away.
Only then did Magia mutter:

“…Damn. You found it.”
Her voice, laced with madness, sounded genuinely disappointed—like a real bomber caught in the act.
“Aww, I wanted to keep playing… I’m not ready for this to end. Heehee!”

Everyone winced at her crazed tone.
“Let’s play more, yeah? We can still have fun, right? So why… why does it have to end here—”
Thud.

Magia collapsed forward, silenced mid-sentence.
Mugeon cried out, panicked.
“Medic! Is there a medic here?!”

Youngun immediately shouted into his radio.
“MEDIC! EMERGENCY CASE! SHE NEEDS TO LIVE! GET HERE NOW!!”
[I’m in the hallway—on my way! She’s in the very back room?]

“Yes, hurry!!”
But someone beat Cheon Do-hee to it.
Emerging from a wooden crate where he'd been hiding all this time—

Taro rushed to Magia's side and stopped the bleeding.
Mugeon stared, shocked.
“Vice Director…? Where have you been all this time?”

“For this.”
“For what?”
“I didn’t want her to escape into death.”

“…?”
Taro looked at him with solemn eyes.
“I wanted her to stand trial. To face her crimes. To truly understand what she’s done. That’s why I never left her side.”

…
Thanks to Taro’s quick treatment, Magia’s vitals stabilized.
Still in pain, she rasped, dragging herself across the floor.

“Haah… damn… kehihi… guess we can still… play a little more…”
To which Youngun, as the citizens’ representative, firmly replied:
“No. The game’s over.”

Red Hood was no more.
The boss had been captured.
The city’s people had won.
And thus, the story of Red Hood came to an end.

“One hour from now, we’ll put you on trial. And finally bring this endless fight to a close.”
