I have Nine Lives

Felix took a few steps forward before the ground below him started to shake.

An anger=filled shout could be heard coming from behind him.

Wu Xiao's dissolving body started to reform as he put his hands upward while a maddened smile appeared on his face.

Felix frowned as he tried to get to Goro he couldn't fight Wu Xiao's fully regenerated self in the poison even for a short time or else his body would melt like Wu Xiao did previously and he would lose another life, he already lost 2 making him stay at 7 lives and he didn't really like the process of being scooped up by that gigantic hand, at least he started to get a little bit more used to it.

Wu Xiao's face morphed into a scowl as he saw Felix trying to run away before he waved his hand which created a wall of dirt to rise before Felix and harden into stone which Felix banged his head into and got stunned because he didn't react in time.

Felix shook his head as he cleared his mind and glared at Wu Xiao as he felt the poison infiltrating his body, Felix body started to shake as it was getting constantly weakened.

Felix's eyes started to turn heavy as he looked at Wu Xiao waiting for the same thing to happen to him but something was strange... Wu Xiao wasn't getting damaged by the poison anymore!

Wu Xiao snorted as he saw Felix's surprised face and decided to humor him:

"Besides getting the basic ability that every God's chosen to get you should know that we also get another special ability that the God we serve personally bestows upon us right?"

Felix knew about this but unfortunately for him, Aaltarox didn't have any special ability that he could bestow upon him...

Felix frowned as he remembered about the armor that Aaltarox gave him, could it be used to block the poison from infiltrating his body? He said that it was special armor... Felix concentrated as the blue and white armor covered his whole body like a latex suit then adjusted itself to Felix's size.

Felix took in deep breaths as he could move his body again and the circulation of poison in his body halted.

The armor suit Aaltarox gave him had the basic abilities to stop poison and bleeding along with other things that he didn't explain as they were pretty much basic things for a divine item forgetting that Felix didn't have much knowledge about the items of this world at all.

Felix coughed out a mouthful of purple blood as his circulation returned to normal and his eyes cleared up, he glared at Wu Xiao who had stopped his explanation before he could even start. The raven was glaring at Felix with hate as he said under gritted teeth:

"You... have... got ...a divine item?"

It was obvious from first glance that it wasn't anything that mortals could create normally, the materials it was made from couldn't even be found on the mortal plane and Wu Xiao knew a little bit about divine items as he was promised one if he won the event.

"I shall hack it off your body and make it mine!"

Greed started to appear besides hate in Wu Xiao's eyes, his body wasn't as strong as Felix and he was pretty envious of him, and he even got armor to protect that outrageously strong body of his?

Even though he was a cat Wu Xiao didn't look down on him because of that and he always kept his guard up, it was only that Felix was full of surprises and from time to time his guard had been broke through.

Even though he had been using 100% of his strength beforehand it still wasn't enough for him to beat Felix one on one.

Felix thought that Wu Xiao was pretty weak if he was compared to the intel that Aaltarox gave him, could it be that Aaltarox had mistaken Goro's power for Wu Xiao's?

It wasn't time to contemplate that as he disappeared from view, Goro and the others were kept safe in the shield so he could unleash his full power with the armor on him now!

Wu Xiao glanced everywhere on the battlefield as his eyes started glowing with a dark light to pierce through the poison fog around him.

Suddenly he threw a left hook to his right hitting Felix squarely in the face where his body wasn't protected by the armor.

Felix got back up as his stealth wore off from the hit and he disappeared again as he employed his technique.

He wasn't sure how he was detected but it might have been killing intent detection, it couldn't be helped because Felix hadn't learned killing intent masking yet so he couldn't conceal his attacks fully.

Felix kept his body close to the ground as he crawled quickly towards Wu Xiao who was just standing there and it seemed as if the surrounding poison would never affect him anymore.

Felix thought for a short while before his breathing pattern started to change, he decided to kick it up into high gear with the breathing battle technique!

Felix's fur started to stand on edge as his eyes turned a deeper green, he didn't know about his external changes but he did feel a little bit stronger compared to the usual activation of the breathing technique, could the armor also enhanced his 'transformation'?

Then it was a damn good item!

Wu Xiao's eyes widened as he felt the air around him changing and he thought:

"What was that damn cat going to do now?"

He suddenly felt a hot wave of energy trying to bisect him at the waist as he dodged to the side when his eyes wandered to the site of the attack he saw tens of trees being cut into two pieces then burned to cinders!

He gulped as he felt that attack would have surely killed him, did he open the pandora's box by even attempting to monologue a bit instead of just decapitating him at his weakest?

He was sure that the cat would have had at least one or two more lives considering he already had taken care of 2 of his, even he who was considered a prodigy barely reached 5 lives and this was the first time he even lost 1 in his whole life since he had been born.

He didn't like the sensation of death at all, it almost maddened him to the point of insanity!

But he endured before his body was regenerated and his soul inserted into it, he knew that he would be able to beat Felix because of his ability to endure the poison, his body could adapt to any environment as long as he died once in it!

But he never dreamed that Felix could have gotten his paws on a damn divine item!

He bellowed as his pale blue aura intensified in strength and pale blue beams of energy started to randomly bombard his surroundings trying to fish Felix out.

Felix frowned as his speed increased and easily dodged the beams of blue light, the attacks were all blunt and there was a chance they could break through his armors defense due to their nature, how did Wu Xiao know about the only weakness of the armor?

Wu Xiao frowned as he felt that his attacks didn't meet any resistance which meant that all of them were dodged!

He wondered how strong was Felix in his new state and his anger started to meltdown like an ice cube on a hot summer day.

There was no chance for him to continue this charade and win it, while the other three were still down, time will pass and they will realize how to fuse their souls with their bodies so then he would have to fight a 4v1!

He reverted to his raven form as he flew into the air trying to escape only for his senses to tell him that he had made the wrong decision!

Felix appeared above him with a flaming paw!

He moved so fast that his paw caught on fire to enhance his attacking power.

"EAT THIS!"

Felix shouted as he unleashed his flaming paw on the raven's head transforming him into a barbecued delicacy for Felix.

Felix gulped down the body at the same time it got cooked as his eyes widened, the hex energy inside him started to overflow as his brain immediately increased by 2 sizes and his soul got purified the changes were almost instant as one of his two lost lives came back.

A new body of Wu Xiao's appeared nearby as he screeched, he reverted to his human form as he started to hold his head while crying out in both pain and confusion:

"MY SOUL!"

Felix could feel something in his own soul the moment Wu Xiao cried for his soul, it was a piece of an unknown entity that he immediately identified to be Wu Xiao's soul!

With Felix eating his whole body a piece of his soul that remained tied to the earthen plane got scrapped off from the main one due to Felix's special eating ability and Aaltarox's special ability attracted it to Felix's mindscape!

Felix felt his head exploding with information that he never knew before but then the information was immediately cut off and retracted as the piece of Wu Xiao's soul was forcefully removed from his mindscape by a strange power that he couldn't understand.

He started holding his head as well as he felt an unprecedented amount of pain hit him.

The fight between them reached a stalemate as each of them held their heads in pain.
