Chapter 538: Clan Wants Hope Home
Elliot arrived back in their guild house and saw the joyous people there. Lance greeted him with a smile and showed him Clan who was looking away, bashfully trying to hide himself.
"I…" Elliot looked at Lance. "But he was killed, didn't he?"
Lance went on to explain to Elliot about the Soul Collectors. It was the first time that Elliot had ever heard of them and he was interested in what they could do. It was like giving people second lives again.
"But then again, Soul Collectors does not always collect souls just for anyone," Lance said. "They only take care of the worthy."
Elliot nodded in understanding. He hasn't encountered anyone that was worthy yet, so he wasn't sure that he would meet anyone else revided aside from Clan.
Clan stood at a table, making everyone look at him. He was grinning from ear to ear as he tapped a spoon on his glass. "Everyone, everyone. I want you all to listen to what I have to say."
When he got everyone's attention, the man grinned and pointed at Hope. "Now that I'm back, I'm going to take my nephew home."
"What?!" everyone in the guild house chorused.
–
"This can't be possible," Elliot was pacing around his room while his friend were sitting on his bed, all sharing the same look as he was. "I don't want Hope to go back there. I mean, Hope, do you want to?"
The dragon boy immediately shook his head. "My realm was a nice place, but I don't want to live there for the rest of my life. And what does he want me to do there, rule? Dracon already has its own established government, so what's the big idea?"
The group wanted to talk to Clan about their refusal for the man's plans, but he already fell alseep before they could talk to him. They also thought that it wouldn't be a good idea to bring up such topic because Clan was drunk, therefore he might be unreasonable at the moment.
"How do we convince Clan not to bring you back there?" Connor asked. "Because if you ask me, I have no idea. I don't really feel close to Clan nor do I know anything about him."
"Same," everyone else in the room said.
"Then we can just show him how much happier Hope would be in here," Elliot said with burning passion. "Tomorrow, we tour Clan around the city and we let him see how beautiful Terra is."
"Let's do that," Lance chuckled but nodded. "It's a silly idea, but what is not a silly idea when it comes to this group."
"I know, right?" Ed sighed. "What is?"
–
The morning came and Clan was the first one to wake up. Currently, there were only eight members of The Titans guild and the guild house was spacious so it would look like the building was much bigger than it would seem.
"What a lovely morning, Clan," Midnight came towards the man and served him his breakfast. "No one in this guild knows how to cook yet, so they asked me for help."
"Wow, being served by such a lovely maiden this early in the–"
Smack!
"Enjoy your meal," Midnight grinned and left like he just didn't slam his first right across Clan's jaw.
You could hear five face slaps from across the room, Elliot grunting and walking towards Clan. "Hello, Clan. Did you have a good sleep?"
"What was that all about?" Clan asked as he composed himself and gently rubbed his jaw where the pain was at. "That woman can throw a heavy punch. It was quite painful."
"You can compliment Midnight however you want, but you cannot tell him that's he's a woman," Elliot sighed.
"That woman was a man?" Clan gasped as he covered his mouth. Elliot sighed but nodded a couple of times.
"Same reaction I had when I knew," Connor said as he and Ed walked up to them. "The most beautiful woman known to man, is a man."
"That's unfortunate," Ed shook his head. "But hey, a hole is a–"
He was slammed down to the table by Elliot who was laughing with a sinister aura around him. "That's not why we're here, right? So, Clan. What are your plans for today?"
"I just want to walk around and see the city before I go," Clan replied. It was like a signal for Elliot and his friends.
They were already talking amongst themselves using their eyes, all agreeing on something.
"What are you guys doing?" Clan pursed his lips. "Do I have something on my face?"
"No," Elliot grinned. "In fact, since you're our guest, we have to show you around the city. Alorde has too much to offer that you wouldn't regret being here, or living here for that matter."
"What?" Clan laughed. "A dragon does not belong with humans. I am a dragon, therefore– ah. Speaking of dragons. Hope, my boy. Come here."
Hope gulped as he approached the table. He sat there with the others while wishing that he wouldn't say anything remotely offensive to his uncle.
"Your friends just told me about touring me around the city, do you want to come?" Clan asked, but Hope shook his head. He then pursed his lips as his eyes became wet before he ran away like a little child.
"What was that all about?" Clan chuckled. "Well, I guess he's at that age where he likes to rebel, right? We've all been there."
Elliot nodded but he couldn't stop himself from tearing up. The thought of being separated from his friend was hurting him, but he had to stay strong. He has to convince Clan that Terra was a good place for Hope.
"Well, that's that," Elliot clapped his hands together. "What do you want to do first, Clan?"
"Hmm," Clan placed his index finger on his chin. "I guess I always want to see what a human garden looks like. Dragons would always have huge gardens with huge plants that I don't know what kind of plants and flowers you have here."
"Just normal plants and flowers," Elliot chuckled. "We don't have anything special, but we do have beautiful flowers. Come on."
"Just normal flowers, yet beautiful?" Clan shook his head. "What's wrong with this kid?"
Elliot, Connor, and Ed led Clan to a garden in Alorde. The garden was close to a flat grassland beside Alorde and it took a part of the area to plant the flowers, making it look like it was a field of endless flowers.
"Wow," Clan gasped after seeing the colors around him. "Dracon has nothing but dark colored plants. The air above the skies are much different from here, which might be the reason why the plants there produced darker pigments."
Glenn recalled when he was in Dracon and realized that Clan was right. Elliot only saw the vines and trees in some of the islands, but he could compare them to the ones on Terra and he would know the difference.
"Wow," Clan admired the flowers and grinned to himself. Elliot was watching him and he nodded. He then raised his hand to signal something, but unknown to him, this was a bad idea.
