I Just Want A Single Ending!

Chapter 119: I Just Want a Single Ending [119]

After Kamigawa Saku and Togawa Sakiko wrapped up their shopping spree and finished buying all the items on their list, they finally called it a day.

"Are you sure you don't want them to arrange a delivery? Isn't it inconvenient to carry all of this around?"

As they stepped out of the mall, Saku glanced at Sakiko, who was also carrying several bags, and asked with mild concern.

"I'll just take them back myself."

Sakiko's tone was firm.

If the store clerks delivered these items to her house, it would definitely cause a headache if her father saw it.

Hearing this, Saku didn't push the issue. Instead, he casually added, "Oh, by the way, we haven't exchanged contacts yet. Could you give me your LINE? It'll be easier to discuss work matters from now on."

That was one of the perks of being her boss—no need to come up with an elaborate excuse to get her contact info. He could easily pass it off as a work necessity.

"Of course."

Setting down her bags temporarily, Sakiko took out her phone to exchange contacts with him.

Once they finished, she put her phone away and asked, "So, is there anything else you need me to do?"

"Not at the moment."

Today's main goal had been to finalize their collaboration, and now that they'd even gotten all the supplies, there was no reason to stick around together any longer.

"In that case, I'll head home."

Sakiko reached out to take the rest of the bags from him and gave him a polite farewell.

"How are you getting home? By train?"

With his most important objective complete, and Sakiko now onboard as his Instagram assistant, there'd be plenty of chances to meet up in the future. He didn't need to drag things out.

As her boss, his instructions would be absolute.

"Yes."

The train was the only practical option, as it was quite a distance from the mall to her place.

"In that case, let me give you a ride. I was planning to head home anyway." Saku offered.

"That's really not necessary."

Her refusal came swiftly.

She didn't want him to know where she lived, especially considering her current place was far too cramped and dreary to welcome guests.

"Alright, then. Be careful on your way back."

Seeing her reaction, Saku dropped the idea of giving her a lift.

She'd already turned down his offer, so there was no need to be overly insistent.

Keeping a bit of distance was important, too—it avoided any unnecessary misunderstandings.

"Goodbye, then."

Sakiko gave a polite nod, then turned and headed toward the train station.

Meanwhile, Saku took the chance to look up nearby restaurants he hadn't tried yet and embarked on a small restaurant-scouting adventure.

After all, reviewing new places was part of his daily work, something he couldn't overlook.

Time quickly passed, and before long, it was evening.

Saku had brought all the cosmetics back home, then stashed the two bracelets he'd been gifted in the deepest part of his desk drawer.

Such unlucky items weren't things he wanted to see every day.

If they hadn't seemed so expensive, he might've just tossed them straight in the trash.

Then, grabbing one full set of cosmetics, he went upstairs to see Soyo Nagasaki.

"What's all this?"

When Soyo opened the door and saw the array of cosmetics Saku was holding, she looked genuinely surprised.

"A gift for you."

Stepping inside, Saku placed the large pile of items on her table.

"A gift… for me?"

Soyo picked up a bottle of moisturizing lotion to inspect it, then quickly scanned the rest of the products.

She soon realized that every single item was a high-end brand.

Turning to him, Soyo looked slightly uncomfortable. "Isn't this a bit… too much?"

She was genuinely happy to receive a gift from him.

But an entire haul of high-end cosmetics? Just a quick tally in her mind was enough to realize that this was no small expense.

It felt like too much for him to spend.

"Don't worry about it. Just accept it," Saku assured her.

"I mean, I can't just accept all of these pricey cosmetics for no reason."

If he'd gifted her just one or two items, she'd have accepted them with ease, brushing it off as a small surprise between close friends.

But receiving this much at once—it was too overwhelming to take casually.

"Actually, I'm planning to add a cosmetics review section to my Instagram account."

Saku had prepared an explanation in advance, delivering it without hesitation.

"I've hired a professional reviewer to handle the in-depth testing, but for a more balanced perspective, I wanted to ask if you'd be willing to try them too. That way, I can see how the products feel from an everyday user's perspective."

"I see."

Soyo nodded thoughtfully.

The reason made sense.

Otherwise, there would really be no logical reason for him to give her all these cosmetics.

And it wasn't like she needed to worry about Saku lying—she followed his Instagram account, after all.

All she had to do was wait and see if he started posting cosmetics reviews in the coming weeks.

Saku pressed his hands together, bowing slightly as he requested, "So, if you could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it."

"Leave it to me."

Soyo smiled. Knowing he was entrusting something so important to her made her genuinely happy.

It was proof, she thought, of how much she meant to him.

Besides, isn't it natural for an older sister to help her younger brother with something like this?

"Thank you so much."

Seeing her agree so readily, Saku celebrated internally.

That was easy—he'd just offloaded a whole set of cosmetics without any fuss.

Of course, to prevent any possible misunderstandings, he added, "I just hope everyone else will accept them as smoothly as you did."

"Wait… everyone else?"

Soyo's expression faltered at the mention of that.

Did that mean he was planning to gift these to more people?

"Yes, I'll need to get feedback from several people for accurate data," Saku confirmed.

"Oh, I see…"

Soyo's face visibly fell, the cheer fading from her expression.

For a moment, she'd believed that she, as his older sister figure, was special to him.

Then, suddenly realizing something, she asked hesitantly, "By the way… am I the first person you're giving these cosmetics to?"

"Yes, you are. I was actually worried you might not accept them."

Technically, Sakiko's set didn't count as a gift—it was for her to test.

"Thank you."

With that answer, Soyo's spirits seemed to lift again.

Even though he wasn't giving the cosmetics only to her, the fact that he'd chosen her first reassured her about her place in his life.

It meant she was important to him, right?

It had to.
