I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 585: The Crystal Ball

As an Armageddon, Vestal was at the apex of beings. An Armageddon by itself is powerful and could destroy an entire country by itself, and Vestal was a tier higher than that.

What makes her more special than the others was how she was made. While other Armageddons, like the one at the Championship of the Greats, require parts of the souls of the users to allow the Armageddon to manifest.

The Sins sacrificed some of their souls to create the Armageddon. Meanwhile, Vestal was different. It requires the entire being of an individual to form her. That means that she does not only need he soul of the summoner, but the body, and the existence itself.

As she manifests, the ones who manifested her disappeared into oblivion. They couldn't see the Afterlife for they are gone, and never to return.

Claer grunted as she kept on trying to seal her wounds. "I have been trying to break free from the curse and I luckily managed to do so right on time."

"Is that why Vestal was summoned when not all attendants are dead?" Lance asked. "Because it would seem like Vestal was only manifested because the attendants died. It wasn't just a coincidence. You broke free."

"That is true," Claer said. "Vestal is an overwhelming being, but without me, it's just like any other Armageddon."

"Then let's not waste any more time," Connor said. He morphed into his Infernal form while Hope morphed into his dragonoid form. They both looked at each other before launching themselves towards their foe.

Vestal smirked and conjured spheres od black and white energy. She was aiming at the boys who were approaching her, firing hundreds of smaller spheres. "Why are you attacking me head on? Don't you know, I am stronger than you in every possible way. Those kinds of lousy attack would never work on me!"

"Let us see about that!" Ed suddenly appeared behind her. He was covered with his dark purplish armor as well as his sword that was now twice as large. "Take this, Vestal!"

The woman shrugged and spun, blocking the attack with her lowest pair of arms. She was nonchalantly avoiding the succeeding attacks from Ed, as if she already knew what his next move was.

"You are really weak, do you know that?" Vestal asked. "It's like, I'm fighting against a toddler who doesn't know anything. He just strikes and strikes and not really doing anything else but that."

"Like this?" Connor tapped on Vestal's chest when she wasn't looking. She gasped when she saw that she had been marked by Connor. "I'm using a new trick I learned."

"Why you little—" Vestal stopped from speaking. She held the part where the mark was and she started screaming in pain. Her body semeed to glow as the mark erupted with a burning blue flame.

Vestal's body burned as she screamed at the pain that she was feeling. "What did you do?!"

"Just apply marks," Connor smirked. "Carmina was a fan of that technique. And since you have her memories, you should know what that is."

Vestal growled and placed the middle pair of hands together, clasping at each other as she continued to groan. "This is not the end for me!"

A black flame ignited inside of her, swallowing all the blue flames from her body before the black flames spun around her. She now owned the energy that Connor placed upon her.

"Ah," Vestal chuckled as she ate the black flames that was spinning around her. "That was a good meal. I never knew that eating flames could taste that great."

"What did she do?" Connor asked in distraught. "Did she just corrupt the flames and eat it?"

"It seems so," Ed said when he reached beside him. "Vestal can corrupt the attacks that we launch at her and then she absorbs it. This is ridiculous."

"But you don't have an enegy that you fire," Lance said. "You have the ability to cancel the powers of your enemies. If we get to cancel her powers, we can then cut her arms off."

"That's fair," Ed nodded, grinning when he realized that he can earn the spotlight this time. "Let's do this. I have been longing to have a spotlight of my own."

"Everyone, new plan," Lance ordered. "Protect Ed as he approaches Vestal. Ed, don't give away that you're the one that's being protected. If it's possible, everyone should protect everyone to confuse Vestal."

"That wouldn't work." Claer said. "Vestal has already studied her enemies and learned about their abilities. She also knows her weakness, so it would seem like she knows what your plan is already. Vestal is not just an enemy, she's a beast."

"Then, you should lead us," Lance said. "Tell us what to do in order to defeat her."

"Weaken her with as much physical attack as you can," Claer said. "When she used up her energy, she will resort to use the ones she stole. And that is when all hail lets loose. Vestal would go into an Awakening where she would become a being that is already comparable to an Absolute."

"Equal to an Absolute," Lance gulped. "Then we just have to knock her out before she summons her hidden ability."

Lance brandished his swords before sighing. He was already almost at his limit fron all the battles, yet they still have to help Elliot destroy Malice after this. He wanted to say how tired he was but he knew better.

He needed to be strong for his friends. They were all tired and they all wanted to take a break, but taking that is the just going to jeopardize them. Time is of the essence. They have get this over quick.

"Then if she knows our plan, then it's easy to assume that she can avoid all of our attacks," Claer said. "We have to surprise her with everything she could just so she could be defeated. It's not easy dealing with her."

"Claer, what exactly did you do that the others had to kick you out like that?" Lance asked when he returned to position. "I don't think I pinpoint what is odd about you, but then I have to know."

"I'm a doppleganger," Claer said. "That is why I look like someone you know. My face resembles everyone I know which weirded you out because I look like them, but I'm not them.."

"And what does have to do with anything?" Lance asked. "They're also from different race. Why should only you get kicked out?"

"Because I not only reject everything Malice believes, I also know how she does her technique," Claer said, smirking. "I am her first attendant after all."

Elliot was watching Malice as she smile at him. "You look just like your mother and you kind of look like me and someone else."

Elliot didn't let even a single second go by without him lowering his guard. He was not going to allow Malice to take advantage of his opening so she can attack him and destroy him. He knew how evil she was and he knew that he would resort to anything just to win.

"Again, where is my mother?" Elliot asked with a full and dominant voice. "Tell me where she is, Malice."

"She's somewhere," Malice chuckled. "You know, you sounding like that seemed like a very familiar person."

Elliot grunted. "What does my father have do to with this?"

"So you know who your father is?" Malice smirked. "He was a strong angel, indeed. He could defeat half of my Vassals without breaking a sweat. He was that powerful, even more than the Cosmic Sun."

"Shut up," Elliot said. "Once I'm done with you, I'll take my mother and we will raid Heaven to get him. I believe he's still alive."

"Oh, he's so much alive." Malice laughed. She walked away from Elliot and took something from the dresser near the bed of the room. It was a crystal sphere that has dark clouds looming inside it. "I took some of Sariel's blood and used it to take a peek at Heaven."

Elliot narrowed his eyes, skeptical about what the woman was saying. Malice only smirked and rubbed the crystal sphere, whispering something inside it before letting it float towards Elliot.

He didn't leave his eyes on her as the crystal floated. He stepped back and glanced at the crystal for a second, then returning his gaze at his enemy.

"You saw, didn't you?" Malice grinned. "You saw what's inside the crystal."

Elliot growled before he used his Hasty Aspire to strike the crystal. It broke into a thousand pieces and fell to the ground as Elliot was now filled with rage. "You're trying to trick me, I know."

Malice laughed and shook her head. "Oh, no, boy. I wasn't trying to trick anyone here. I was just showing you what your father's state is right now. He was a criminal when he left Heaven. Do you think he deserved a hero's welcome when he returned?!"

Elliot sighed. "No, but you're lying. I know that."
